A non-linear model is proposed to characterize the mechanical behaviour of compact bone and has been validated by mechanical tests on bovine femoral compact bone. The model consists of a non-linear spring and a non-linear dashpot in parallel. The method of identifying the viscoelastic parameters in the model is discussed. Impact and quasi-static compressive mechanical tests have shown that the model can be applied to bone to represent its mechanical behaviour at strain rates up to 100 s-1. The directional dependence of the viscoelastic parameters for the bone are determined and discussed. 相似文献

A redox flow battery (RFB) is a new type battery. A new piping sytem to improve the performance of RFBs for PV systems is introduced. In this new system, the piping for the electrolytes also connects each stack in series just like the electric circuit. In this system, the leak current through the electrolytes in the piping between each stack is suppressed. This system is called multitank system because it has many minitanks between each stack. Small-model tests were performed to examine the integrity of the containment flange gasket in a severe accident. During a severe accident, containment structures suffer slow pressurization at relatively high temperatures. A realistic understanding of containment performance in such conditions is a major concern in developing an accident management strategy. This paper describes the results of experiments on the sealing capability of flange gaskets at high pressures and high temperatures. Silicone-rubber gaskets, which are used as the sealing material in BWR plant primary containment vessels (PCV) in Japan, were examined in small-model tests. The gaskets show sufficient sealing capability up to 225°C at 20 kgf/cm2. When applying the leakage characteristics specified in this paper to codes for severe accidents, the results should be examined carefully based on realistic heattransfer phenomena. 相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films are deposited in a dc vacuum arc plasma with a graphite cathode. The arc current, the flow rate of hydrogen gas and the pressure are 50 A, 10 ml/min and 0.05 Pa, respectively. The substrate materials are Si (111), soda-glass and Mo. Process parameters are deposition time (3 to 30 min). The films are analyzed by laser Raman spectroscopy and the surface appearance of the films are observed with an optical microscope. The results are as follows: (1) the films deposited under these conditions have diamond-like carbon structure; (2) the films deposited for 3 min on Si or Mo and for 5 min on glass, wrinkle on the substrates; (3) the films deposited for more than 10 min on Si and for more than 15 min on glass, crack and flake off the substrates; and (4) the films deposited for more than 10 min on Mo, plainly stick on the substrate without any wrinkles or flakes. It is found that plain DLC films are able to be produced by the vacuum arc deposition method if the deposition time is selected appropriately, while never by the conventional plasma CVD method. 相似文献

Under the current deregulation of the electric utility industry, power system planning has become more complex. System planners are required to study how to use available resources to meet customer's demand economically with acceptable reliability and quality. Integrated resource planning has emerged recently as one effective approach for this problem, and the approach has been expanded to include the value of reliability, that is, power interruption cost. This paper is aimed at developing a flexible decision method to select a favorable plan among various transmission system expansion alternatives, not only from a power supplier's viewpoint, but also from the customer's perspective, including cost of interruption. Bellman-Zadeh's maximizing decision using a fuzzy decision set is applied as a flexible decision method which is able to reflect the planner's intentions. The primary aim of surge arresters in power distribution lines is to protect lines and equipment from the voltage induced by nearby lightning strokes. To further improve power systems, methods to protect distribution lines against direct lightning strokes are still needed. An effective measure against direct lightning strokes is to increase the number of arresters. However, if the surge current is too large, some surge arresters absorb energy in excess of their capability and may break; this leads to a line fault. To evaluate the protective effect of the surge arresters against direct lightning strokes to overhead ground wire, the authors measured both the voltage across the surge arresters and the energy absorbed by them using a full-scale model line and a 12 MV impulse generator. The results were compared with simulation results by EMTP. There have been no previous studies making a comparison of this kind. 相似文献

The replicated pattern distortion for feature sizes down to 0.15 μm, characterized by pattern linearity, pattern density dependence, and corner rounding, is investigated in synchrotron radiation (SR) lithography. In the investigation, a highly accurate X-ray mask delineated by a focused ion beam, a chemically amplified resist, and a Fresnel diffraction model simulator are used. At a 15 μm mask-to-wafer gap, no pattern proximity effect is observed. The corner rounding radius due to Fresnel diffraction is approximately 0.04 μm. 相似文献
