We are developing compact X-band linac X-ray sources for nondestructive evaluation and medicine. First, we develop a portable X-ray system by a 950 keV 9.4 GHz X-band linac to realize on-site inspection. We use a low power (250 kW) magnetron as an RF source for compactness of the whole system. Since the RF power source is quite small and the stored energy in the structure is also small, we faced the problem of beam loading and current/RF-power oscillation. We are analyzing the problem by the circuit model. We plan to use this system for erosion inspection of metal pipes of petrochemical complex. By adopting a side-coupling cavity design to avoid the oscillation, we have developed 6 MeV X-band (9.3 GHz) linac for pinpoint dynamic tracking cancer therapy. Furthermore, we are manufacturing 3.95 MeV X-band (9.3 GHz) linac X-ray source with flexible waveguides for on-site bridge inspection. Updated results and situations are presented.  相似文献

Hydroxyapatite materials are potentially useful for biomedical application, especially as vehicles for functional molecules. Structural control of bulk apatite materials, such as in the fabrication of hollow microspheres or porous structures, has been studied for this purpose. However, control of the internal structure of the source apatite crystal itself is still a challenge. Here, we show that small organic molecules incorporated in apatite crystals act as porogens which control the porous structure of apatite single crystal. The presence of amino acid under apatite synthesis conditions leads to firm bindings and encapsulation of the amino acid in apatite single crystals. Amino acid elimination by heating or electron beam irradiation enhances the pore formation in apatite single crystal. Moreover, incorporation of an acidic amino acid in apatite induces peapod like nanotubes in apatite single crystals. This study suggests the potential of using small organics for nano-structural control of apatite single crystals which would be valuable for enhancing drug loadings or modulating material digestion in vivo.  相似文献

The electric transient response method is an effective technique to evaluate material constants of piezoelectric ceramics under high-power driving. In this study, we tried to incorporate nonlinear piezoelectric behaviors in the analysis of transient responses. As a base for handling the nonlinear piezoelectric responses, we proposed an assumption that the electric displacement is proportional to the strain without phase lag, which could be described by a real and constant piezoelectric e-coefficient. Piezoelectric constitutive equations including nonlinear responses were proposed to calculate transient responses of a piezoelectric resonator. The envelopes and waveforms of current and vibration velocity in transient responses observed in some piezoelectric ceramics could be fitted with the calculation including nonlinear responses. The procedure for calculation of mechanical quality factor Q(m) for piezoelectric resonators with nonlinear behaviors was also proposed.  相似文献

Hepatic actinomycosis is a rare infectious disease caused by an anaerobic gram-positive bacterium of the genus Actinomyces. Herein, we describe an unusual case of hepatic actinomycosis involving the diaphragm and right lung. A 41-yr-old man was admitted to Wakayama Medical School Hospital presenting with right back pain and cough. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance image revealed a 5 x 10 cm tumor in the anterior superior segment of the liver, which extended to the diaphragm and right lung. Angiography demonstrated a hypervascular tumor and the enlarged right inferior phrenic artery feeding around the tumor. The patient underwent a hepatectomy with partial resections of the diaphragm and the right middle pulmonary lobe. Microscopically, the specimen showed sulfur granules and was positive for Gram stain and Grocott stain and negative for Ziehl-Neelsen stain. These findings were consistent with actinomycosis of the liver. His postoperative course was uneventful and no recurrence was observed 1 yr postoperatively. Although there are at least 36 well-documented cases until 1993, no other report has been found infiltrating the diaphragm and lung.  相似文献

A Multipitch Analyzer Based on Harmonic Temporal Structured Clustering   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper proposes a multipitch analyzer called the harmonic temporal structured clustering (HTC) method, that jointly estimates pitch, intensity, onset, duration, etc., of each underlying source in a multipitch audio signal. HTC decomposes the energy patterns diffused in time-frequency space, i.e., the power spectrum time series, into distinct clusters such that each has originated from a single source. The problem is equivalent to approximating the observed power spectrum time series by superimposed HTC source models, whose parameters are associated with the acoustic features that we wish to extract. The update equations of the HTC are explicitly derived by formulating the HTC source model with a Gaussian kernel representation. Shown in this paper is a practical method of control using neural network and fuzzy control techniques, where a neural network estimates the target of fuzzy control. The neural network is used to estimate the transient state of a plant which has nonlinear processes such as refrigerating and filtering. The suitable control target pattern for fuzzy control is selected according to this estimation. This method is applied to control the tank level of a solvent dewaxing plant for: 1) changing the tank outflow rate smoothly, and 2) keeping the tank level stable. A laser wavefront sensor of the Shack‐Hartmann type capable of simultaneous measurement at two wavelengths was constructed. The sensor uses a single optical path, and is suited for applications such as high‐voltage discharges in air, in which large insulation distances are necessary. The sensor was used to detect optical path differences due to an impulse discharge in air across a needle–plane electrode gap of gap length 17 mm. Optical path differences were measured at laser wavelengths of 532 and 1064 nm at 1.6 µs after insulation breakdown across the gap. From the difference in optical path differences at the two wavelengths, a line‐integrated electron density distribution in the direction perpendicular to the gap was obtained near the high‐voltage electrode. The distribution had a peak value of 1.4 × 1020m?2 and a full width at half maximum of 4.4 mm. Because of the coverage of a large observation area including the entire gap, the spatial resolution was 1.4 mm, which was inadequate to obtain the precise form of the electron density distribution. However, the results show the possibility of applying laser wavefront sensing to electron density measurement. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Surface treatment using alkaline solutions was attempted to enhance the surface hydrophilicity and enzymatic hydrolyzability of hydrophobic poly(L ‐lactide) [ie poly(L ‐lactic acid) (PLLA) and poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL). The alkaline treatment was performed by immersing the PLLA and PCL films in 0.01 and 4 N NaOH solutions, respectively, for various periods of time. The effects of the alkaline treatment on the hydrophilicity of the films were monitored by dynamic contact angle measurements, while the enzymatic hydrolyzability of the PLLA and PCL films after the alkaline treatment were evaluated by weight losses in the presence of proteinase K and Rhizopus arrhizus lipase, respectively. With the alkaline treatment the hydrophilicity of the PLLA and PCL films was controllable in the advancing contact angle (θa) ranges of 84–108° and of 69–93°, respectively, by varying the alkaline treatment time. The enzymatic hydrolysis rates of the PLLA films became higher with decrease of the θa, irrespective of the crystallinity, strongly suggesting that the surface hydrophilicity or the surface molecular weight is crucial to determine their enzymatic hydrolyzability. In contrast, the enzymatic hydrolyzability of the PCL films remained unchanged even when the θa decreased from 93° to 73° by alkaline treatment for 4 h. However, prolonged alkaline treatment for periods of time exceeding 4 h, which insignificantly altered the θa but caused the formation of pores and cracks on the PCL film surface, accelerated the enzymatic hydrolysis of the PCL films. This indicates that the enzymatic hydrolyzability of the PCL film depends on the surface area per unit weight rather than the surface hydrophilicity. Amorphous PdxSi1-x(x=0.8,0.825,0.85) in the form of ribbon was prepared by a single-roller melt spinning technique to examine hydrogen permeability and catalytic activity for dehydrogenation. As a result, it was found that the amorphous specimens had higher tenacity and higher permeability of hydrogen than its crystallized form. Also, the surface of the amorphous specimen showed a catalytic activity for dehydrogenation of cyclohexane, while no activity was observed in the untreated. Taking advantage of both hydrogen permeability and catalytic activity, the amorphous PdxSi1-x would be expected to be a candidate for a catalytic membrane.  相似文献
