Cross-linked polymer beads with different cross-linking agent loading were prepared by carrying out cross-linking suspension copolymerization of styrene-divinylbenzene (St- DVB) monomers using guar gum (GG) and xanthan gum (XG) from bioresources as eco-friendly suspension biopolymer stabilizers in the presence of non reactive diluents. The effects of GG and XG as suspension biostabilizers on the characteristics of the styrene copolymer beads were investigated regarding thermal properties, porosity characteristics, solvent swelling ratio, and surface morphologies using TGA, DSC, XRD, SEM, BET analyses. Spherical and regular beads with smooth surface were produced and the average particle size was in the range 170–290 μm (50–80 mesh size). The porosity characteristics of the produced beads including surface area and pore volume were in range 0.45 m2/g and 32–45 ml/g, respectively. Overall, the present article provided a novel route to prepare cross-linked polystyrene copolymer beads with tunable porosity suitable for catalyst support.  相似文献

The aim of this research was to develop chitosan/gelatin/keratin composite containing hydrocortisone sodium succinate as a buccal mucoadhesive patch to treat desquamative gingivitis, which was fabricated through an environmental friendly process. Mucoadhesive films increase the advantage of higher efficiency and drug localization in the affected region. In this research, mucoadhesive films, for the release of hydrocortisone sodium succinate, were prepared using different ratios of chitosan, gelatin and keratin. In the first step, chitosan and gelatin proportions were optimized after evaluating the mechanical properties, swelling capacity, water uptake, stability, and biodegradation of the films. Then, keratin was added at different percentages to the optimum composite of chitosan and gelatin together with the drug. The results of surface pH showed that none of the samples were harmful to the buccal cavity. FTIR analysis confirmed the influence of keratin on the structure of the composite. The presence of a higher amount of keratin in the composite films resulted in high mechanical, mucoadhesive properties and stability, low water uptake and biodegradation in phosphate buffer saline (pH?=?7.4) containing 104?U/ml lysozyme. The release profile of the films ascertained that keratin is a rate controller in the release of the hydrocortisone sodium succinate. Finally, chitosan/gelatin/keratin composite containing hydrocortisone sodium succinate can be employed in dental applications.  相似文献

Over the last decade, in pursuit to provide suitable alternatives for power supplies of medical devices in regenerative medicine, extensive research on nanogenerators has been developed. Such devices can overcome current commercial battery challenges, including intense heat-on-body complications due to the electrical current during therapeutic usage, leading to protein denaturation, cell structure destruction, and even cell necrosis. In addition, these traditional batteries contain a bulky and heavy structure that prevents them from providing sustainable on body biomedical therapeutic intervention. Furthermore, advantages such as wide-range biocompatible and biodegradable materials, lightweight, and sufficient stretchability for device construction can minimize the side effects of implantable devices, including inflammation or toxicity, as well as eliminate secondary surgery to replace or remove batteries. Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) are associated with harvesting mechanical energy in various forms, among which human body motions can serve as a renewable power source for healthcare systems. This review is written to emphasize the importance of TENG's applications in regenerative medicine and modulation purposes, particularly for the nervous system. Some crucial parameters for implantable consideration are discussed. In the concluding remarks, features for clinical utilization including output efficiency, encapsulation, stability, and miniaturization are suggested as challenges and prospects.  相似文献

In this study, a thin layer with a thickness of about 120 μm of poly(caprolactone) (PCL) was fabricated by electrospinning method. Then, a fibrous nanocomposite composed of PCL/silk fibroin/strontium carbonate (PCL/SF/SrCO3) was electrospun on the prepared layer. Then, they were characterized. The mechanical properties, water uptake, degradation rate, wettability, porosity, and bioactivity of the electrospun membrane were scrutinized in vitro. Cytotoxicity of the samples was assessed by using osteoblast-like cells (SAOS-2) and L929 fibroblasts. Moreover, the cell adhesion, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, and calcium deposition through alizarin red staining were conducted. Results revealed that the bilayer structure doubled the optimum mechanical properties and the addition of SrCO3 up to 15%–20% increased ALP activity, calcium deposition, and bioactivity. According to the results, the nanofibrous bilayer membrane containing 20 wt% SrCO3, 20 wt% SF, and 60 wt% PCL was chosen as the optimum sample. Therefore, this membrane could be applied in guided bone regeneration (GBR).  相似文献

In this paper, we address the problem of recovering the true underlying model of a surface while performing the segmentation. First, and in order to solve the model selection problem, we introduce a novel criterion, which is based on minimising strain energy of fitted surfaces. We then evaluate its performance and compare it with many other existing model selection techniques. Using this criterion, we then present a robust range data segmentation algorithm capable of segmenting complex objects with planar and curved surfaces. The presented algorithm simultaneously identifies the type (order and geometric shape) of each surface and separates all the points that are part of that surface. This paper includes the segmentation results of a large collection of range images obtained from objects with planar and curved surfaces. The resulting segmentation algorithm successfully segments various possible types of curved objects. More importantly, the new technique is capable of detecting the association between separated parts of a surface, which has the same Cartesian equation while segmenting a scene. This aspect is very useful in some industrial applications of range data analysis.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to develop chitosan/gelatin composite films embedded with various amounts of wool nanoparticles, which were produced by an environmental friendly process. Films loaded with wool nanoparticles were subjected to physiochemical, biological, and mechanical characterization. The obtained results showed that incorporation of wool nanoparticles into chitosan/gelatin composite led to a reduction in swelling, moisture content and dissolution degree of the films. In vitro degradation test revealed that the nanoparticles‐embedded composites had a lower degradation rate than that of chitosan/gelatin composite. Besides, composite films containing wool nanoparticles showed an improvement in the stability in phosphate buffered saline. On the other hand, tensile strength and elongation at break decreased upon loading the films with wool nanoparticles.
