We analyze the spatiotemporal intensity of pulses with durations of 20 fs and shorter and a carrier wavelength of 810 nm at the paraxial focal plane of an achromatic doublet lens. The incident pulse is well-collimated, and we use the Seidel aberration theory for thin lenses to evaluate the phase change due to the aberrations of the lens. In a set of cemented thin lenses with the stop at the lens, there is only spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism and field curvature, whereas the distortion aberration in the phase front is zero. We analyze the effect of these aberrations in the focusing of ultrashort pulses for homogenous illumination. We will show that the temporal spreading introduced by these aberrations in pulses shorter than 20 fs at 810 nm is very small but the spatial spreading is not, which reduces the intensity of the pulse considerably.  相似文献

The determination of the characteristic frequencies of an electromechanical resonance does not provide enough data to obtain the material properties of piezoceramics, including all losses, from complex impedance measurements. Values of impedance around resonance and antiresonance frequencies are also required to calculate the material losses. Uncoupled resonances are needed for this purpose. The shear plates used for the material characterization present unavoidable mode coupling of the shear mode and other modes of the plate. A study of the evolution of the complex material coefficients as the coupling of modes evolves with the change in the aspect ratio (lateral dimension/thickness) of the plate is presented here. These are obtained using software. A soft commercial PZT ceramic was used in this study and several shear plates amenable to material characterization were obtained in the range of aspect ratios below 15. The validity of the material properties for 3-D modeling of piezoceramics is assessed by means of finite element analysis, which shows that uncoupled resonances are virtually pure thickness-driven shear modes.  相似文献

The aim was to evaluate both the ability of yeast strains to survive and bind AFB(1) under ruminant gastrointestinal conditions and the effect of these yeast strains on ruminal fermentation. Yeast viability was studied under simulated gastrointestinal conditions. AFB(1) binding ability was evaluated at different pH values as present in the ruminant gastrointestinal tract. The effect of yeast strains on cellulose digestion and volatile fatty acids production by ruminal bacteria was also evaluated. All yeast strains were able to survive under gastrointestinal conditions and to adsorb AFB(1) at the different pH assayed. The strain RC016 showed the highest binding percentage at the three tested pH. The number of cellulolytic bacteria in ruminal fluid increased in the presence of RC008 and RC016 yeast strains. The concentration of acetate and propionate after ruminal fermentation increased with the addition of RC008 and RC016 strains; this effect was less significant with RC009 strain. Strains RC008 and RC016 are potential probiotic to be included in animal feed: they help to increase fibber digestibility and could reduce AFB(1 )bioavailability in the gastrointestinal tract. Viable S. cerevisiae RC008 and RC016 strains with both probiotic and mycotoxins adsorption properties could be used as feed additives in ruminant feedstuff.  相似文献

Thirty pigs were allotted into four groups according to the fattening diet (“Montanera”, diet= acorns and pasture; and “Pienso”, diet=concentrated diet) and genotype (Iberian and Iberian×Duroc pigs). Lipid, fatty acid and triacylglycerol compositions,were measured in Biceps femoris muscle. Fattening diet largely affected muscle lipid composition. Total intramuscular lipid and triacylglycerol contents were higher in Montanera pigs than in Pienso pigs (8.0–8.1% vs 6.0–6.8% and 7.4–7.3% vs 6.2–5.4%, respectively). In Montanera pigs, triacylglycerols contained more oleic acid (54.7–56.8% vs 53.5–53.8% and less stearic and palmitic acids (8.8–8.4% vs 9.4–10.2% and 22.2–23.3 vs 23.7–24.4% respectively) and accordingly less PSO and more POL, POO and OOO triacylglycerols compared to Pienso pigs (13.1–13.6% vs 16.2–19.2%, 4.4–3.5% vs 3.0–2.7%, 53.1% vs 51.3–51.9% and 10.1–12.3% vs 8.3–8.6%, respectively). Genotype had no effect on lipid and triacylglycerol contents of muscles and showed only a slight effect on fatty acid and triacylglycerol compositions.  相似文献

The effect of different washing or sanitizing agents was compared for preventing or reducing surface and internal contamination of tomatoes by Salmonella Typhimurium and Escherichia coli O157:H7. The tomatoes were inoculated by dipping them in a bacterial suspension containing approximately 6.0 log CFU/ml of each pathogen and then rinsing them with tap water, hypochlorite solution (250 mg/liter), or lactic acid solution (2%, wt/vol). All treatments were applied by dipping or spraying, and solutions were applied at 5, 25, 35, and 55 degrees C. With the exception of the lactic acid dip at 5 degrees C, all treatments reduced both pathogens on the surfaces of the tomatoes by at least 2.9 cycles. No significantly different results were obtained (P > 0.05) with the dipping and spraying techniques. For internalized pathogens, the mean counts for tomatoes treated with water alone or with chlorine ranged from 0.8 to 2.1 log CFU/g. In contrast, after lactic acid spray treatment, all core samples of tomatoes tested negative for Salmonella Typhimurium and, except for one sample with a low but detectable count, all samples tested negative for E. coli O157:H7 with a plate count method. When the absence of pathogens was verified by an enrichment method, Salmonella was not recovered from any samples, whereas two of four samples tested positive for E. coli O157:H7 even though the counts were negative. Few cells of internalized pathogens were able to survive in the center of the tomato during storage at room temperature (25 to 28 degrees C). The average superficial pH of tomatoes treated with tap water, chlorine, or lactic acid was 4.9 to 5.2, 4.1 to 4.3, and 2.5, respectively (P < 0.05), whereas no differences were observed in the internal pH (3.6 to 3.7) of the tomatoes treated with different sanitizers. The general practice in the tomato industry is to wash the tomatoes in chlorinated water. However, chlorine is rapidly degraded by organic matter usually present in produce. Therefore, lactic acid sprays may be a more effective alternative for decontaminating tomato surfaces. The use of warm (55 degrees C) sprays could reduce pathogen internalization during washing.  相似文献

Six Holstein-Friesian heifers fitted with ruminal, duodenal, and ileal cannulas were used in a replicated 3x3 Latin square to study the effects of partial replacement [1:1 dry matter (DM) basis] of fresh winter oats (WO) by ground corn (C) or barley (B) on digestion and bacterial protein synthesis. Supplemented diets contained 24% starch, and all diets were fed indoors at 2.5% of body weight (DM basis). Ruminal and total tract digestibilities of organic matter and neutral detergent fiber were similar for all treatments. Ruminal and total tract starch digestibility was similar for C and B diets. Nitrogen intake was greater for WO than for supplemented diets. However, duodenal flows of nonammonia N and bacterial N did not differ among treatments. The efficiency of bacterial protein synthesis was similar for the three diets, suggesting that the fermentation of high quality fresh forage DM provided sufficient energy for the microorganisms in the rumen. Ruminal ammonia-N concentration was greater for WO than for supplemented diets, and for C than for B diet. Ruminal fluid pH and concentrations of total volatile fatty acid were not different among diets, but concentration of acetate was higher and that of propionate was lower for WO than for supplemented diets and for C than for B diet. Supplementation of WO with barley rather than with corn decreased C2:C3 ratio without affecting fiber digestion. Supplements increased N utilization relative to N intake but did not increase duodenal nonammonia N flow.  相似文献

The use of on-line coupling of reversed-phase liquid chromatography and gas chromatography (RPLC-GC) with the through oven transfer adsorption desorption (TOTAD) interface and mass spectrometry (MS) was proposed for testing different types of commercial Spanish dry-cured ham for irradiation treatment at various doses (0, 1.5, 2, and 4 kGy). The qualitative analysis of radiation-specific compounds (e.g., n-pentadecane, 1-hexadecene, 1,7-hexadecadiene, n-heptadecane, 8-heptadecene, and 2-dodecylcyclobutanone) can be simultaneously established in a single run with samples that have or have not been irradiated. The overall analysis, which takes less than 100 min, includes a rapid extraction step using a small amount of dichloromethane-methanol (1:1, vol/vol) and anhydrous sodium sulfate, the subsequent fractionation of the sample in the first dimension of the system (RPLC), the transfer of the target fraction to the second dimension, the GC separation, and the MS detection. The calculated limits of detection in ham were lower than 22 ng/g. Repeatability studies provided relative standard deviation values of 0.8 to 13.5%.  相似文献

Inactivation of parasites in food by microwave treatment may vary due to differences in the characteristics of microwave ovens and food properties. Microwave treatment in standard domestic ovens results in hot and cold spots, and the microwaves do not penetrate all areas of the samples depending on the thickness, which makes it difficult to compare microwave with conventional heat treatments. The viability of Anisakis simplex (isolated larvae and infected fish muscle) heated in a microwave oven with precise temperature control was compared with that of larvae heated in a water bath to investigate any additional effect of the microwaves. At a given temperature, less time was required to kill the larvae by microwaves than by heated water. Microwave treatment killed A. simplex larvae faster than did conventional cooking when the microwaves fully penetrated the samples and resulted in fewer changes in the fish muscle. However, the heat-stable allergen Ani s 4 was detected by immunohistochemistry in the fish muscle after both heat treatments, even at 70°C, suggesting that Ani s 4 allergens were released from the larvae into the surrounding tissue and that the tissues retained their allergenicity even after the larvae were killed by both heat treatments. Thus, microwave cooking will not render fish safe for individuals already sensitized to A. simplex heat-resistant allergens.  相似文献

Trained sensory panels in Britain and Spain assessed loin meat from commercial lambs purchased in Spain, which included Welsh lamb (imported from Britain) and two Spanish breeds (Merino and Rasa Aragonesa). The British panel also assessed British lamb purchased in local butcher shops and supermarkets. Sensory panels, in each country, received meat from the same lambs and used their local methods of cooking and assessment. Spanish panels used unstructured line scales to measure lamb odour intensity, tenderness, juiciness, lamb flavour intensity and two hedonic scales of flavour liking and overall liking. The British panel used 8 point category scales with the same attributes. Results from both panels in objective parameters were in agreement, hence showing that different trained sensory panels may arrive at the same conclusion. However, when panellists were allowed to make hedonic judgements (preference), the British panel preferred British lamb and the Spanish panel preferred Spanish lamb. This finding has important consequences for lamb producers who export their lambs and demonstrates that the underlying reasons for different preferences should be investigated. Production variables are discussed in relation to their influence on lamb eating quality and as a way to tailor lamb eating quality attributes familiar to consumers in the importing country.  相似文献

In order to complete the previously performed phenotypic identification [Sánchez et al., 2000. Int. J. Food Microbiol. 59 (2000) 9], whole cell protein patterns obtained using Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) of 149 lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains, isolated from 'Almagro' eggplants spontaneous fermentation, were analysed. Phenotypic identification of those strains had revealed the presence of the species Lactobacillus (Lb) plantarum, Lb. pentosus, Lb. brevis biotype 2, Lb. brevis biotype 3, Lb. fermentum, Lactobacillus spp. and Aerococcus viridans. The SDS-PAGE technique generated complex and stable patterns that were easy to interpret and compare with those of the 17 reference strains used in this study. After numerical analysis of the resulting electrophoretic protein patterns, six well-delineated clusters were discriminated that, with some exceptions, correlated well with the different groups phenotypically found. Only two strains showed unique protein patterns without meaningful homology to any of the reference strains used for this study and remained unidentified.  相似文献
