It was reported that cilostazol (CLZ) suppressed disruption of the microvasculature in ischemic areas. In this study, we have designed novel injection formulations containing CLZ nanoparticles using 0.5% methylcellulose, 0.2% docusate sodium salt, and mill methods (CLZnano dispersion; particle size 81 ± 59 nm, mean ± S.D.), and investigated their toxicity and usefulness in a cerebral ischemia/reperfusion-induced injury model (MCAO/reperfusion mice). The pharmacokinetics of injections of CLZnano dispersions is similar to that of CLZ solutions prepared with 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin, and no changes in the rate of hemolysis of rabbit red blood cells, a model of cell injury, were observed with CLZnano dispersions. In addition, the intravenous injection of 0.6 mg/kg CLZnano dispersions does not affect the blood pressure and blood flow, and the 0.6 mg/kg CLZnano dispersions ameliorate neurological deficits and ischemic stroke in MCAO/reperfusion mice. It is possible that the CLZnano dispersions will provide effective therapy for ischemic stroke patients, and that injection preparations of lipophilic drugs containing drug nanoparticles expand their therapeutic usage.  相似文献

Function‐graded proton exchange membranes (G‐PEMs) based on poly(tetrafluoroethylene‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) were fabricated for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) via electron beam‐grafting using the heterogeneous energy deposition technique. The G‐PEMs had a water uptake gradient in the proton transfer direction, originating from the sulfonic acid group gradient. The distribution of sulfonic acid groups in the various G‐PEMs was evaluated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Four types of PEMs (flat‐type, strong‐gradient, meso‐gradient, and weak‐gradient types) were fabricated. By varying the direction of the G‐PEMs, the methanol permeation test and DMFC operation were performed with two orientations of the sulfonic acid group gradient, decreasing from the methanol injection (anode) side (decrease‐type) or the other (cathode) side (increase‐type). The methanol permeability of the strong‐gradient, meso‐gradient, and weak‐gradient G‐PEMs was lower than that of Nafion®117 and the flat‐type PEM. The “increase‐type” orientation of the strong‐gradient G‐PEM resulted in the lowest methanol permeability. The DMFC performance of the G‐PEMs was influenced by the thickness direction, such as “decrease‐type” and “increase‐type.” The performance of the “decrease‐type” assembly was higher than that of the “increase‐type.” The “decrease‐type” assembly with P‐200 k (weak‐gradient G‐PEM) exhibited the highest performance of the fabricated PEMs, comparable to that of Nafion®117.  相似文献

The main obstacle for wider use of membrane bioreactors (MBRs) for wastewater treatment is membrane fouling (i.e., deterioration of membrane permeability),which increases operating costs. For more efficient control of membrane fouling in MBRs, an understanding of the mechanisms of membrane fouling is important. However, there is a lack of information on membrane fouling in MBRs, especially information on features of components that are responsible for the fouling. We conducted a pilot-scale experiment using real municipal wastewater with three identical MBRs under different operating conditions. The results obtained in this study suggested that the food-microorganisms ratio (F/M) and membrane filtration flux were the important operating parameters that significantly influenced membrane fouling in MBRs. Neither concentrations of dissolved organic matter in the reactors nor viscosity of mixed liquor, which have been thought to have influences on fouling in MBRs, showed clear relationships with membrane fouling in this study. Organic substances that had caused the membrane fouling were desorbed from fouled membranes of the MBRs at the termination of the operation and were subjected to Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analyses. These analyses revealed that the nature of the membrane foulant changes depending on F/M. It was shown that high F/M would make the foulant more proteinaceous. Carbohydrates were dominant in membrane foulants in this study, while features of humic substances were not apparent.  相似文献

Guanosine 3',5'-cyclic phosphate (cGMP) is known to be the second messenger of natriuretic peptides and nitric oxide (NO). To investigate the involvement of natriuretic peptides in the regulation of the feto-placental circulation, specific radioimmunoassays were used to measure the concentrations of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and cGMP in the umbilical venous plasma of normal and asphyxiated newborns. The plasma concentrations of ANP, BNP and cGMP in asphyxiated newborns were 48.3 +/- 12.9 pm, 24.5 +/- 9.4 pm and 4.4 +/- 1.6 nM (mean +/- s.e.m., n = 10), respectively. These values were significantly higher than those in the normal newborns (17.4 +/- 1.9 pm, 4.7 +/- 1.0 pm, and 0.78 +/- 0.14 nM, respectively). Moreover, the expression of both ANP-A and ANP-B receptor, biologically active receptors for natriuretic peptides, was detected in term human placenta by Northern bolt analysis. The expression of natriuretic peptide receptors was further confirmed by binding assay using [125I]-labelled ANP and solubilized crude membrane preparations of placental tissue. These findings suggest that cGMP is produced in the placenta, at least partly, by the action of ANP and BNP secreted from fetal heart, in pathophysiological conditions such as fetal hypoxia.  相似文献

Sheets were cast by extruding polypropylenes (PP) which contained γ-quinacridone, a β-crystal nucleator, at levels of 0–10 ppm using a 30 mm ϕ extruder with a T-die at extrusion temperatures of 200–260°C and chill roll temperatures of 30–90°C. The influences of raw resin characteristics such as γ-quinacridone content and MFI of the base PP and casting conditions such as extrusion temperature and chill roll temperature on the amount of β-crystals formed in the sheet were studied. The amount of the β-crystals formed was larger as the γ-quinacridone content was higher and the extrusion temperature was lower and almost independent of the chill roll temperature. As for the influence of MFI of the base PP, the amount of the β-crystals formed was maximum at MFI ≑ 8 dg/min.  相似文献

Increasing attention has been given to pollution of the water environment by pharmaceutical compounds discharged from wastewater treatment plants. High-pressure driven membranes such as a nanofiltration (NF) membrane and a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane are considered to be effective for control of pharmaceuticals in wastewater treatment. In practical applications of NF/RO membranes to municipal wastewater treatment, feed water for the membranes always contains organic macromolecules at concentrations of up to 10 mg-TOC/L, which are mainly composed of soluble microbial products (SMPs) produced during biological wastewater treatment such as an activated sludge process. In this study, influence of these organic macromolecules on removal of six pharmaceuticals by NF/RO membranes (UTC-60 and LF10) was investigated. Two types of biological treatment (conventional activated sludge process followed by media filtration (i.e., tertiary treatment) and treatment with a membrane bioreactor (MBR)) were examined as pretreatments for NF/RO membranes in this study. In the filtration tests with wastewater effluents, removal of the pharmaceuticals was higher than that seen with deionized pure water spiked with the pharmaceuticals. The increase was significant in the case of the NF membrane. Both alteration of membrane surface properties due to membrane fouling and association of the pharmaceuticals with organic macromolecules contributed to the increase in removal of pharmaceuticals by the membranes. Characteristics of the organic macromolecules contained in the wastewater effluents differed depending on the type of treatment, implying that removal of pharmaceuticals by NF/RO membranes is influenced by the type of pretreatment employed.  相似文献

Ultra-low-power and high-speed SiGe base bipolar transistors that can be used in RF sections of multi-GHz telecommunication systems have been developed. The SiGe base and a poly-Si/SiGe base-contact were formed by selective growth in a self-aligned manner. The transistors have a very small base-collector capacitance (below 1 fF for an emitter area of 0.2×0.7 μm) and exhibit a high maximum oscillation frequency (30-70 GHz) at low current (5-100 μA). The power-delay product of an ECL ring oscillator is only 5.1 fJ/gate for a 250-mV voltage swing. The maximum toggle frequency of a one-eighth static divider is 4.7 GHz at a switching current of 68 μA/FF  相似文献
