This paper presents the theoretical derivation for a method of accurately determining the complex coefficients of single crystal piezoelectric materials. The vibration equations are analytically solved for a piezoelectric plate and a piezoelectric thin rod in an arbitrary crystallographic orientation. The solutions provide the distributions of the stresses and the vibration velocities inside the sample and the electrical impedance between the electrodes. Based on the analysis of the solutions, the complex dielectric, elastic, and piezoelectric coefficients are determined from the impedance or admittance measurements near the resonance frequencies. The measurement for LiNbO/sub 3/ single crystals is used as an example to demonstrate the experiment and calculation procedures and to indicate the comparisons with previous methods.  相似文献

2-Aminopyridine (PA)-derivatized oligosaccharides from IgG were analyzed by using reversed-phase HPLC/mass spectrometry (RP-HPLC/MS) and a MS(n) spectral library, in particular, focusing on two pairs of isomers incompletely separated or coeluted in chromatograms. We previously reported that MS(n) spectral matching considering both major fragment ions (m/z) and intensities is useful and applicable to the structural assignment of PA-oligosaccharide isomers. In this study, MS(n) spectral matching based on the MS(n) spectral library was applied to the assignment of these PA-oligosaccharide isomers in IgG. Its usefulness was investigated by comparing it to the conventional two-dimensional mapping method based on retention time indexes. Specifically, we focus on the assignment and quantification of the isomers, which are coeluted in chromatograms. From this, we propose a new method using MS(n) spectral matching and the working curve on which are plotted the relative intensities of selected fragment ions in their MS(2) spectra versus various mixtures of the isomers. This new method demonstrated that the obtained quantities coincide very well with those estimated after separating by a combination of lectin and reversed-phase columns. This means that separation by RP-HPLC/MS is greatly simplified because complete separation of the isomers is no longer required. Application of this new method was tested by using the two other pairs of fucosylated and nonfucosylated PA-oligosaccharides from IgG. The results showed that this method works for them as well.  相似文献

The gene encoding a glucodextranase from Arthrobacter globiformis I42 was cloned and, subsequently, heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli. This glucodextranase gene consists of 1048 amino acid residues with a calculated molecular mass of 109,135 Da. The roles of two residues at the active site of A. globiformis I42 glucodextranase were examined by site-directed mutagenesis. Glutamic acid residues 458 and 656, which are part of the apparent catalytic residues, were found to be essential for hydrolase activity.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of salmon atelocollagen (SAC) to a scaffold. SAC has a low denaturation temperature and needs to be cross-linked before being used as a scaffold. In the present study, SAC was cross-linked by 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) or dehydrothermal treatment (DHT). The material properties (degree of cross-linking and solubility in phosphate-buffered saline) of the SAC scaffolds cross-linked by EDC (EDC-SAC) and DHT (DHT-SAC) were evaluated. It was found that EDC-SAC had a high degree of cross-linking and high stability compared with DHT-SAC. Human periodontal ligament (HPDL) cells were cultured in the scaffolds for 2 weeks in vitro, and the activities (proliferation rate and alkaline phosphatase [ALP] activity) of HPDL cells cultured in EDC-SAC and DHT-SAC were compared with those cultured in bovine atelocollagen (BAC) scaffolds cross-linked by EDC (EDC-BAC) and DHT (DHT-BAC), respectively. The proliferation rate of HPDL cells cultured in EDC-SAC was equivalent to that in EDC-BAC, and the ALP activity in EDC-SAC was found to be significantly higher than that in EDC-BAC. In the cross-linking by DHT, the cell proliferation rate and the ALP activity in DHT-SAC were lower than those in DHT-BAC. DHT seemed to provide insufficient cross-linking, and DHT-SAC was found to be breakable and contractile, resulting in less cell activity. In contrast, there was no difference in the thermal stability, porous structure, and cell proliferation rate between EDC-SAC and EDC-BAC. In addition, the collagen helix of EDC-SAC was found to be partially denatured, and this structure resulted in the enhancement of ALP activity of HPDL cells compared with that using EDC-BAC. In conclusion, our results indicate that EDC-SAC could be used as a scaffold for in vitro culture.  相似文献

Catalysts are usually required to produce carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and play important roles during the growth process. Any catalysts that remain after processing are expected to add extra properties and removal of the catalysts is usually required to achieve the original properties of CNTs. Recently, CNTs have been filled incidentally by catalysts, such as Pb, Sn, Ni and Bi. This has led to success in obtaining additional properties and a few models have been proposed to describe the encapsulating mechanisms. In the present study, CNTs were filled with palladium by a microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition method. Detailed structural and compositional investigations of these metal-filled CNTs were carried out by transmission electron microscopy to elucidate the growth mechanisms.  相似文献

We propose a method for extracting the left ventricular (LV) contours from left ventriculograms by means of a neural edge detector (NED) in order to extract the contours which accord with those traced by a cardiologist. The NED is a supervised edge detector based on a modified multilayer neural network, and is trained by use of a modified back-propagation algorithm. The NED can acquire the function of a desired edge detector through training with a set of input images and the desired edges obtained from the contours traced by a cardiologist. The proposed contour-extraction method consists of 1) detection of "subjective edges" by use of the NED; 2) extraction of rough contours by use of low-pass filtering and edge enhancement; and 3) a contour-tracing method based on the contour candidates synthesized from the edges detected by the NED and the rough contours. Through experiments, it was shown that the proposed method was able to extract the contours in agreement with those traced by an experienced cardiologist, i.e., we achieved an average contour error of 6.2% for left ventriculograms at end-diastole and an average difference between the ejection fractions obtained from the manually traced contours and those obtained from the computer-extracted contours of 4.1%.  相似文献

The six lattice parameters (a, b, c, alpha, beta and gamma) of Si(1-x)Ge(x), which was grown epitaxially on a Si (001) substrate with a varying Ge concentration, were determined by convergent-beam electron diffraction (CBED) without any assumption of crystal lattice symmetry. It was revealed that the lattice parameter c of Si(1-x)Ge(x) varies linearly with the Ge concentration and that the lattice symmetry is lowered from cubic to tetragonal, excluding an artifact due to the thinning of the specimen. The effect of strain relaxation that is caused by thinning specimens is discussed. Ge concentrations of examined specimen areas are evaluated using the obtained lattice parameters.  相似文献

An examination of consolidation conditions by hot extrusion of AZ31 magnesium alloy machined chips was conducted to enhance the bonding of individual chips, in order to improve the mechanical properties. Hot extrusions were carried out in the superplastic and non-superplastic region. Microstructural observations revealed that grain refinement was attained by extruding machined chips, and the grain sizes of the chip-extruded materials were smaller than 5 m. The interfaces of individual chips of extruded materials were not identified when the chips were extruded in the superplastic region. The ultimate tensile strength was about 300 MPa and elongation-to-failure was about 10% for chip-extruded materials that were extruded in the superplastic region. These materials were comparable with the as-received alloy with respect to the room temperature strength, although the ductility was reduced to half. It was confirmed that chip consolidation utilizing superplastic flow is useful to enhance the bonding of individual grains.  相似文献

An incrementally modular abstraction hierarchy, which specifies, models and visualizes the architecture of cyberworlds from general to specific, is presented. The hierarchy, consisting of a homotopy level with fiber bundles, a set theoretical space level, a topological space level, an adjunction space level, a cellular space level, and presentation and view-levels, is described theoretically with examples of online book shopping such as e-commerce, seat assembling as such e-manufacturing, and accounting such as e-economy. Sharing invariants defined at each level contributes to robust architecture and modeling for designing, analyzing, implementing and visualizing cyberworlds, which results in a fault-free reduction of time and cost.  相似文献
