The effect of random longitudinal motion of an image is discussed. Numerical results are given for systems with circular and annular pupils. It is shown that, for a given value of the image motion, the time-averaged Strehl ratio is larger for a larger value of the obscuration ratio of an annular pupil. We also show that the time-averaged image irradiance distribution near its center and the corresponding encircled power can be obtained from their aberration-free values by multiplying them by the Strehl ratio.  相似文献

The HfO2 high-k thin films have been deposited on p-type (1 0 0) silicon wafer using RF magnetron sputtering technique. The XRD, AFM and Ellipsometric characterizations have been performed for crystal structure, surface morphology and thickness measurements respectively. The monoclinic structured, smooth surface HfO2 thin films with 9.45 nm thickness have been used for Al/HfO2/p-Si metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) structures fabrication. The fabricated Al/HfO2/Si structure have been used for extracting electrical properties viz dielectric constant, EOT, barrier height, doping concentration and interface trap density through capacitance voltage and current-voltage measurements. The dielectric constant, EOT, barrier height, effective charge carriers, interface trap density and leakage current density are determined are 22.47, 1.64 nm, 1.28 eV, 0.93 × 1010, 9.25 × 1011 cm−2 eV−1 and 9.12 × 10−6 A/cm2 respectively for annealed HfO2 thin films.  相似文献

The polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) based fuel cells are clean alternative energy systems that hold excellent potential for cost effectiveness, durability, and relatively high overall efficiency. PEM fuel cell is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as the main candidate to replace the internal combustion engine in transportation applications. Metallic bipolar plates and membrane electrode assembly (MEA) are two crucial components of a PEM power stack and their durability and fabrication cost must be optimized to allow fuel cells to penetrate the commercial market and compete with other energy sources.  相似文献

Fibrinolytic enzymes are important in treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The present work reports isolation, screening and identification of marine cultures for production of fibrinolytic enzymes. A potent fibrinolytic enzyme-producing bacterium was isolated from marine niches and identified as Bacillus subtilis ICTF-1 on the basis of the 16S rRNA gene sequencing and biochemical properties. Further, media optimization using L(18)-orthogonal array method resulted in enhanced production of fibrinolytic enzyme (8814 U/mL) which was 2.6 fold higher than in unoptimized medium (3420 U/mL). In vitro assays revealed that the enzyme could catalyze blood clot lysis effectively, indicating that this enzyme could be a useful thrombolytic agent. A fibrinolytic enzyme was purified from the culture supernatant to homogeneity by three step procedures with a 34.42-fold increase in specific activity and 7.5% recovery. This purified fibrinolytic enzyme had molecular mass of 28 kDa, optimal temperature and pH at 50 °C and 9, respectively. It was stable at pH 5.0-11.0 and temperature of 25-37 °C. The enzyme activity was activated by Ca(2+) and obviously inhibited by Zn(2+), Fe(3)(+), Hg(2+) and PMSF. The purified fibrinolytic enzyme showed high stability towards various surfactants and was relatively stable towards oxidizing agent. Considering these properties purified fibrinolytic enzyme also finds potential application in laundry detergents in addition to thrombolytic agent. The gene encoding fibrinolytic enzyme was isolated and its DNA sequence was determined. Compared the full DNA sequence with those in NCBI, it was considered to be a subtilisin like serine-protease.  相似文献

Conducting polymers, especially polyaniline (PAni), have been extensively used in biosensor applications. A protocol for covalent immobilization of human IgG on polyaniline using glutaraldehyde as the cross-linker is described in this report and utilized in development of a piezoelectric immunosensor. Here, PAni was used as the substrate for immobilization. The electropolymerization parameters were optimized to get suitable thickness and surface morphology of the PAni for obtaining high density and uniformity of immobilized antibodies on the surface of our films. Possible reaction between PAni thin films and glutaraldehyde was explored using FT-IR characterization in grazing angle mode and XPS. The protocol has been characterized with the help of quartz crystal microbalance analysis. An antibody surface density of 4.86 ng/mm2 was obtained. A piezoelectric biosensor developed for detection of IgG with the proposed protocol was capable of differentiating the target analyte concentrations between 500 ng/mL and 25 microg/mL with nonspecific binding of approximately 10%.  相似文献

The effect of preoxidation of two highly caking coals in the temperature range 120–250 °C on weight loss during pyrolysis in a N2 atmosphere up to 1000 °C and reactivity of the resultant chars in 0.1 MPa air at 470 °C has been investigated. Preoxidation markedly enhances char reactivity (by a factor of up to 40); the effect on char reactivity is more pronounced for lower levels of preoxidation. For a given level of preoxidation, the oxidation temperature and the presence of water vapour in the air used during preoxidation have essentially no effect on weight loss during pyrolysis and char reactivity. An increase in particle size of the caking coals reduces the rate of preoxidation as well as subsequent char reactivity. Preoxidation of caking coals sharply increases the surface area of the chars produced. Compared to heat treatment in a N2 atmosphere, pyrolysis in H2 of either the as-received or preoxidized coal results in a further increase in weight loss and a decrease in subsequent char reactivity.  相似文献

Fluidization is widely used in industries and has been extensively studied, both experimentally and theoretically, in the past. However, most of these studies focus on spherical particles while in practice granules are rarely spherical. Particle shape can have a significant effect on fluidization characteristics. It is therefore important to study the effect of particle shape on fluidization behavior in detail. In this study, experiments in pseudo‐2D fluidized beds are used to characterize the fluidization of spherocylindrical (rod‐like) Geldart D particles of aspect ratio 4. Pressure drop and optical measurement methods (Digital Image Analysis, Particle Image Velocimetry, Particle Tracking Velocimetry) are employed to measure bed height, particle orientation, particle circulation, stacking, and coordination number. The commonly used correlations to determine the pressure drop across a bed of nonspherical particles are compared to experiments. Experimental observations and measurements have shown that rod‐like particles are prone to interlocking and channeling behavior. Well above the minimum fluidization velocity, vigorous bubbling fluidization is observed, with groups of interlocked particles moving upwards, breaking up, being thrown high in the freeboard region and slowly raining down as dispersed phase. At high flowrates, a circulation pattern develops with particles moving up through the center and down at the walls. Reverse electrodialysis (RED) is one of the technologies used to harness ‘Blue Energy’, which is generated from the controlled separation of ions between salt water and fresh water through cation and anion exchange membranes (CEM/AEM) stack with end electrodes. The spacers present in between CEM and AEM allows the flow of salt and fresh water significantly affecting the fouling and concentration polarization in the RED cell. The present work focuses on improvement in flow path design, which may be used in place of mesh spacers in order to reduce pressure drop and enhance shear stress on the surface of the membrane to reduce concentration polarization. A three-dimensional direct numerical simulation of the Navier–Stokes equation is conducted using Fluent 14.0 to analyze four different flow field designs, including serpentine, criss-cross, rhombus, diamond, and standard mesh spacers. The simulation predicted closely the experimental data on pressure drop for the mesh spacers available in the literature. The present study points out that the diamond type flow field design, which combines characteristics of mesh spacers and flow field plates, gives lesser pressure drop per unit length with the increase in velocity within the same range of shear stress generated in mesh spacers. In other words, net power density of RED would improve with the use of diamond type spacer flow field with the decrease in concentration polarization loss and pumping power density.  相似文献
