Uniformly redundant array coded apertures have proven to be useful in the design of collimators for x-ray astronomy. They were initially expected to be equally successful in single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Unfortunately, the SPECT images produced by this collimator contain artifacts, which mask the true picture and can lead to false diagnosis. Monte Carlo simulation has shown that the formation of a composite image will significantly reduce these artifacts. A simulation of a tumor in a compressed breast phantom has produced a composite image, which clearly indicates the presence of a 5 mm x 5 mm x 5 mm tumor with a 6:1 intensity ratio relative to the background tissue.  相似文献

Using template-containing silica microspheres as a precursor, novel ordered mesoporous silica nanoparticles with a narrow pore size distribution and high crystallinity have been synthesized by various hydrothermal merging processes. Several architectures like chains, dumbbells, triangles, squares and flowers have been discovered. The linking mechanisms of these interacting silica spheres leading to the formation of ordered nano-structures are studied by HRTEM, HAADF-STEM and electron tomography and a plausible model is presented for several merging processes.  相似文献

'Colossal magnetoresistance' in perovskite manganites such as La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO), is caused by the interplay of ferro-paramagnetic, metal-insulator and structural phase transitions. Moreover, different electronic phases can coexist on a very fine scale resulting in percolative electron transport. Here we report on (LCMO)1-x:(MgO)x (0 < x < or = 0.8) epitaxial nano-composite films in which the structure and magnetotransport properties of the manganite nanoclusters can be tuned by the tensile stress originating from the MgO second phase. With increasing x, the lattice of LCMO was found to expand, yielding a bulk tensile strain. The largest colossal magnetoresistance of 10(5)% was observed at the percolation threshold in the conductivity at xc 0.3, which is coupled to a structural phase transition from orthorhombic (0 < x < or 0.1) to rhombohedral R3c structure (0.33 < or = x < or = 0.8). An increase of the Curie temperature for the Rc phase was observed. These results may provide a general method for controlling the magnetotransport properties of manganite-based composite films by appropriate choice of the second phase.  相似文献

Calculation of the scattering pattern from aggregates of spheres through the T-matrix approach yields high-precision results but at a high-computational cost, especially when the aggregate concerned is large or is composed of large-size spheres. With reference to a specific but representative aggregate, we discuss how and to what extent the computational effort can be reduced but still preserve the qualitative features of the signature of the aggregate concerned.  相似文献

We report ultra-efficient multiple exciton generation (MEG) for single photon absorption in colloidal PbSe and PbS quantum dots (QDs). We employ transient absorption spectroscopy and present measurement data acquired for both intraband as well as interband probe energies. Quantum yields of 300% indicate the creation, on average, of three excitons per absorbed photon for PbSe QDs at photon energies that are four times the QD energy gap. Results indicate that the threshold photon energy for MEG in QDs is twice the lowest exciton absorption energy. We find that the biexciton effect, which shifts the transition energy for absorption of a second photon, influences the early time transient absorption data and may contribute to a modulation observed when probing near the lowest interband transition. We present experimental and theoretical values of the size-dependent interband transition energies for PbSe QDs. We present experimental and theoretical values of the size-dependent interband transition energies for PbSe QDs, and we also introduce a new model for MEG based on the coherent superposition of multiple excitonic states.  相似文献

Two numerical techniques are used to calculate the effect of large vessel counter-current flow on hyperthermic temperature distributions. One is based on the Navier-Stokes equation for steady-state flow, and the second employs a convective-type boundary condition at the interface of the vessel walls. Steady-state temperature fields were calculated for two energy absorption rate distributions (ARD) in a cylindrical tissue model having two pairs of counter-current vessels (one pair with equal diameter vessels and another pair with unequal diameters). The first assumed a uniform ARD throughout cylinder; the second ARD was calculated for a tissue cylinder inside an existing four antenna Radiofrequency (RF) array. A tissue equivalent phantom was constructed to verify the numerical calculations. Temperatures induced with the RF array were measured using a noninvasive magnetic resonance imaging technique based on the chemical shift of water. Temperatures calculated using the two numerical techniques are in good agreement with the measured data. The results show: 1) the convective-type boundary condition technique reduces computation time by a factor of ten when compared to the fully conjugated method with little quantitative difference (approximately 0.3 degree C) in the numerical accuracy and 2) the use of noninvasive magnetic resonance imaging (thermal imaging) to quantitatively access the temperature perturbations near large vessels is feasible using the chemical shift technique.  相似文献
