Stress distributions and deformation of adhesive butt joints are analyzed by an elastoplastic finite element method when the joints of similar and dissimilar shafts are subjected to external bending moments. The effects of the ratio of Young's modulus for the adherends to that for an adhesive and the effects of the adhesive thickness on the interface stress distribution are investigated. Joint strength is predicted by using the elastoplastic interface stress distributions. It is found that the singular stress at the edge of the interfaces increases with an increase of the ratio of Young's modulus. Measurement of strains in joints and experiments on joint strength were conducted. The numerical results are in fairly good agreement with the experimental results. It is observed that the joint strength for dissimilar shafts are smaller than those for similar shafts. A fracture of dissimilar adhesive up-bonded shafts occurred from the interface of the adherend with smaller Young's modulus. It is seen that joint strength increases as the adhesive thickness increases.  相似文献

In this paper, the tensile properties of cement-based composites containing random discontinuous steel fibers are reported. Direct tensile tests were performed to study the effects of fiber length (hence fiber aspect ratio), interfacial bonding, and processing conditions on composite properties. The ionic conductivity of the ceria-samaria (CeO2-Sm2O3) system is higher than that of yttria-stabilized zirconia and other CeO2-based oxides. In this study, a small amount of alkali-element-doped CeO2-Sm2O3 solid solution was prepared. This solid solution was characterized by measuring the powder density and the chemical composition. Moreover, its electrochemical properties were investigated in the temperature range from 700° to 1000°C. It was found that a small amount of alkali-element-doped CeO2 solid solution enhanced the ionic conductivity. The power density of an oxygen-hydrogen fuel cell for alkali-element-doped CeO2-Sm2O3 ceramics exhibited high values at low temperatures such as 700° to 800°C. It is concluded that the improved fuel cell performance can be attributed to the high stability of this composition in the fuel atmosphere.  相似文献

A simple interface fracture test for ceramic environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) on ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) was developed. A variation on the asymmetric double cantilever beam (ADCB) test was proposed so that the interface toughness could be measured in a small specimen of simple shape without applying interlaminar loading to the CMC substrate. The proposed test was applied to an EBC consisting of a mullite layer and Si bond coat on a monolithic SiC substrate. A pre-crack was introduced by pop-in cracking, and then a notch overlapping the pre-crack was machined. The pre-crack was opened by inserting a wedge into the notch. From the critical notch opening displacement the crack starts to propagate, interface toughness is calculated. The measured interface toughness was 4.1?J/m2. Finally, the application range of the test was discussed and suggestions were made for introduction of the notch and pre-crack.  相似文献

Sulfur‐containing allyl ester, which reacts with diallyl phthalate (DAP) resin to have allyl groups, was synthesized by the reaction of allyl phthalic acid with bisphenol having sulfur atoms. The sulfur‐containing allyl ester compound was blended with DAP resin to improve the adhesive properties to copper. By modification with sulfur‐containing allyl ester compound, the T‐peel adhesive strength and the lap shear adhesive strength to copper was improved. In particular, the adhesive strength was greatly improved when the resin was modified with the allyl ester compound having a disulfide bond (?S?S?) (DADS). It is concluded that this result is due to the improvement of the interfacial adhesive strength because the sulfur atom was found to be located in the surface of the copper by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and the thermal decomposition temperature (Td) of the cured DAP resin modified with DADS slightly decreased with increasing concentration of DADS. The lowering of Tg is because the crosslinking density of the DAP resin modified with DADS is smaller than that of DAP resin. Moreover, from thermogravimetric analysis, the lowering of Td of the DAP resin modified with DADS is because DADS is likely to pyrolyze. © 2013 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Cerium monosulfide (CeS) powder was synthesized by the reduction of Ce2S3 powder with metallic Ce, which was obtained from ceria (CeO2) powder using carbon disulfide (CS2) gas. To obtain the maximum amount of CeS from a mixture of Ce2S3 and Ce, an excess amount of metallic Ce, a stoichiometric composition, was necessary in the synthesis at 1273 K for 10.8 ks. The preliminary sintering experiments also were performed using a synthetic CeS powder containing a small amount of Ce, Ce2O2S, and β-Ce2S3 as impurities. It was found that the oxygen content in the sintered compact decreases gradually as the sintering temperature increases, because of the removal of the impurities due to the evaporation of the volatile CeO. Single-phase CeS was formed by sintering at 2173 K. To evaluate the activation energy for densification of single-phase CeS, a CeS powder was prepared by milling an initial sintered compact and was used as an ingredient for hot-press experiments. Densification data during hot-press sintering were analyzed using a kinetic equation, showing that boundary diffusion is a rate-limiting process. The results suggest that this boundary diffusion model can explain well the densification data, with an apparent activation energy of 479 kJ·mol-1.  相似文献

We recently observed that the decanoylation of N-phenylthiocarbamoyl chitosan (2) with a mixture of decanoic anhydride and pyridine at 60 °C for 24 h afforded N,N-(decanoyl)phenythiocarbamoyl-/2-isothiocynato chitosan decanoate (3b) rather than the expected product N,N-(decanoyl)phenylthiocarbamoyl chitosan decanoate (3a). This result suggested that some of the N,N-(decanoyl)phenylthiocarmbamoyl groups had been converted to isothiocyanate groups during the decanoylation process. The subsequent reaction of compound 3b with aniline gave N,N-(decanoyl)phenylthiocarbamoyl/N-phenylthiocarbamoyl chitosan decanoate (4) in high yield. A solution of compound 4 in CHCl3 was then added to a solution of copper decanoate (5) in the same solvent, and the resulting mixture was cast onto a glass plate to give a cast film. The film was annealed at 200 °C in an oven to give a greenish film, which showed good near-infrared absorption characteristic in the range of 800–2200 nm.  相似文献

Novel type I collagen hybrid fibrils were fabricated by neutralizing a mixture of type I fish scale collagen solution and type I porcine collagen solution with a phosphate buffer saline at 28 °C. Their structure was discussed in terms of the volume ratio of fish/porcine collagen solution. Scanning electron and atomic force micrographs showed that the diameter of collagen fibrils derived from the collagen mixture was larger than those derived from each collagen, and all resultant fibrils exhibited a typical D-periodic unit of ∼67 nm, irrespective of volume ratio of both collagens. Differential scanning calorimetry revealed only one endothermic peak for the fibrils derived from collagen mixture or from each collagen solution, indicating that the resultant collagen fibrils were hybrids of type I fish scale collagen and type I porcine collagen.  相似文献

The effects of seed layers on the characteristics of rf-sputtered lead zirconium titanate thin films were investigated. Prior to sputtering, PbTiO 3 seed layers (100 nm) were deposited onto the Pt/Ti/Si and Pt/Si substrates by sol-gel (spin coating) processing method. Structure-property relation was studied as functions of substrate temperature and sputtering conditions. Special efforts were given in optimizing the deposition parameters to prepare the films in the perovskite phase without post deposition annealing. Dielectric constant and loss tangent of the films were in the range 800-950 and 0.04 -0.06, respectively. Remanent polarization and coercive field were 23.1 w C/cm 2 and 75kV/cm, respectively, for the films without PbTiO 3 seed layer, where as the corresponding quantities for in situ -deposited perovskite Pb(Zr, Ti)O 3 films on PbTiO 3 seed layer were 28 w C/cm 2 and 65 kV/cm, respectively.  相似文献
