Thin porous silicon (PS) films were prepared by HF/HNO3 vapor etching on silicon wafers. The infiltration of metallic cations inside the porous silicon matrix followed by slow heating in air leads to an interesting electrical and optical physical phenomena. Al3+, Cu+, K+, Li+ metallic cations as chloride or as nitrate solutions are infiltrated inside the silicon porous matrix. After annealing in air at 500 °C during 2 h a structure was achieved in order to measure the Nyquist diagram corresponding to the cations embedded in PS/silicon. The real and imaginary parts of the whole structure depend on the voltage bias and on the frequency. Those signify that the junction is a Schotky-barrier junction.

From the variation of Ln(σT) versus absolute temperature T, where σ is the conductivity, we have deduced the activation energy of the metallic impurities in the [100 °C–400 °C] temperature range. We have found that the activation energies are of about 0.19 eV, 0.25 eV, 0.49 eV and 0.71 eV for Cu+, K+, Al3+ and Li+ cations respectively. These kinds of structures are suitable for gas sensing, optical sensing or for the fabrication of fuel cell membranes.  相似文献

The A.C. impedance plots were used as tools to analyze the electrical response of two varieties of Tunisian halloysite 1: 1 and illitic samples 2: 1 as a function of frequency at different temperatures (80–800°C). The real and imaginary parts of the complex impedance trace semicircles in the complex plane. Except for the illite, It-1, the second sample analyzed in this study, these plots give evidence for the presence of both bulk and grain boundary effect, above 600°C onwards. The bulk resistance of the materials decreases with the rise in temperature. Impedance Spectroscopy data reveal a non-Debye type of dielectric relaxation. The Nyquist plots show the negative temperature coefficient of resistance of both pure Tunisian illite and halloysite samples. The results of bulk electrical conductivity and its activation energy are presented for the two mineral clay samples. For illite It-1, the activation energy values estimated from the AC conductivity pattern and modulus pattern are very similar and suggest a possibility of a long-range mobility of charge carriers (ions) via hopping mechanism of electrical transport processes at higher temperature. On the other hand, for the halloysite sample provided from kasserine, (Ha-Kass), the modulus analysis admit that the electrical transport processes of the material are very likely of electronic nature. Relaxation frequencies follow an Arrhenius behavior with the activation energy values not comparable to those found for the electrical conductivity.  相似文献

The study evaluated different mucoadhesive polymeric hydrogels for nasal delivery of acyclovir. Gels containing poly-N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (PVP) were prepared with crosslinking achieved by irradiation with a radiation dose of 15 kGy being as efficient as 20 kGy. Gels containing chitosan and carbopol were also evaluated. The mucoadhesive properties of gels were measured by a modification of a classical tensile experiment, employing a tensile tester and using freshly excised sheep nasal mucosa. Considering the mucoadhesive force, chitosan gel and gel prepared with 3% PVP in presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG) 600 were the most efficient. The in vitro drug release depended on the gel composition. Higher release rates were obtained from PVP gels compared to chitosan or carbopol gels. The release rate of drug from PVP gels was increased further in presence of PEG or glycerol. Histopathological investigations proved that the PVP was a safe hydrogel to be used for mucosal delivery. The PEG in gel formulations caused less damages to the nasal mucosal compared to formulation containing glycerol.  相似文献

The synthesis and properties of a series of bis-tetrathiafulvalenes (bis-TTFs) containing nitrophenyl, aminophenyl or dimethylaminophenyl is reported. The synthesis was carried out by using routes involving Wittig-type, cross-coupling, reduction and alkylation reactions. The electron donor ability of these new compounds has been measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV). Charge transfer complexes with tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) were prepared by chemical redox reactions. The complexes have been proven to give conducting materials.  相似文献

Eight Murciano-Granadina dairy goats in late lactation were exposed to different ambient conditions, using metabolic cages in a climatic chamber. The experimental design was a crossover (2 periods of 35 d and 4 goats each) and conditions were (1) thermal neutral (TN; 15 to 20°C day-night) and (2) heat stress (HS; 12-h day at 37°C and 12-h night at 30.5°C). Humidity was maintained at 40% and light-dark was constant (12–12 h). The forage:concentrate ratio was adjusted daily for maintaining similar value in TN and HS goats (70:30). Water was freely available at ambient temperature. Rectal temperature and respiratory rate (0800, 1200 and 1700 h) and milk yield were recorded daily, whereas milk composition, nonesterified fatty acids and haptoglobin in blood were analyzed weekly. At d 25, additional blood samples were taken for analysis of metabolites and indicators of the acid-base balance. Digestibility coefficients and N balance were determined (d 31 to 35) and body weight was recorded (d 35). Compared with TN goats, HS goats experienced greater rectal temperature (+0.58°C), respiratory rate (+48 breaths/min), water intake (+77%) and water evaporation (+207%). Intake of HS goats rapidly declined until d 7 (−40%), partially recovered from d 7 to 19, and steadied thereafter (−14%). No changes in digestibility or N balance were detected. Blood nonesterified fatty acids and haptoglobin peaked at d 7 in HS goats but did not vary thereafter. Although milk yield did not vary by treatment, milk of HS goats contained −12.5% protein and −11.5% casein than TN goats. Panting reduced concentration and pressure of CO2 in the blood of HS goats, but they were able to maintain their blood pH similar to the TN group by lowering HCO3 and increasing Cl concentrations in their blood. In conclusion, HS dairy goats showed dramatic physiological changes during the first week of treatment and partially recovered thereafter. They were able to maintain milk yield by losing body mass, but milk protein content and protein yield were depressed. Further research is needed to assess the response of dairy goats to HS at earlier stages of lactation.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The agro‐industries generate thousands of tons of by‐products, such as bran or pulps, each year. They are, at best, used for cattle feeding. Through biocracking, this biomass may constitute a renewable source for various molecules of interest for the industry. For instance, ferulic acid, a compound showing antioxidant ability, is found in abundance in cereal bran. Its release depends mainly on the breaking of its ester linkage to other constitutive elements of the cell wall, such as arabinoxylans. Response surface methodology was used to evaluate the effects of ferulic acid esterase (FAE) and xylanase activities, as well as incubation time and temperature, on ferulic acid extraction yield from wheat bran. Under optimized conditions, the composition of the hydrolysate and of residual bran were compared to native bran. RESULTS: Experiments carried out under the predicted optimal conditions (FAE amount, 27 U g?1; xylanase amount, 304 U g?1; incubation time, 2 h; and temperature, 65 °C) led to an extraction yield of 52.8%, agreeing with the expected value (51.0%). The crude ferulic acid fraction was purified with Amberlite XAD16, leading to a final concentration of 125 µg mL?1 of ferulic acid in ethanol. The antioxidant capacity of this purified fraction was evaluated by the DPPH· scavenging method: it exhibited better efficiency (EC50 = 10.6 µmol L?1 in ferulic acid) than the ferulic acid standard (EC50 = 13.7 µmol L?1). CONCLUSION: These results confirm the potential of wheat bran valorization in the field of natural antioxidant extraction, possibly viable in an industrial scheme. This paper experimentally investigates the performance of micro and nano metfoam regenerators in alpha-type Stirling engine conditions. The thermal efficiency of this engine depends on performance of regenerator. Therefore, increase the heat recovery of regenerator raises the total efficiency. Accordingly, two types of regenerators from porous media are designed and simulated with different materials. Three-dimensional regenerator CFD simulation shows that randomize porous open cell metfoam made of silver as high conductivity and high heat capacity material is the best structure to fabricate metfoam regenerator. The porosity and matrix element diameter are optimized. The nano coating methodology enhances the activated surface. The regenerators are fabricated using casting polymer mold layer deposition. The nano silver particles are coated on the metfoam by sol-gel coating method. Experimental results show the improvement in regenerator percentage of heat recovery by 3.40% and 5.93% for micro metfoam and nano metfoam, respectively. The maximum improvement is achieved up to 8.65% in case of using the nano metfoam regenerator at 543 K.  相似文献

Antibacterial activity of forty lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolates toward Staphylococcus aureus was evaluated. The selected strains were then used as protective culture in artificial contaminated Domiati like cheese with S. aureus. The effect of using these strains on physicochemical properties and overall acceptability of fresh cheese was evaluated. Depending on its antibacterial activity, three strains of Lactobacillus rhamnosus 130RZFAAU, 131RZFAAU, and 190RZFAAU were selected for cheese making. No negative sensory properties were observed by the panelists when LAB strains were used as a single culture in the fresh cheese making. The application of these strains as protective culture in artificial contaminated cheesemaking process give a positive results. S. aureus was detected in cheese samples by culture method and propidium mono azide–quantitative polymerase chain reaction method. The results recommended that the strain L. rahmnosus 131RZFAUU that used in this study has antimicrobial activity against S. aureus and could be used as protective culture for improving the safety of Egyptian soft cheese.

Practical applications

Detection of pathogenic bacteria by classical tests can take several days. It would be useful to have a rapid detection protocol to screen for the presence of Staphylococcus aureus in milk and cheese. Application of real‐time PCR in cheese is sufficient in characterization the S. aureus communities in raw milk and follow the dynamics of the entire populations in cheese. Recently, some scientific publications have shown that the naturally cheese microflora can efficiently prevent the growth of pathogenic or spoilage microorganisms. The control of spoilage and pathogens bacteria has been traditionally done by chemical additives, but the application of promising protective cultures, especially for traditionally cheeses made from raw milk, is limited. This work present some protective culture selected for controlling S. aureus in soft cheese. This work confirm the PMA‐q PCR method for detection live cells of S. aureus in cheese rapidly.  相似文献
