A polymer gel is one of the common remediate methods to either reduce or totally block excessive water production in oilfields. Some systems demonstrated an excellent performance in treating the problem like polyacrylamide tert‐butyl acrylate (PAtBA)/polyethylenimine (PEI). In this study, polyacrylamide (PAM) was introduced as a cheap alternative to PAtBA that can tolerate high salinity reservoirs. The thermal stability of the PAM/PEI polymeric gel in saline water was examined at 150°C (302F). Samples prepared in sea water showed better stability compared with distilled and field water. Dynamic rheology and core‐flooding experiments were used to evaluate the PAM / PEI gel system at high temperatures. NaCl and NH4Cl were evaluated as a possible retarders for delaying the gelation time in order to achieve a successful placement. NH4Cl was found to be more effective retarder. Core‐flooding tests were conducted in sandstone and carbonate cores. The subject polymer gel was injected at rates typical of those in field applications. The injectivity of PAM/PEI was tested in Berea sandstone cores with initial permeability of ~45 mD. The post‐treatment of the system showed a permeability reduction of ~94% for a period of two weeks. The injectivity in low permeability carbonate cores required more retardation compared with the injectivity in sandstone cores. The gel reduced the permeability to brine in Indiana limestone core by 99.8% for more than 5 months. Rheology of cured gel samples indicated that the gel strength needs about one day of curing in the core for the strength to stabilize. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Lipid‐based delivery systems are an established technology with considerable clinical acceptance and several applications in human. Herein, we report the design, synthesis and evaluation of novel orthoester nucleoside lipids (ONLs) for the modulation of liposome stability. The ONLs contain head groups with 3′‐orthoester nucleoside derivatives featuring positive or negative charges. The insertion of the orthoester function in the NL structures allows the formation of pH‐sensitive liposomes. ONL‐based liposomes can be hydrolyzed to provide nontoxic products, including nucleoside derivatives and hexadecanol. To allow the release to be tunable at different hydrolysis rates, the charge of the polar head structure is modulated, and the head group can be released at a biologically relevant pH. Crucially, when ONLs are mixed with natural phosphocholine lipids (PC), the resultant liposome evolves toward the formation of a hexadecanol/PC lamellar system. Biological evaluation shows that stable nucleic acid lipid particles (SNALPs) formulated with ONLs and siRNAs can effectively enter into tumor cells and release their nucleic acid payload in response to an intracellular acidic environment. This results in a much higher antitumor activity than conventional SNALPs. The ability to use pH‐cleavable nucleolipids to control the stability of lipid‐based delivery systems represents a promising approach for the intracellular delivery of drug cargos.  相似文献

Lauric acid and propylene oxide were used to modify four biologically active heterocycles (thiazole, pyrazole, triazole, and pyrrole) to synthesize 17 new surfactants. The chemical structures of these surfactants were confirmed using infrared and 1H, and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The surfactants all show good surface activity, low critical micelle concentration (CMC) values, high cloud points, and tight interfacial packing. All showed antimicrobial activity on both bacteria and fungi. In addition, biodegradation testing demonstrated significant breakdown within seven days.  相似文献

Soybean is a major source of oil for food, feed, and biofuel production. Mutagenesis is a tool for creating unique traits useful in breeding programs. The aim of this study is to use nonhypothesis statistical testing methods to make decisions about a mutagenic population. To this end, a total of 1037 mutation lines and 28 wild‐type lines were analyzed for fatty‐acid composition and protein content. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to analyze the fatty acid profile, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to build a selection model for seed weight per plant and weight per 10 seeds, and clustering in conjunction with power analysis to determine the minimum number of individuals needed to create a MANOVA selection model for the oil to protein content. Five of the 35 possible entries were identified by PCA analysis for stearic acid and four of 16 possible entries for oleic acid. Interestingly, most of the selected mutants were validated genetically. In fact, selected mutants with high seed stearic acid or high seed oleic acid contents were verified to carry mutations on GmFAD2‐1A, GmFAD2‐1B, and GmSACPD‐C genes. This shows a promising method of identifying smaller portion of the population to screen for desired mutations.  相似文献

Nanofibers with several hundred of nanometers were successfully fabricated using electrospinning process and a mixture of two types of polymers which are: polydimethylsiloxane and polyacrylonitrile as precursors. After stabilization and carbonization at 1000 °C, three phases which are: silicon carbide (SiC), carbon, and oxy‐SiC were presented. Spectroscopic and microscopic techniques had confirmed the presence of nanocrystalline SiC and turbostratic carbons. These phases formed an intertwined network at the nanometric scale. In addition, the resulted fibers showed a core‐skin effect with skin richer in carbon and a core mainly dominated by silicon‐based phases in the form SiC or Si? O? C ceramics. A significant improvement was observed in both tensile strength and elastic modulus in these hybrid fibers. In term of crystallography, these nanofibers seem to exhibit similar microstructure that was observed in Nicalon fiber. However, it was difficult to determine the ratio of these phases and their influence on the physical properties of these hybrid fibers. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Poly[acrylonitrile (AN)‐co‐divinylbenzene (DVB)‐co‐vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC)] terpolymers were synthesized by precipitation polymerization in the form of porous polymer microspheres. The poly(AN‐co‐DVB‐co‐VBC) polymers were then hypercrosslinked, via a Friedel‐Crafts reaction with FeCl3 in nitrobenzene, to provide a significant uplift in the specific surface areas of the polymers. FTIR spectra of the hypercrosslinked poly(AN‐co‐DVB‐co‐VBC)s showed that the chloromethyl groups derived from VBC were consumed by the Friedel‐Crafts reactions, which was consistent with successful hypercrosslinking. Hypercrosslinking installed a number of new, small pores into the polymers, as evidenced by a dramatic increase in the specific surface areas upon hypercrosslinking (from ~530 to 1080 m2 g?1). The hypercrosslinked polymers are very interesting for a range of applications, not least of all for solid‐phase extraction (SPE) work, where the convenient physical form of the polymers (beaded format), their low mean particle diameters, and narrow particle size distributions, as well as their high specific surface areas and polar character (arising from the AN residues), make them attractive candidates as SPE sorbents. In this regard, in a preliminary study one of the hypercrosslinked polymers was utilized as an SPE sorbent for the capture of the polar pharmaceutical diclofenac from a polar environment. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
