This review reports recent advances in the field of biopolymeric composites and nanocomposites for potential biomedical applications. These materials have attracted both academic and, for several composites, industrial attention because they exhibit properties required in the biomedical field. Herein, the structure, preparation and properties of biopolymeric composite blends are discussed in general, and detailed examples are also drawn from the scientific literature and practical work. Quality and safety parameters of Atlantic bonito gravad during 42 days of storage at 7 ± 1 °C were analysed using monitoring sensory quality, microbial contamination, nucleotide degradation products, biogenic amines (BA), trimethylamine (TMA) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). The shelf‐life of vacuum packed Atlantic bonito gravad was found to be 28 days. Total viable count (TVC) did not exceed 6 log CFU g?1. Malonodialdehyde (MDA) content did not surpass 10 mg kg?1. Nine biogenic amines were detected. Histamine level at the end of the storage was 355.3 mg kg?1. TMA increased from 53.9 to 619.1 mg kg?1. Among indicators based on the products of nucleotide degradation, the H value is best correlated with the sensory assessment. It can be concluded that the storage temperature of bonito gravad must be below 7 °C to prevent the threat to safety and quality posed by biogenic amines, especially histamine.  相似文献

The present article analyzes in detail different intrinsic small‐signal models for transistors. Particular attention is devoted to the non‐quasi‐static effects, which play a crucial role at microwave and millimeter‐wave frequencies. The advantages and disadvantages of these different equivalent circuit topologies are analyzed from both theoretical and experimental standpoints. This study clearly proves that best choice among these model representations depends on the specific device technology besides the investigated frequency range. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of new polyamides based on an aromatic asymmetric diamine‐containing phenoxy‐substituted benzophenone segment. Low‐temperature solution polycondensation reactions of this diamine with various aromatic diacid chlorides containing ether, hexafluoroisopropylidene or diphenylsilane groups resulted in polyamides with molecular weights in the range 102 900–113 200 g mol?1. The structures of these monomers and the corresponding polymers were fully confirmed using elemental analysis and infrared and NMR spectroscopy. All polyamides were easily soluble at room temperature in polar aprotic solvents and even in less polar solvents such as tetrahydrofuran. The polymers showed excellent thermal stability, up to 385 °C, and displayed glass transition temperatures in the range 225–256 °C. All the polymers presented blue florescence upon irradiation with UV light and thus show promise for applications in electroluminescent devices. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

We present a new hybrid numerical method for computing the transport of a passive pollutant by a flow. The flow is modeled by the Saint-Venant system of shallow water equations and the pollutant propagation is described by a transport equation. The idea behind the new finite-volume-particle (FVP) method is to use different schemes for the flow and the pollution computations: the shallow water equations are numerically integrated using a finite-volume scheme, while the transport equation is solved by a particle method. This way the specific advantages of each scheme are utilized at the right place. This results in a significantly enhanced resolution of the computed solution  相似文献

Oregon voters approved the first American statute authorizing physician-assisted suicide, the Oregon Death With Dignity Act, in 1994. The authors of this article identify some positive and negative psychological effects of laws such as Oregon's on patients. Generally, they conclude, on the basis of psychological theory and the available data, that laws such as Oregon's benefit patients psychologically. Undoubtedly, however, there exist important possible antitherapeutic effects on patients, and the authors hope that discussion of both therapeutic and antitherapeutic consequences will stimulate future research by social scientists in this area. The effect of solar radiation on the quercetin and kaempferol contents in the inflorescence of three broccoli cultivars (‘Lord’, ‘Marathon’ and ‘Fiesta’) was investigated from 1999 to 2001. Great differences in the contents of both flavonols, dependent on growing time and cultivar, were found. Quercetin and kaempferol contents varied from 14.3 to 81.0 mg kg−1 f.w. and from 35.9 to 213 mg kg−1 f.w., respectively. Inflorescences of the cultivar ‘Lord’ were characterised by the highest mean content of quercetin and those of cultivar ‘Fiesta’ of kaempferol. The contents of both flavonols were highly positively correlated with total solar radiation in the period from planting to the harvest of broccoli inflorescences.  相似文献

Deposition of trichlorosilanes with ester groups at their remote termini provides a convenient entry to carboxylic acid-bearing siloxane-anchored self-assembled monolayers. The de-esterification of these esters has been optimized to minimize monolayer damage, and their quantitative re-esterification provides clear evidence for the stability of these systems. Both the structure of the ester-terminated monolayer and its de-esterification/esterification chemistry can be easily monitored by FTIR-ATR measurements. This spectroscopic tool, together with a liquid cell that enables IR spectra to be measured in an aqueous environment, enables a detailed structural analysis of the carboxylic acid-bearing siloxane-anchored self-assembled monolayers and an assessment of their acid/base behavior (by in situ titration). The use of D2O instead of H2O for the in situ titration experiments also improves the available IR window. Both monomeric and dimeric/oligomeric acid groups are seen, and the relative ease of deprotonation of these various species can be directly monitored. Monomers of alkyl carboxylic acids that are hydrogen bonded only to surrounding water molecules have a pKa = 4.9, while the pKa for the aggregated molecules is 9.3. Similar behavior is seen for surface-bound benzoic acids, where the two pKa values are 4.7 and 9.0. The influence of temperature on these structures and their chemistry has been explored to a limited extent as well. When the alkylcarboxylic acid system is cooled to 10 °C, the pKa value for the acid monomers is reduced from 4.9 to 4.5 and increases from 9.3 to 10.3 for the aggregates.  相似文献
