In this paper, a two-dimensional computational investigation of coupled heat and mass transfer process in an annular cylindrical hydrogen storage device filled with MmNi4.6Al0.4MmNi4.6Al0.4 is presented using a commercial software FLUENT 6.1.22. Hydrogen storage performance of the device is studied by varying the operating parameters such as hydrogen supply pressure and absorption temperature. Further, the effects of various bed parameters such as hydride bed thickness and overall heat transfer coefficient on the storage performance of the device are also studied. The average temperature of the hydriding bed and hydrogen storage capacity at different supply pressures showed good agreement with the experimental data reported in the literature. It is observed that as the hydriding process is initiated, the absorption of hydrogen increases rapidly and then it slows down after the temperature of the hydride bed increases due to the heat of the reaction. At any given absorption temperature, the hydrogen absorption rate and hydrogen storage capacity are found to increase with the supply pressure. The variation in the hydrogen absorption capacity, rate of reaction and temperature profiles at different supply pressures from 5 to 35 bar in steps of 5 bar are presented. Further, the effects of overall heat transfer coefficients from 750 to 1250 W/m2 K and cooling fluid temperatures from 288 to 298 K on hydrogen storage capacity are also investigated. It is shown that the heat transfer rate enhances the hydriding rate by accomplishing a rapid reaction. At the supply condition of 35 bar and 298 K, MmNi4.6Al0.4MmNi4.6Al0.4 stores about 13.1 g of hydrogen per kg of alloy.  相似文献

Thermomechanically controlled rolling of steel plate can involve substantial straining in the intercritical temperature region, which may result in the final ferrite grains not fully recrystallizing, and, hence, the presence of low-angle grain boundaries. It is shown in this article that a Nb-microalloyed thermomechanically controlled rolled (TMCR) steel can contain a high proportion of low-angle grain boundaries (the extent depending on the thermomechanically controlled rolling schedule) and that during toughness testing, the crack front ignores boundaries with less than a 12 deg misorientation. Thus, the average microstructural unit experienced by the crack front (i.e., the cleavage facet) is significantly larger than the average metallographic, two-dimensional grain size. Consequently, use of the metallographic grain size gives a poor prediction of the impact transition temperature (ITT) and fracture stress for these steels. It is also shown that the micromechanism of crack initiation and propagation involves grain-boundary carbides and groups of closely aligned grains that act as single “effective” grains.  相似文献

In this work, we use a dissipative-particle-dynamics (DPD)-based two-phase model to study the breakup of liquid nanojets. We show that the breakup of nanojets is accelerated by the presence of thermal fluctuations. Satellite drops, which are undesirable from an application viewpoint, are not observed in our simulations. We find that the presence of a repulsive wall enclosing the DPD liquid is necessary to prevent clogging of nanojets. We are able to recover the time evolution of minimum jet radius as given by prior theoretical analysis. This study shows that DPD is able to capture the thermal induced breakup phenomena at the sub-micron level. The coarse-grained nature of DPD along with its flexibility to allow for the modeling of complex fluids in combination with the results from this study show that DPD is a useful tool for sub-micron fluid flow simulations.  相似文献

Fatty acid and triglyceride compositions of the seed oil of Thea sinensis (tea seed oil) of Indian origin have been determined by combination of techniques of low temperature crystallisation, spectrophotometry, pancreatic lipase hydrolysis, thin-layer chromatography, gas–liquid chromatography and densitometry. Percentages of individual fatty acids were found to be: palmitic, 17.8; stearic, 3.0; oleic, 59.9; linoleic, 18.0. Triglyceride composition was calculated from the fatty acid compositions of the native oil and of the monoglycerides produced from it by pancreatic lipase hydrolysis. The oil is composed of 0.7, 11.1, 41.9 and 46.3% GS3, GS2U, GSU2 and GU3 respectively. Prominent features of the oil is its content of 11.6, 21.4 and 22.0% dioleolinolein, triolein and dioleopalmitin respectively.  相似文献
