Quinas contains several compounds, such as quinoline alkaloids, principally quinine, quinidine, cinchonine and cichonidine. Identified from barks of Cinchona, quinine is still commonly used to treat human malaria. Microwave-Integrated Extraction and Leaching (MIEL) is proposed for the extraction of quinoline alkaloids from bark of Cinchona succirubra. The process is performed in four steps, which ensures complete, rapid and accurate extraction of the samples. Optimal conditions for extraction were obtained using a response surface methodology reached from a central composite design. The MIEL extraction has been compared with a conventional technique soxhlet extraction. The extracts of quinoline alkaloids from C. succirubra obtained by these two different methods were compared by HPLC. The extracts obtained by MIEL in 32 min were quantitatively (yield) and qualitatively (quinine, quinidine, cinchonine, cinchonidine) similar to those obtained by conventional Soxhlet extraction in 3 hours. Rate control algorithm adopted in H.264/AVC reference software shows several shortcomings that have been highlighted by different studies. For instance, in the baseline profile, the frame target bit-rate estimation assumes similar characteristics for all frames and the quantization parameter determination uses the Mean Absolute Difference for complexity estimation. Consequently, an inefficient bit allocation is performed leading to important quality variation of decoded sequences. A saliency-based rate-control is proposed in this paper to achieve bit-rate saving and improve perceived quality. The saliency map of each frame, simulating the human visual attention by a bottom-up approach, is used at the frame level to adjust the quantization parameter and at the macroblock level to guide the bit allocation process. Simulation results show that the proposed attentional model is well correlated to human behavior. When compared to JM15.0 reference software, at the frame level, the saliency map exploitation achieves bit-rate savings of up to 26%. At the MB level and under the same quality constraint, bit-rate improvement is up to 42% and buffer level variation is reduced by up to 71%. 相似文献

Short setup time is an essential element for the effective implementation of many lean pillars, i.e., JIT, and Kanban. Most of the current setup reduction methodologies are based on Shingo’s Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) that suggests the conversion of internal setup operations to external operations. However, the conventional SMED approach – as proposed by Shingo – does not possess a systematic approach to accomplish this conversion. Thus, a new approach is proposed in order to aid the process engineers in implementing SMED. The proposed approach is based on the conventional SMED, but also it incorporates Multiple Criteria Decision-Making Techniques (MCDM) to the third implementation phase. The MCDM techniques used in this work are Analytical Hierarchal Process (AHP), Preference Selection Index (PSI) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The proposed approach provides a systematic procedure for selecting the best setup technique among the available alternatives, and takes also into consideration other factors that affect the decision-making process; including: cost, energy, facility layout, safety, life, quality and maintenance. A real example of PVC industry is used to exemplify the approach. The results demonstrate the capability of the proposed approach in setup time reduction, which in turn will improve machines’ utilization, and increase the productivity and flexibility of the whole facility. 相似文献

This paper deals with the mathematical modelling of a scheduling problem in a heterogeneous CPU/FPGA architecture with heterogeneous communication delays in order to minimize the makespan, \(C_{max}\). This study was motivated by the quality of the available solvers for Mixed Integer Program. The proposed model includes the communication delay constraints in a heterogeneous case, depending on both tasks and computing units. These constraints are linearized without adding any extra variables and the obtained linear model is reduced to speed-up the solving with CPLEX up to 60 times. Computational results show that the proposed model is promising. For an average sized problem of up to 50 tasks and five computing units the solving time under CPLEX is a few seconds. 相似文献

A class of nonlinear time‐series models in which the underlying process follows a finite mixture of bilinear representations is proposed. The mixture feature appears in the conditional distribution of the process which is given as a finite mixture of distributions evaluated at the normed innovations of diagonal bilinear specifications. This class is aimed at capturing special characteristics exhibited by many observed time series such as tail heaviness, multimodality, asymmetry and change in regime. Some probabilistic properties of the proposed model, namely strict and second‐order stationarity, geometric ergodicity, covariance structure, existence of higher order moments, tail behaviour and invertibility, are first studied. Parameter estimation is then performed through the EM algorithm, performance of which is shown via simulation experiments. Applications to some real‐time‐series data are proposed and through which it is shown how neglecting the mixture framework in a bilinear representation results in a loss in adequacy. 相似文献

Novel reinforcement learning-based approaches to reduce loss probability in buffer-less OBS networks
Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is a promising switching paradigm for the next generation Internet. A buffer-less OBS network can be implemented simply and cost-effectively without the need for either wavelength converters or optical buffers which are, currently, neither cost-effective nor technologically mature. However, this type of OBS networks suffers from relatively high loss probability caused by wavelength contentions at core nodes. This could prevent or, at least, delay the adoption of OBS networks as a solution for the next generation optical Internet. To enhance the performance of buffer-less OBS networks, we propose three approaches: (a) a reactive approach, called Reinforcement Learning-Based Deflection Routing Scheme (RLDRS) that aims to resolve wavelength contentions, after they occur, using deflection routing; (b) a proactive multi-path approach, called Reinforcement Learning-Based Alternative Routing (RLAR), that aims to reduce wavelength contentions; and (c) an approach, called Integrated Reinforcement Learning-based Routing and Contention Resolution (IRLRCR), that combines RLAR and RLDRS to conjointly deal with wavelength contentions proactively and reactively. Simulation results show that both RLAR and RLDRS reduce, effectively, loss probability in buffer-less OBS networks and outperform the existing multi-path and deflection routing approaches, respectively. for mesh clients. We tailor a nature inspired meta-heuristic algorithm to solve the model whereby, several trade-off solutions

This paper deals with a numerical study on the steam methane reforming reaction performances into a wall-coated steam methane reformer (WC-SMR), intended to produce hydrogen. In this work a new catalytic pattern, purporting to enhance the WC-SMR efficiency, is proposed. A comparison study is made between the new inter-catalytic layers pattern and a conventional one with a continuous catalytic layer pattern. Both WC-SMR models operate at similar conditions and at the same design parameters, except the catalytic zone length which is monitored by taking into account the inter-catalytic layers spacing or not. Our results show that, by adopting a catalytic surface with an inter-catalytic spacing, the methane conversion could be enhanced and thus the hydrogen production is intensified. 相似文献
