New biomarkers are needed to further stratify the risk of malignancy in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN). Although microRNAs (miRNAs) are expected to be stable biomarkers, they can vary owing to a lack of definite internal controls. To identify universal biomarkers for invasive IPMN, we performed miRNA sequencing using tumor-normal paired samples. A total of 19 resected tissues and 13 pancreatic juice samples from 32 IPMN patients were analyzed for miRNA expression by next-generation sequencing with a two-step normalization of miRNA sequence data. The miRNAs involved in IPMN associated with invasive carcinoma were identified from this tissue analysis and further verified with the pancreatic juice samples. From the tumor-normal paired tissue analysis of the expression levels of 2792 miRNAs, 20 upregulated and 17 downregulated miRNAs were identified. In IPMN associated with invasive carcinoma (INV), miR-10a-5p and miR-221-3p were upregulated and miR-148a-3p was downregulated when compared with noninvasive IPMN. When these findings were further validated with pancreatic juice samples, miR-10a-5p was found to be elevated in INV (p = 0.002). Therefore, three differentially expressed miRNAs were identified in tissues with INV, and the expression of miR-10a-5p was also elevated in pancreatic juice samples with INV. MiR-10a-5p is a promising additional biomarker for invasive IPMN.  相似文献

We report fast computation of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) using Xeon Phi coprocessors, which have massively x86-based processors on one chip, recently released by Intel. CGHs can generate arbitrary light wavefronts, and therefore, are promising technology for many applications: for example, three-dimensional displays, diffractive optical elements, and the generation of arbitrary beams. CGHs incur enormous computational cost. In this paper, we describe the implementations of several CGH generating algorithms on the Xeon Phi, and the comparisons in terms of the performance and the ease of programming between the Xeon Phi, a CPU and graphics processing unit (GPU).  相似文献

Thermal decomposition of titanium(IV) tetra-tert-butoxide (TTB) in inert organic solvents at 573 K yielded microcrystalline anatase (titanium(IV) oxide, TiO2) powders with a crystallite size of ca. 9 nm and a surface area of <100 m2 g-1. Primary and secondary alkoxides of titanium(IV), however, were not decomposed under similar conditions, indicating that the thermal stability of C-O bonds in the alkoxides was a decisive factor for their decomposition. The TiO2 prepared from TTB by this manner was thermally stable upon calcination in air and retained high surface area of ca. 100 m2 g-1 even after calcination at 823 K. The as-prepared TiO2 powders, without calcination, exhibited much higher rate of carbon dioxide formation than any other active photocatalysts such as Degussa P-25 and Ishihara ST-01 in the photocatalytic mineralization of acetic acid in aerated aqueous solutions. The higher activity of the present TiO2 photocatalysts is attributed to both high crystallinity and large surface of the present product. The calcination of the as-prepared TiO2 in air reduced the photocatalytic activity, but it was still higher than the other commercially available TiO2's. For the effective use of short-lived radioactive beams, soon to be available at the Tokai Radioactive Ion Accelerator Complex, the authors have developed a radiotracer method for diffusion studies in solids. The experimental test was performed by the measurement of the diffusion coefficients of Li in a sample of the compound βLiAl using an α-emitting radiotracer of 8Li (T1/2=0.84 s). It was found that the time-dependent yields of the α particles from the diffusing 8Li that was initially implanted in the sample could be used as a measure of the diffusivity of the tracer in a nondestructive way. The method was applied to measure the self-diffusion coefficients of Li in βLiGa, and for investigating how the Li diffusion in the Li ionic conductors is affected by the concentration of atomic defects (i.e., the existence of the atomic vacancies of Li and the defects in Ga sites that are replaced by Li).  相似文献

Non-linear optical properties of CdS quantum dots embedded in the sol-gel derived Na2O-B2O3-SiO2x3 glass matrix have been studied using nanosecond degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM), pump-probe experiments, and time-resolved subpicosecond DFWM measurements. The concentration of CdS microcrystallites was varied from 1.4 to 10.2 wt% while the particle size was controlled to be in the range of 3–6 nm in diameter so that the confinement effects can be realized. The third-order susceptibility, 3, was determined to be of the order of 10–7-10–6 e.s.u. near the resonant wavelength between 450 and 470 nm by the nanosecond DFWM and pump-probe experiments, and of the order of 10–11-10–10 e.s.u. at the off-resonant wavelength, 580 nm, by a time-resolved DFWM measurement with 400 fs laser pulse. The decay time changed from 0.5 to 50 picoseconds as a function of the size, size distribution and number density of CdS microcrystallites in the glasses. Photodarkening reduced the optical non-linearity of the melt-quenched samples by a factor of 20, while it had no appreciable effect on that of the sol-gel derived samples.[/p]  相似文献

A 13.56-MHz class-E amplifier with a high-voltage GaN HEMT as the main switching device is demonstrated to show the possibility of using GaN HEMTs in high-frequency switching power applications such as RF power-supply applications. The 380-V/1.9-A GaN power HEMT was designed and fabricated for high-voltage power-electronics applications. The demonstrated circuit achieved the output power of 13.4 W and the power efficiency of 91% under a drain-peak voltage as high as 330 V. This result shows that high-voltage GaN devices are suitable for high-frequency switching applications under high dc input voltages of over 100 V.  相似文献

The behavior of events that occur infrequently but have a large impact tends to differ from that of the central tendency, and identifying the tail dependence structure among key factors is critical for controlling risks. However, due to technical difficulties, conventional analyses of dependence have focused on the global average dependence. This article proposes a novel approach for analyzing the entire structure of nonlinear dependence between two data sets on the basis of accurate pointwise mutual information estimation. The emphasis is on fat-tailed distributions that tend to appear in events involving sudden large changes. The proposed pointwise mutual information estimator is sufficiently robust and efficient for exploring tail dependence, and its good performance was confirmed in an experimental study. The significance of the identified dependence structure was assessed using the proposed bootstrap procedure. New facts were discovered from its application to daily returns and volume on the New York stock Exchange (NYSE) Composite Index.  相似文献

B- to Z-DNA transitions play a crucial role in biological systems and have attracted the interest of researchers for their applications in DNA nanotechnology. DNA and DNA analogues have also been used as templates to construct helical chromophore associations with π interactions. In this work, the B- to Z-DNA transition-induced switching of pyrene in an association manner was evaluated using DNA duplexes with non-nucleosidic pyrene residues in the middle of d(CG) repeat sequences. One of the pyrene-labeled DNAs was shown to exhibit inverted exciton coupled circular dichroism signals upon pyrene association through a B- to Z-DNA transition. This observation indicates that pyrene association switches the DNA conformation from right- to left-handed. Interestingly, the fluorescence of the pyrene-labeled DNA duplex also dynamically changed upon switching of the pyrene in an association-based manner. Taken together, these studies demonstrate that pyrene-labeled DNA shows promise as a chiroptical molecular switch.  相似文献
