Sesame seed (Sesamum indicum L.) is a rich source of furofuran lignans with a wide range of potential biological activities. The major lignans in sesame seeds are the oil‐soluble sesamin and sesamolin, as well as glucosides of sesaminol and sesamolinol that reside in the defatted sesame flour. Upon refining of sesame oil, acid‐catalyzed transformation of sesamin to episesamin and of sesamolin to epimeric sesaminols takes place, making the profile of refined sesame oils different from that of virgin oils. In this study, the total lignan content of 14 sesame seeds ranged between 405 and 1178 mg/100 g and the total lignan content in 14 different products, including tahini, ranged between 11 and 763 mg/100 g. The content of sesamin and sesamolin in ten commercial virgin and roasted sesame oils was in the range of 444–1601 mg/100 g oil. In five refined sesame oils, sesamin ranged between 118 and 401 mg/100 g seed, episesamin between 12 and 206 mg/100 g seed, and the total contents of sesaminol epimers between 5 and 35 mg/100 g seed, and no sesamolin was found. Thus, there is a great variation in the types and amounts of lignans in sesame seeds, seed products and oils. This knowledge is important for nutritionists working on resolving the connection between diet and health. Since the consumption of sesame seed products is increasing steadily in Europe and USA, it is important to include sesame seed lignans in databases and studies pertinent to the nutritional significance of antioxidants and phytoestrogens. In this paper, a highly selective poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane electrode based on (1, 9-dibenzyl-1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 15-hexaaza cyclohexa decane) copper(II) perchlorate; [Cu((benzyl)2[16]aneN6)](ClO4)2; as a synthesized ionophore, for perchlorate-selective electrode is reported. The influence of membrane composition, pH and possible interfering anions were investigated on the response properties of the electrode. The sensor responds to perchlorate ion in linear range from 1.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 1 M with a slope ? 59.4 ± 0.3 mV per decade. The limit of detection of the electrode was 4.0 × 10? 7 M ClO4–. Selectivity coefficients indicate a good discriminating ability towards ClO4– ion in comparison to other anions. The proposed sensor has a fast response time of about 7 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in potential. Due to importance of analysis of perchlorate in water samples, this selective electrode was applied as potentiometric sensor in determination of perchlorate ion in real samples. 相似文献

The challenges of growing and aging populations combined with limited clinical resources have created huge demand for wearable and portable healthcare devices. Research advances in wearable biosensors have made it easier to achieve reliable noninvasive monitoring of health and body status. In this review, recent progress in the development of body computing systems for personalized healthcare is presented, with key considerations and case studies. Critical form factors for wearable sensors, their materials, structures, power sources, modes of data communication, and the types of information they can extract from the body are summarized. Statistically meaningful data analysis considerations, including using cohort and longitudinal correlation studies, are reviewed to understand how raw sensor signals can provide actionable information on the state of the body. This informs discussions on how collected sensor data can be used for personalized and even preventative care, such as by guiding closed-loop medical interventions. Finally, outstanding challenges for making wearable sensor systems reliable, practical, and ubiquitous are considered in order to disrupt traditional medical paradigms with personalized and precision care. 相似文献

Landfill leachate is one of the most recalcitrant wastes for biotreatment and can be considered a potential source of contamination to surface and groundwater ecosystems. In the present study, Fenton oxidation was employed for degradation of stabilized landfill leachate. Response surface methodology was applied to analyze, model and optimize the process parameters, i.e. pH and reaction time as well as the initial concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion. Analysis of variance showed that good coefficients of determination were obtained (R2 > 0.99), thus ensuring satisfactory agreement of the second-order regression model with the experimental data. The results indicated that, pH and its quadratic effects were the main factors influencing Fenton oxidation. Furthermore, antagonistic effects between pH and other variables were observed. The optimum H2O2 concentration, Fe(II) concentration, pH and reaction time were 0.033 mol/L, 0.011 mol/L, 3 and 145 min, respectively, with 58.3% COD, 79.0% color and 82.1% iron removals. 相似文献

A green and efficient dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method based on a new deep eutectic solvent has been developed for the preconcentration and extraction of cobalt and nickel ions. The deep eutectic solvent is formed by mixing choline chloride (hydrogen bond acceptor) and 4-aminophenol (hydrogen bond donor). Then, it is used as a chelating agent as well as extraction solvent. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear ranges for Ni(II) and Co(II) were 0.80–50 and 0.50–50 µgL?1, respectively, by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The obtained detection limits were 0.30 and 0.22 µg L?1 for Ni(II) and Co(II), respectively. 相似文献

One of the most challenging topics for next‐generation wireless networks is the process of vertical handoff since many of wireless technologies overlap each other and build a heterogeneous topology. Several parameters, pertaining to user/application requirements and network conditions, such as data rate, service cost, network latency, speed of mobile, and etc. must be considered in the handoff process of heterogeneous networks along with RSSI information. In this paper, adaptive fuzzy logic‐based vertical handoff decision‐making algorithms are presented for wireless overlay networks which consist of GSM/GPRS/Wi-Fi/UMTS/WiMAX technologies. The parameters data rate, monetary cost, speed of mobile and RSSI information are processed as inputs of the proposed fuzzy‐based systems. According to these parameters, an output value, which varies between 1 and 10, is produced. This output value is utilized to determine whether a handoff process is necessary or not and to select the best candidate access point in the vicinity. The results show that, compared to the traditional RSSI‐based algorithm significantly enhanced outcomes can be achieved for both user and network as a consequence of the proposed fuzzy‐based handoff systems. The simulation results are also compared with those of classical MADM (Multiple Attribute Decision Making) method, i.e. SAW (Simple Additive Weighting). According to the results obtained, the proposed vertical handoff decision algorithms are able to determine whether a handoff is necessary or not, properly, and select the best candidate access network considering the aforementioned parameters. Magnetorheological (MR) damper is a prominent semi-active control device to vibrate mitigation of structures. Due to the inherent
non-linear nature of MR damper, an intelligent non-linear neuro-fuzzy control strategy is designed to control wave-induced
vibration of an offshore steel jacket platform equipped with MR dampers. In the proposed control system, a dynamic-feedback
neural network is adapted to model non-linear dynamic system, and the fuzzy logic controller is used to determine the control
forces of MR dampers. By use of two feedforward neural networks required voltages and actual MR damper forces are obtained,
in which the first neural network and the second one acts as the inverse dynamics model, and the forward dynamics model of
the MR dampers, respectively. The most important characteristic of the proposed intelligent control strategy is its inherent
robustness and its ability to handle the non-linear behavior of the system. Besides, no mathematical model needed to calculate
forces produced by MR dampers. According to linearized Morison equation, wave-induced forces are determined. The performance
of the proposed neuro-fuzzy control system is compared with that of a traditional semi-active control strategy, i.e., clipped
optimal control system with LQG-target controller, through computer simulations, while the uncontrolled system response is
used as the baseline. It is demonstrated that the design of proposed control system framework is more effective than that
of the clipped optimal control scheme with LQG-target controller to reduce the vibration of offshore structure. Furthermore,

In this paper, an investigation of flexible electrodes for photovoltaic textile structures utilizing polymer‐based organic materials is presented. The composite structure consisting of a blend of water dispersible carbon nanotube:polyaniline (CNT:PANI) components with poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) was applied to be used as the hole collecting electrode in photovoltaic textile applications. Both photovoltaic textiles and conventional solar cells were fabricated by using a blend of poly(3‐hexylthiophene‐2,5‐diyl) (P3HT):(6,6)‐phenyl C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). All devices were characterized by measuring current versus voltage characteristics under AM 1.5 conditions. The nanoscale morphology of the photovoltaic structures was investigated using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. 相似文献
