Filament formation and dissolution in the system Ag(Cu)/ZrO2/Pt were observed by Liu et al. [Adv. Mater. 2012, 24, 1844]. Their explanation of the phenomena is shown here to be inappropriate. Various situations, including the “bipolar electrode” shown in the figure, are considered and the difference between the behavior in electrochemical metallization memories (ECMs) and valence change memories (VCMs) outlined. Of crucial importance for distinguishing ECM from VCM behavior, that is, the effects of cation and anion migration, is the choice of the solid materials used to transport metal cations. A possible explanation of the phenomena is proposed.  相似文献

Abstract

We propose an experiment that is a variation of the Schrödinger's cat ′paradox' wherein the entanglement between a microscopic system and a macroscopic system is of primary interest. The experiment involves tunable entanglement and serves as a model for controllable decoherence in the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics where atoms interact dispersively with a cavity field initially in a coherent state. The interaction produces an entanglement between the atom and the field, and the degree of entanglement can be probed by subjecting the atom to resonant classical radiation after it leaves the cavity. The amplitude of the resulting Rabi oscillations reflects the degree of the entanglement, there being no Rabi oscillations when the entanglement is maximum. We show that the cavity damping does not affect the experiment.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study the input control and dispatching rules that might be used in a flow shop controlled by a constant work-in-process system (CONWIP) within a make-to-stock environment. The CONWIP system was originally conceived for a single card-count control and a FCFS dispatching rule, although in this paper it is shown that its performance can be increased by using other input controls as well as different dispatching rules.  相似文献

Up to now there is no sufficient technique to detect transverse cracks in austenitic and dissimilar welds which recently are of increasing interest in the integrity surveillance of nuclear power plants as well as in quality control of longitudinally welded pipes. Weld inspection by interpretation of single A-scans will lead to erroneous results due to effects caused by anisotropy and in worst case might leave flaws undetected. Therefore, imaging techniques such as the synthetic aperture focusing technique (SAFT) should be used. If the SAFT algorithm is applied on data taken from austenitic welds, the inhomogeneous, anisotropic structure of these welds has to be taken into account in order to properly attribute amplitudes measured in A-scans to the corresponding coordinates in the region of interest. While this has been investigated in the past, all attempts so far were limited to the imaging of longitudinal cracks which requires a less complicated setup than the imaging of transverse cracks. In this paper we give an outline of our attempts to reconstruct images of transverse cracks in different welds. For this purpose a SAFT program based on ray tracing and a layered structure weld model derived from an empirical model of grain orientations in welds are used. The results of the image reconstruction on experimental data are shown and compared to images obtained by assuming an isotropic homogeneous model. Root reflection and crack tip echo are clearly visible which allows an estimation of size and position of the crack with good accuracy.  相似文献

HEXOS (high efficiency extreme ultraviolet overview spectrometer) is an optimized set of four efficient VUV/XUV spectrometers. It is suitable for a complete coverage of the wavelength range of interest with sufficient spectral resolution. The spectrometers cover the entire wavelength range of 2.5–160 nm with high performance (up to 9999 spectra at spectra rate of 1000 s?1). To operate according to the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) control and data acquisition guidelines all necessary concepts for safety, autonomous and subordinated operation, and segment program controlled experiment operation will be implemented at HEXOS. The design of the HEXOS control and data acquisition system and the implementation of the main W7-X control and data acquisition concepts are described. An outlook on the test phase at the TEXTOR (Tokamak Experiment for Technology Oriented Research) device and the commissioning phase at W7-X is given.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The study was conducted to determine the effect of graded levels of feed intake on apparent (AID) and standardized (SID) ileal digestibilities of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AA) in diets for piglets. The piglets were surgically fitted with simple T‐cannulas at the distal ileum. The cornstarch–casein–soybean meal‐based diets were fed at three graded levels of feed intake corresponding to 30, 45 and 60 g kg?1 body weight (BW) per day. RESULTS: The AID and SID of most AA were quadratically affected by the feed intake level (P?0.05). Initially, both AID and SID of most AA increased up to 1.9 percentage units as the feed intake level was increased from 30 to 45 g kg?1 BW. Thereafter, these AID and SID values decreased by 2.6 and 2.7 percentage units, respectively, as the feed intake level was further increased from 45 to 60 g kg?1 BW. CONCLUSION: Because the voluntary feed intake is highly variable in piglets after weaning, comparison of ileal AA digestibilities between and within studies may be confounded by variations in feed intake level. Thus, when designing digestibility studies with piglets, a standardization of feed intake should be taken into consideration. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献
