Pb-free solderable surface finishing is essential to implement Pb-free solder assembly in order to meet with the growing demand of environmental consciousness to eliminate Pb from electronic products. Two types of widely applicable Pb-free surface finishing technologies are developed. One is the multilayer-system including Pd with Ni undercoat. Heat-resistance of Pd enables whole-surface-plating on to leadframe before IC-assembling process. The other is the double-layer-system with low-melting-point-materials, for example, thicker Sn underlayer and thinner Sn-Bi alloy overlayer, dilutes Sn-Bi alloy’s defects of harmful reactivity along with substrate metal and mechanical brittleness with keeping its advantages of solder-wettability and no whisker.  相似文献

The generation of oxygen free radicals was investigated using cytochemistry and its energy-filtering transmission electron microscopy in reference to the toxic mediator for the herbicide paraquat. When isolated intact mitochondria from rat livers were incubated in a medium containing paraquat and NADH, a mitochondrial NADH-quinone oxidoreductase activity generated superoxide anions to cause the destruction of mitochondria which resulted in cell death. The superoxide anions were immediately converted into hydrogen peroxide, which then formed cerium perhydroxide deposits in the presence of cerium ions and precipitated on the outer surface of the mitochondrial outer membrane. This localization was also specifically identified by energy spectral imaging and image-electron energy loss spectral analyses. Precipitation reaction was scavenged by the addition of either cytochrome c or catalase and inhibited by dicoumarol (an inhibitor of NAD(P)H-quinone oxidoreductases). These cytochemical energy-filtering transmission electron microscopic results indicated that paraquat generated free radicals from the outer membrane of mitochondria.  相似文献

The authors have proposed FRIENDS—Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent Electrical eNergy Delivery System—as a future electric power distribution system. The most important idea of FRIENDS is to install new facilities called Quality Control Centers (QCCs) between the distribution substation and customers. By controlling QCCs appropriately, various purposes of FRIENDS can be achieved. It is indispensable to design the concrete interior structure of QCC in order to realize FRIENDS. This paper proposes the interior structure and control methods of QCC from the viewpoint of power conditioning functions by energy storage system in QCC. In this paper, it is assumed that SMES is used as the energy storage system in QCC. The proposed interior structure is based on the concept of UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply). In this paper, SMES is installed in the DC side of UPS. Further, this paper proposes control methods of SMES and PWM converters. The proposed control methods are used to satisfy various purposes, such as load fluctuation compensation, load leveling, and cooperation with dispersed‐type generator. Finally, the validity of these control methods is confirmed through transient analysis PSCAD/EMTDC. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Melanocytes in the skin are derived from the embryonic neural crest. Recently, mutations in endothelin 3 and the endothelin receptor B genes have been shown to result in gross pigment defects, indicating that this signalling pathway is required for melanocyte development. We have examined the effects of endothelins on melanocyte progenitors in cultures of mouse neural crest. Firstly, they stimulate an increase in progenitor number and act synergistically with another factor, Steel factor, in the survival and proliferation of the progenitors. These findings are consistent with findings from mice with natural mutations in the endothelin receptor B gene, which show an early loss of melanocyte progenitors. Secondly, endothelins induce differentiation of the progenitors into fully mature pigmented melanocytes. This finding is consistent with the expression of endothelins in the skin of mice at the initiation of pigmentation. The melanocytes generated in endothelin-treated cultures also become responsive to alpha melanocyte-stimulating hormone, which then acts to regulate the activity of the pigmentation pathway. These findings indicate two key roles for endothelin in melanocyte development: regulation of expansion of the progenitor pool and differentiation of progenitors into mature melanocytes.  相似文献

We developed a simulation scheme to predict the dynamic behavior of colloidal dispersion called “smoothed profile (SP) method”. SP method provides a coupling scheme between continuum fluid dynamics and rigid-body dynamics through smoothed profile of colloidal particles. Moreover, SP method can incorporate multi-component fluids, such systems as charged colloids in electrolyte solutions. Numerical results which assess hydrodynamic interactions of colloidal dispersions are presented to validate SP method. Application of SP method is not restricted to a Newtonian solvent, but any constitutive model can be handled. Henceforth, it can be suitable to treat colloidal dispersions in complex fluids where solvent-mediated interaction dominate dynamical behaviors of colloids.  相似文献

When geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) are applied as bottom liners at waste containment facilities, they are naturally prehydrated by absorbing moisture in the underlying base layers. In order to evaluate the effects of cations contained in waste leachates, this study investigated the effects of the water content distribution of the GCLs prehydrated with actual soils on their hydraulic conductivities against CaCl2 solutions. The “prehydration tests”, which were conducted prior to the hydraulic conductivity tests, showed that the water content distribution of the prehydrated GCLs depends on the properties of the GCLs and the base layers. In particular, drastic differences between GCLs with powdered bentonite and GCLs with granular bentonite were observed in the prehydration water content and its distribution. Prehydrated GCLs with powdered bentonite had a higher water content and a more homogenous distribution than those with granular bentonite. The hydraulic conductivity tests showed that most of the prehydrated GCLs exhibit a low hydraulic conductivity of k?1.0×10-8 cm/s against CaCl2 solutions with 0.1-0.5 M. However, GCLs with granular bentonite may be difficult to homogeneously prehydrate and exhibit an unstable hydraulic conductivity, which varies from k=2.9×10-9 cm/s to k=1.5×10-6 cm/s. The homogeneity of the water content distribution has been considered an important factor to obtain a required barrier performance under prehydration conditions, which are naturally generated in actual sites.  相似文献

Fatigue crack growth behaviour under intermittent overstressing was investigated in moist air, dry air, nitrogen and vacuum with low carbon steels under tension-compression loading with a few tests under compression-tension loading. A very small number of cycles of overstress applied intermittently during a very large number of cycles of understress below threshold caused significant acceleration, of about one hundred times, in crack growth rate as compared to the case of steady cyclic stress in the cases of moist air, dry air and nitrogen. In the region of low understress, the acceleration in moist air was appreciably less than that in dry air and nitrogen due to oxide-induced crack closure. The acceleration in vacuum was smaller than that in other environments over all understress levels, possibly because of rewelding. There was no effect of an overstress sequence on the acceleration.  相似文献

A liquid lens is proposed that uses acoustic radiation force with no mechanical moving parts. It consists of a cylindrical acrylic cell filled with two immiscible liquids (degassed water and silicone oil) and a concave ultrasound transducer. The focal point of the transducer is located on the oil-water interface, which functions as a lens. The acoustic radiation force is generated when there is a difference in the acoustic energy densities of different media. An acoustic standing wave was generated in the axial direction of the lens and the variation of the shape of the oil-water interface was observed by optical coherence tomography (OCT). The lens profile can be rapidly changed by varying the acoustic radiation force from the transducer. The kinematic viscosity of silicone oil was optimized to minimize the response times of the lens. Response times of 40 and 80 ms when switching ultrasonic radiation on and off were obtained with a kinematic viscosity of 200 cSt. The path of a laser beam transmitted through the lens was calculated by ray-tracing simulations based on the experimental results obtained by OCT. The transmitted laser beam could be focused by applying an input voltage. The liquid lens could be operated as a variable-focus lens by varying the input voltage.  相似文献
