The aim of this study was to assess the hygiene practices of food handlers in municipal schools of Natal, Brazil, where 27 public schools were evaluated, using a checklist and microbiological analysis of hands. It was found that 74.1% of the handlers did not receive periodic training, 51.9% did not undergo annual health examinations and 100% did not practice proper hand hygiene, a situation that reflected significantly (p < 0.05) in hand contamination, in which fecal coliforms were detected on 55.6% of the hands analyzed. It was concluded that the schools studied did not have appropriate hygienic conditions, suggesting the need for interventions that ensure the quality of school food served to the children. 相似文献

In this research report, a sintering process of porous ceramic materials based on Al2O3 was employed using a method where a cation precursor solution is embedded in an organic fibrous cotton matrix. For porous green bodies, the precursor solution and cotton were annealed at temperatures in the range of 100–1600 °C using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis to obtain a porous body formation and disposal process containing organic fibers and precursor solution. In a structure consisting of open pores and interconnected nanometric grains, despite the low porosity of around 40% (calculated geometrically), nitrogen physisorption determined a specific surface area of 14 m2/g, which shows much sintering of porous bodies. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analytical methods revealed a predominant amount of α-Al2O3 in the sintered samples. Thermal properties of the sintered Al2O3 fibers were obtained by using the Laser Flash which resulted in the lower thermal conductivity obtained by α-Al2O3 and therefore improved its potential use as an insulating material. 相似文献

A rigorous mathematical approach based on stochastic geometry concepts is presented to extend previous Johnson–Mehl, Avrami, Kolmogorov treatment of transformation kinetics to situations in which nuclei are not homogeneously located in space but are located in clusters. An exact analytical solution is presented here for the first time assuming that nucleation sites follow a Matérn cluster process. The influence of Matérn cluster process parameters on subsequent growth kinetics and the microstructural path are illustrated by means of numerical examples. Moreover, using the superposition principle, exact analytical solutions are also obtained when nucleation takes place by a combination of a Matérn cluster process and an inhomogeneous Poisson point process. This paper proposes real linear transceivers employing minimum redundancy, unlike the standard block transceivers that require, at least, L elements of redundancy, where L is the channel order. In all block-based systems, there is an inherent interblock interference (IBI) that can be eliminated by inserting redundancy. For transceivers based on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT), the redundancy induces a circulant channel matrix, allowing superfast implementations. Although it has been known for some time that the minimum redundancy for IBI-free designs of block transceivers is ⌈L/2⌉, only recently practical DFT-based solutions using minimum redundancy were proposed. However, the extension of these solutions to real transforms, such as the discrete Hartley transform (DHT), is not straightforward. The only known solution imposes a symmetry on the channel model that is unlikely to be met in practice. This paper proposes transceivers with practical zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) receivers using DHT, diagonal, and antidiagonal matrices. The resulting systems are asymptotically as simple as orthogonal frequency-division multiplex (OFDM) and single-carrier with frequency-domain (SC-FD) equalization transceivers. In addition, they do not enforce constraints on the channel model. Several computer simulations indicate the higher throughput of the proposals as compared to the standard solutions. 相似文献

Plants respond to herbivory by synthesizing and releasing novel blends of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Natural enemies are attracted to these VOCs, but little is known about the effects of these chemicals on the herbivores themselves. We studied the effect of Thaumastocoris peregrinus herbivory on VOCs released by Eucalyptus benthamii plants and the responses of this herbivore to the VOCs. In total, 12 compounds released by E. benthamii were identified. Five compounds (β-pinene, linalool, 9-epi-(E)-caryophyllene, viridiflorol, and one unidentified compound) emitted after herbivore and mechanical damage were not detected in collections from undamaged plants. The three most abundant VOCs, α-pinene, aromadendrene, and globulol, were released in greater quantities from herbivore-damaged plants compared to plants with mechanical damage, which, in turn, released greater amounts than undamaged (control) plants. The VOCs emitted after herbivore damage did not differ during the photophase and scotophase in either quantity or quality. In an olfactometer, mated female T. peregrinus showed a preference for undamaged plants over herbivore-damaged plants, and also for hexane over α-pinene at an amount equivalent to that released by a herbivore-damaged plant. Both gelatin and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) can be cross linked with glutaraldehyde (GLU). In the case of gelatin, the GLU reacts with each ε-NH2 functional group of adjacent lysine residues, while for PVA, the GLU reacts with two adjacent hydroxyl groups, forming acetal bridges. Thus it can be considered possible to cross link adjacent macromolecules of gelatin and PVA using GLU. In this context, the aims of this work were the development of biodegradable films based on blends of gelatin and poly(vinyl alcohol) cross linked with GLU, and the characterization of some of their main physical and functional properties. All the films were produced from film-forming solutions (FFS) containing 2 g macromolecules (PVA + gelatin)/100 g FFS, 25 g glycerol/100 g macromolecules, and 4 g GLU (25% solution)/100 g FFS. The FFS were prepared with two concentrations of PVA (20 or 50 g PVA/100 g macromolecules) and two reaction temperatures: 90 or 55 °C, applied for 30 min. The films were obtained after drying (30 °C/24 h) and conditioning at 25 °C and 58% of relative humidity for 7 days, and were then characterized. The results for the color parameters, mechanical properties, phase transitions and infrared spectra showed that some chemical modifications occurred, principally for the gelatin. However, in general, all the characteristics of the films were either typical of films based on blends of these macromolecules without cross linking, or slightly higher. A greater improvement in the properties of this material was probably not observed due to the crystallinity of the PVA, which has a melting point above 90 °C. The presence of microcrystals in the polymer chain probably reduced macromolecular mobility, hindering the reaction. Thus more research is necessary to produce biodegradable films with improved properties. 相似文献

Synthetic basic sodalite, Na8[AlSiO4]6(OH)2·2H2O, cubic, P43n, (also known as hydroxysodalite hydrate) was prepared by the alkaline activation of amorphous aluminosilicate glass, obtained from the phase separation of Class F fly ash. The sample was subjected to a process similar to geopolymerization, using high concentrations of a NaOH solution at 90 °C for 24 hours. Basic sodalite was chosen as a representative analogue of the zeolite precursor existing in Na-based Class F fly ash geopolymers. To determine its bulk modulus, high-pressure synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction was applied using a diamond anvil cell (DAC) up to a pressure of 4.5 GPa. A curve-fit with a truncated third-order Birch–Murnaghan equation of state with a fixed K'o = 4 to pressure-normalized volume data yielded the isothermal bulk modulus, Ko = 43 ± 4 GPa, indicating that basic sodalite is more compressible than sodalite, possibly due to a difference in interactions between the framework host and the guest molecules. 相似文献
