The importance of transparent conductive film is increasing due to its use in applications such as touch‐panel devices. Although indium tin oxide is widely used because of its high conductivity and transparency, conductive polymers are being studied as alternative materials that avoid the use of rare metals and the brittleness associated with existing systems. Polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT)/polyethylene sulfonic acid (PSS) is drawing a lot of attention due to its well‐balanced conductivity, transparency, film formability, and chemical stability. The nonconductive PSS reportedly covers the conductive PEDOT. The PSS shell provides carrier and film‐formability to PEDOT but is also a barrier that hinders electrical conductivity. Therefore, the PEDOT film formability is explored supported by a substrate without the addition of PSS. The “hierarchical nanoporous layer glass” holds the PSS‐free PEDOT with its nanopores to form a homogeneous, transparent film. The PSS‐free PEDOT film thus achieves transparency of over 85% and resistivity of below 500 Ω sq?1. 相似文献

The plasmonic properties of noble metals facilitate their use for in vivo bio‐applications such as targeted drug delivery and cancer cell therapy. Nanosilver is best suited for such applications as it has the lowest plasmonic losses among all such materials in the UV‐visible spectrum. Its toxicity, however, can destroy surrounding healthy tissues and thus, hinders its safe use. Here, that toxicity against a model biological system (Escherichia coli) is “cured” or blocked by coating nanosilver hermetically with a about 2 nm thin SiO2 layer in one‐step by a scalable flame aerosol method followed by swirl injection of a silica precursor vapor (hexamethyldisiloxane) without reducing the plasmonic performance of the enclosed or encapsulated silver nanoparticles (20–40 nm in diameter as determined by X‐ray diffraction and microscopy). This creates the opportunity to safely use powerful nanosilver for intracellular bio‐applications. The label‐free biosensing and surface bio‐functionalization of these ready‐to‐use, non‐toxic (benign) Ag nanoparticles is presented by measuring the adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA) in a model sensing experiment. Furthermore, the silica coating around nanosilver prevents its agglomeration or flocculation (as determined by thermal annealing, optical absorption spectroscopy and microscopy) and thus, enhances its biosensitivity, including bioimaging as determined by dark field illumination. 相似文献

The specific interactions between several low‐molecular‐weight diamino compounds and poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) have been investigated by FT‐IR. It was found that PCL and 3,3′‐diaminodiphenylmethane (3,3′‐DADPM) interact through strong intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the blend. Thermal and mechanical properties of PCL/3,3′‐DADPM blends were investigated by DSC and tensile measurements, respectively. The glass transition temperature of the blend increases while both the melting point and the elongation‐at‐break of the blend decrease with the increase of 3,3′‐DADPM content. Besides 3,3′‐DADPM, several other low‐molecular‐weight compounds containing two amino groups, such as o‐phenylenediamine or 1,6‐diaminohexane, were also added into PCL and the corresponding blend systems were investigated by FT‐IR and DSC. We have previously identified and cloned a human gene, D40, that is preferentially expressed in testis among normal organs, while it is widely expressed in various human tumor cell lines and primary tumors derived from different organs. In this report, we have examined the expression and localization of this protein in human testis with an antibody specific to D40 protein. In Western analyses, the anti-D40 antibody recognized a major band with a molecular mass of 300 kDa and a minor band of 250 kDa. These bands were not observed in the testis lysates from patients with Sertoli-cell-only syndrome and with Kleinfelter syndrome, who lack germ cells of the testis, indicating that D40 protein is expressed in the germ cells of normal testis. Immunohistochemical studies have revealed that D40 protein is highly expressed in spermatocytes and in the pre-acrosome of round spermatids. In the acrosome, D40 protein expression is observed not inside but outside the acrosome membrane. This is consistent with the finding that the amino-acid sequence at the amino terminal of the D40 protein lacks a hydrophobic signal peptide that is required for proteins to translocate to the membrane. Expression of D40 protein is observed in the acrosome of ejaculated spermatozoa as well, although the level is low compared with that in the pre-acrosome of spermatids. These results suggest that D40 protein plays important roles in spermatogenesis, especially in the formation and maintenance of the acrosome. 相似文献

A potassium and calcium co-promoted nickel catalyst (KCaNi/-Al2O3) prepared by a direct impregnation method possessed a high activity, high stability and excellent coke resistance properties in CH4 reforming with CO2. XRD, XPS and H2-TPR characterizations indicated that (i) Ca and K strengthened the interaction between Ni and -Al2O3 and promoted the formation of a unique NiAl2O4 phase on the surface of the catalyst and (ii) Ca and K increased the dispersion of Ni and retarded its sintering. Coking reactions (CH4 temperature-programmed decomposition and O2-TPO) disclosed that K reduced carbon formation via CH4 decomposition. 相似文献

In order to investigate the effect of molecular weight on fatigue characteristics in the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), tension–tension fatigue tests of notched specimens were carried out in the present study. The effects of frequency and stress ratio on the fatigue characteristics were also investigated and fractography was discussed. The fatigue strength does not increase with increasing molecular weight. The fatigue strength might be influenced by the high degree of crystallinity in spite of the decreased tie molecule density in this study. Almost no effect of frequency on the number of cycles to failure can be observed. However, the higher the frequency, the higher the crack tip temperature. The effects of heat and strain rate on the fatigue strength must be considered in polymer materials. At a high stress ratio, the stress–number of cycles to failure (S–N) curves shift to high number cycles to failure side. Both stress amplitude and mean stress influence the fatigue life of UHMWPE. © 2001 Kluwer Academic Publishers 相似文献

A new ‘transXend’ detector system has been developed for energy-resolved computed tomography (CT). It consists of several segmented detectors that measure X-rays as electric currents. Response functions of segmented detectors are estimated using component materials of a body under inspection to unfold X-ray spectra. To avoid material-dependent measurements, response functions inherent to segmented detectors are evaluated by Monte Carlo calculations. CT was performed for a phantom consisting of five resins and was analyzed by the estimated response functions. The linear attenuation coefficients for the five resins have excellent agreement with database values. 相似文献
