ABSTRACT

Solvent extraction studies were performed to understand the extraction behavior of Np4+ and NpO2 2+ from acidic feeds with CMPO (octyl (phenyl)-N,N-diisobutyl carbamoyl methyl phosphine oxide) dissolved in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide, a water immiscible ionic liquid. Slope analyses on the distribution data revealed the extraction of ML2 type species, where M = Np4+ or NpO2 2+, and L = CMPO. Studies were also carried out with Pu4+ and UO2 2+ under identical conditions. The nature of the extracted species was found to vary with the nature of the ionic species.  相似文献

Substituted lithium ferrites having the chemical formula, Li0.35Cd0.3Fe2.35O4 and Li0.35Zn0.3Fe2.35O4, with different iron (metal) contents (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) in wt% have been prepared by solid-state technique. Complex permeability and power loss of all samples have been measured by network analyser in the frequency range of 50–5000 kHz. Magnetic properties like saturation magnetization, coercivity, retentivity have been measured by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The permeability of cadmium doped lithium ferrites exhibited higher values than zinc doped lithium ferrites. The power loss of cadmium doped lithium ferrites is lesser as compared to zinc doped lithium ferrites in the frequency range of 50–5000 kHz and at flux density of 10 mT. The behaviour of power loss with flux density has been found near about same for both series. Magnetic and power loss behaviour of the samples suggest that a small amount of Fe content can improve the properties of ferrite samples for microwave devices.  相似文献

Most interaction recognition approaches have been limited to single‐person action classification in videos. However, for still images where motion information is not available, the task becomes more complex. Aiming to this point, we propose an approach for multiperson human interaction recognition in images with keypoint‐based feature image analysis. Proposed method is a three‐stage framework. In the first stage, we propose feature‐based neural network (FCNN) for action recognition trained with feature images. Feature images are body features, that is, effective distances between a set of body part pairs and angular relation between body part triplets, rearranged in 2D gray‐scale image to learn effective representation of complex actions. In the later stage, we propose a voting‐based method for direction encoding to anticipate probable motion in steady images. Finally, our multiperson interaction recognition algorithm identifies which human pairs are interacting with each other using an interaction parameter. We evaluate our approach on two real‐world data sets, that is, UT‐interaction and SBU kinect interaction. The empirical experiments show that results are better than the state‐of‐the‐art methods with recognition accuracy of 95.83% on UT‐I set 1, 92.5% on UT‐I set 2, and 94.28% on SBU clean data set.  相似文献

Objective: This work describes the application of natural plant polysaccharide as pharmaceutical mucoadhesive excipients in delivery systems to reduce the clearance rate through nasal cavity.

Methods: Novel natural polysaccharide (Hibiscus rosasinensis)-based mucoadhesive microspheres were prepared by using emulsion crosslinking method for the delivery of rizatriptan benzoate (RB) through nasal route. Mucoadhesive microspheres were characterized for different parameters and nasal clearance of technetium-99m (99mTc)-radiolabeled microspheres was determined by using gamma-scintigraphy.

Results: Their Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies showed that the drug was stable during preparation of microspheres. Aerodynamic diameter of microspheres was in the range 13.23?±?1.83–33.57?±?3.69?µm. Change in drug and polysaccharide ratio influenced the mucoadhesion, encapsulation efficiency and in-vitro release property. Scintigraphs taken at regular interval indicate that control solution was cleared rapidly from nasal cavity, whereas microspheres showed slower clearance (p?Conclusion: Natural polysaccharide-based microspheres achieved extended residence by minimizing effect of mucociliary clearance with opportunity of sustained delivery for longer duration.  相似文献

Solvothermal technique has been used for the synthesis of Fe-doped CdS nanorods (Cd1?xFexS) with (x = 0.0, 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5). Structural analysis carried out using X-ray diffraction reveals the formation of defect-free hexagonal phase of the CdS nanorods. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis confirms the presence of elements Cd, Fe and S in their stoichiometric ratio. Blue shift in the band gap, as compared to the bulk CdS, has been observed in UV–visible spectra. The decrease in the intensity of the photoluminescence peaks confirms the quenching of spectra upon Fe doping. Transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and selected area diffraction studies confirm the polycrystalline nature as well as growth of CdS nanorods along (112) plane. Magnetic study confirms the ferromagnetic nature of the synthesized nanorods. Magnetic saturation has been found to be 0.187, 0.300, 0.450, 0.675, 0.600 emu g?1, respectively, for undoped, 3, 5, 10, and 15 % Fe-doped CdS.  相似文献

The present study was carried out to assess levels of different heavy metals like iron, manganese, copper and zinc, in vegetables irrigated with water from different sources. The results indicated a substantial build-up of heavy metals in vegetables irrigated with wastewater. The range of various metals in wastewater-irrigated plants was 116–378, 12–69, 5.2–16.8 and 22–46 mg/kg for iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), respectively. The highest mean levels of Fe and Mn were detected in mint and spinach, whereas the levels of Cu and Zn were highest in carrot. The present study highlights that both adults and children consuming vegetables grown in wastewater-irrigated soils ingest significant amount of these metals. However, the values of these metals were below the recommended maximum tolerable levels proposed by the [Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (1999). Summary and conclusions. In 53rd Meeting, Rome, June 1–10, 1999]. However, the regular monitoring of levels of these metals from effluents and sewage, in vegetables and in other food materials is essential to prevent excessive build-up of these metals in the food chain.  相似文献

Sludge, soil and leachate samples collected from a chromium-contaminated tannery waste dumping site in Kanpur, India, were found to contain considerable amounts of Cr(VI), despite the fresh tannery sludge containing little or no Cr(VI). Literature reports suggested that dry Cr(III) precipitates could be converted to Cr(VI) when heated in the presence of oxygen. Also, Cr(III) in aqueous phase could be oxidized through interaction with manganese dioxide (MnO2) surface to Cr(VI). Measurement of manganese in the sludge samples collected from the site showed concentrations up to 0.6 mg/g. Based on equilibrium calculations, it was determined that both dry phase Cr(III) oxidation by atmospheric oxygen and aqueous phase Cr(III) oxidation by MnO2 surface were thermodynamically feasible. It was further suggested that in aqueous phase, manganese may act effectively as an electron transporter between Cr(III) and dissolved oxygen during Cr(III) oxidation, leading to regeneration of MnO2 solid phase. Further, as dissolved Cr(III) is oxidized, dissolution of Cr(OH3) will take place to maintain the equilibrium between the dissolved and solid phases of Cr(III). In the pH range of 3-10, and at oxygen partial pressure (P(O2)) of 10(-6) atm or higher, equilibrium conditions stipulate nearly complete conversion of Cr(III) to Cr(VI). At P(O2) of 10(-20) atm or lower, very little Cr(VI) is expected to be present under equilibrium conditions. In the intermediate P(O2) regions, incomplete dissolution of the Cr(OH3) solid phase and only partial conversion of chromium from +3 to the +6 oxidation state is expected, especially at lower pH values.  相似文献

A rotary desiccant dehumidifier based on an evacuated tube solar air collector with a phase change material (PCM) storage unit has been experimentally investigated. The PCM (acetamide) simultaneously stores and transfers the heat to the air during day hours. The stored heat of the PCM is utilized to produce hot air during night hours. The performance of the system is analyzed for different air flow rates at different rotational speeds (rph) of desiccant wheel. The dehumidification effectiveness (?A), regeneration effectiveness (?R), and dehumidification coefficient of performance are 8.17, 10.35, and 0.0327%, respectively, at 16 rph of the desiccant wheel with 127.23?kg/h air flow rate. The system is also used to generate dry air for 14?h a day with PCM, which shows that acetamide used as the PCM has an ability to store an adequate amount of heat to regenerate the desiccant wheel during off-sunshine hours.  相似文献

Fermentation of meat is a traditional preservation method used widely for improving quality and shelf life of fermented meat products. Fermentation of meat causes a number of physical, biochemical, and microbial changes, which eventually impart functional properties, sensory characteristics, and nutritional aspects to these products and inhibit the growth of various pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms. These changes include acidification (carbohydrate catabolism), solubilization and gelation of myofibrillar and sarcoplasmic proteins of muscle, degradation of proteins and lipids, reduction of nitrate into nitrite, formation of nitrosomyoglobin, and dehydration. Dry-fermented sausages are increasingly being used as carrier of probiotics. The production of biogenic amines during fermentation can be controlled by selecting proper starter cultures and other preventive measures such as quality of raw materials, hygienic measures, temperature, etc.  相似文献
