We introduce a concept of a real-world-oriented humanoid robot that can support humans’ activities in daily life. In such environments, robots have to watch humans, understand their behavior, and support their daily life tasks. In particular, these robots must be capable of such real-world behavior as handling tableware and delivering daily commodities by hand. We developed a humanoid robot, HRP-2W, which has an upper body of HRP-2 [K. Kaneko, F. Kanehiro, S. Kajita, H. Hirukawa, T. Kawasaki, M. Hirata, K. Akachi, T. Isozumi, Humanoid Robot HRP-2, in: Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Conference on Robotics & Automation, 2004, pp. 1083–1090] and a wheel module instead of legs, as a research platform to fulfill this aim. We also developed basic software configuration in order to integrate our platform with other research groups. Through experiments, we demonstrated the feasibility of the humanoid robot platform and the potential of the software architecture.  相似文献

Two samples of college students (Japanese, N?=?373; American, N?=?401) were given the Inventory of Occupational Preferences (T. J. G. Tracey & J. Rounds, 1996a), and the structural invariance across cultures was examined at the item and at various scale levels. Correlations of principal-components factor loadings demonstrated that the item structure was similar across cultures. Three separate scale structures were examined: Holland's six-type circular model, Tracey and Round's eight-type circular model, and Tracey and Round's spherical representation. The fit of the six-type and spherical models to the Japanese sample was significantly worse than their fit to the U.S. sample. There were no differences in cross-cultural fit for the eight-type model. Few structure differences were found between and within genders. Water-in-Oil (W/O) and Oil-in-Water (O/W) type water absorbent polymer emulsions were studied using two different polymerization methods. W/O type water absorbent polymer emulsions were prepared by the inverse emulsion polymerization of ammonium acrylate (AA), the quaternized salt of dimethyl-aminoethyl methacrylate (DMQ) and acrylamide (AM) with N,N-methylene-bisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker. A pH sensitive water absorbent polymer emulsion was prepared by the conventional emulsion polymerization of diethyl-aminoethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a crosslinker. It was confirmed that the water absorption capacity of crosslinked polymers in inverse emulsion was controlled by crosslink density and dissociative charge density, and the crosslinked polyDEAEMA particles had a phase transition property of swelling and shrinking with pH. The dispersions of these water swollen crosslinked polymer particles exhibited an increase in viscosity and thixotropic fluidity.  相似文献

Background  

Abnormal body weight, dietary concerns, and unhealthy weight loss behaviors are increasingly being observed in young females in Japan. Our previous research has shown that the irregular lifestyles of female Japanese and Chinese students are significantly related to their desire to be thinner. In the present study, we compare the food habits and body shape preferences of female university students in South Korea and Japan to explore body shape perceptions in those populations.  相似文献

With the recent advent of high-performance ac superconductors with very small ac loss and large current-carrying capacity, the possibility of an air-core superconducting transformer is being studied. Although the exciting current is very large, the air-core transformer has the following merits: (1) no iron loss; (2) no insulation care of the core; (3) no harmonics, and no in rush current induced by iron saturation, etc. Thus, the authors fabricated and tested a small experimental transformer (2.5 kVA, 330/150 V). As easily predicted, the exciting current becomes very large. It occupies about 45 percent of the rated current. Meanwhile, the leakage reactance increase considerably. The %IX becomes about 28 percent. These experimental results show good agreement with the theoretical analysis based on an equivalent circuit.  相似文献

The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe cannot use galactose as a carbon or energy source, and little is known about galactose metabolism in this species. Here we report isolation of a galactose-assimilating mutant that grows on a medium containing galactose as a sole carbon source through use of a proofreading-deficient DNA polymerase δ variant encoded by cdc6-1. Based on comparative analysis of gene expression profiles in the wild-type and the mutant (FG2-8), we found that SPBPB2B2.10c (gal7+), SPBPB2B2.12c (gal10+) and SPBPB2B2.13 (gal1+), homologous to Saccharomyces cerevisiae GAL7, GAL10 and GAL1, respectively, and SPBPB2B2.08, SPBPB2B2.09c, and SPBPB2B2.11 that localize close to the gal genes, were highly expressed and dramatically induced by addition of galactose. The gal7Δ strain, carrying an integrated ura4+ marker at the gal7+ locus, grew on 5-fluoroorotic acid (5-FOA)-containing medium. In contrast, the FG2-8 gal7Δ strain could not grow on 5-FOA medium. In addition, expression of gal7+, SPBPB2B2.13, gal10+ and gal1+ genes increased in the wild-type strain when carried on a vector, and these transformants grew on galactose medium. We suggest that gal7+, gal10+, and gal1+ are localized close to a chromosomal terminal repressed by gene silencing in S. pombe. In contrast, gene silencing was defective in the FG2-8 strain making galactose assimilation possible.  相似文献
