Meta-heuristic interval methods of search of optimal in average control of nonlinear determinate systems with incomplete information about its parameters

This work considers algorithms of optimal control of nonlinear continuous determinate systems with feedback by the output variables with incomplete information about its parameters. It is proposed to determine optimal in average control in the form of decomposition by basis functions. Metaheuristic interval optimization methods (adaptive interval algorithm, interval explosion search and interval genetic algorithm) are used to find decomposition coefficients. Proposed algorithms are implemented in a form of software complex which was used to solve the interception problem.     

A rapid morphometric method for determining thyroid gland function

The incidence of postoperative hypothyrosis after subtotal resection of the thyroid for diffuse toxic goiter is rather high, 40-50% according to many authors. A method is suggested permitting assessment of the share of "active zones" during surgery. A certain amount of thyroid tissue is left with due consideration for this share, this amount being sufficient to attain an euthyroid state in the postoperative period.     

Synthesis of complex carbonitrides Ti1−x WxC1−y Ny

We have studied the effect of process factors (temperature, nitrogen pressure, composition) on synthesis of carbonitrides Ti_1?xW_xC_1?yN_y from the starting components (WC, TiC, TiN) with particle size 10–12 μm. Under realistic conditions, we have determined the range of existence for homogeneous cubic carbonitrides. As the tungsten carbide content increases, the temperature needed for synthesis of homogeneous carbonitrides increases. Synthesis of complex carbonitrides occurs in two steps: via formation of titanium carbonitride followed by dissolution of WC in the latter, and by formation of the complex titanium-tungsten carbonitride. We have established that the major reason for the appearance of the W₂C phase is thermal dissociation of titanium nitride.     

Development of uranium carbide targets for the on-line production of neutron-rich isotopes

A number of on-line and off-line tests have been performed at the IRIS (investigation of radioactive isotopes at synchrocyclotron) facility in order to develop uranium carbide targets with a high density (11 g/cm³) for the on-line production of neutron-rich isotopes by fission of ²³⁸U. A 1 GeV proton beam was used to bombard two kinds of targets held at temperatures in the range of 1900–2100 °C. The first one was a target-ion source assembly slightly modified to withstand 3 months of continuous heating at a temperature of about 2050 °C. The second unit was of a new kind, where ionisation takes place in the target volume itself. A comparison of the on-line isotopic yields before and after heating for 3 months is here reported. The yields and release times of Rb, Cs and In are compared with the ones obtained from a standard reference target, as measured in previous experiments.

The use of reverse osmosis technology for water treatment in power engineering

The results of operation of DVS-M/150 installations for a total output of 150 m³/h (ZAO NPK Mediana-Fil’tr) at the Water Treatment Department of the Novocherkassk Thermal Power Plant (NchGRES) are presented, and the peculiarities of servicing reverse-osmotic systems under specific conditions of industrial power engineering are analyzed. In the range of high pH values, the disagreement between experimental and calculation data obtained by means of standard models is recognized.
