Ice-glazing is applied to protect the frozen shrimp from undesirable quality changes during frozen storage. Effects of initial frozen shrimp temperature on glaze uptake; glazing time on glaze uptake; and different glaze percentage on physical and chemical changes of frozen shrimp during storage were investigated. Shrimps were frozen in a spiral freezing machine (?35 °C/15 min); transferred to the air blast freezer until the core temperature reached ?18 °C, ?25 °C and ?30 °C; submitted to glazing process; and stored at ?18 °C for 180 days. The glazing percentage, pH and N-TVB levels were monitored every 45 days. This study has demonstrated the effectiveness of the glazing process as a protecting agent for frozen shrimp. A reasonable range of water uptake could be between 15% and 20% to guarantee the final quality. Therefore, it is important to prevent temperature fluctuations during transportation and storage to maintain the quality of the frozen shrimps. 相似文献

The production of biohydrogen through anaerobic fermentation has received increasingly attention and has great potential as an alternative process for clean fuel production in the future. The monitoring of the stages of anaerobic fermentation provides relevant information about the bioprocess. The objective of this study is to propose a novel methodology for simultaneous analysis of sucrose, glucose, fructose and volatile fatty acids (VFAs), such as, acetic, propionic, isobutyric and butyric during anaerobic fermentation by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The following chromatographic conditions were optimized: column Aminex HPX-87H, mobile phase consisting of H2SO4 0.005 mol/L, flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and temperature of 55 °C. Sucrose, glucose and fructose were analyzed by refractive index detector (RI) while acetic, propionic, isobutyric and butyric acids were analyzed by ultraviolet (UV) detection at 210 nm. Some analytical parameters of validation, such as, linearity, selectivity, repeatability, intermediate precision, limit of detection and quantification, accuracy and robustness were evaluated. In recent years, more realistic safety analyses of nuclear reactors have been based on best estimate (BE) computer codes. The need to validate and refine BE codes that are used in the predictions of relevant reactor safety parameters, led to the organization of international benchmarks based on high quality experimental data. The OECD/NRC BWR full-size fine-mesh bundle test (BFBT) benchmark offers a good opportunity to assess the accuracy of thermal-hydraulic codes in predicting, among other parameters, single and two phase bundle pressure drop, cross-sectional averaged void fraction distributions and critical powers under a wide range of system conditions. The BFBT is based on a multi-rod assembly integral test facility which is able to simulate the high pressure, high temperature fluid conditions found in BWRs through electrically heated rod bundles. Since code accuracy is unavoidably affected by models and experimental uncertainties, an uncertainty analysis is fundamental in order to have a complete validation study. In this paper, statistical uncertainty and sensitivity analyses are used to validate the thermal-hydraulic features of the POLCA-T code, based on a one dimensional model of the following macroscopic BFBT exercises: (1) single and two phase bundle pressure drop, (2) steady-state cross-sectional averaged void fraction, (3) transient cross-sectional averaged void fraction and (4) steady-state critical power tests. The Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) strategy was chosen since it densely stratifies across the range of each uncertain input probability distribution, allowing a much better coverage of the input uncertainties than simple random sampling (SRS). The results show that POLCA-T predictions on pressure drop and void fractions under a wide range of conditions are within the validation limits imposed by the uncertainty analysis, while the accuracy of critical power predictions depends much on the boundary and input conditions. 相似文献

Brazilian petrobras is one of the world largest oil companies. Recurrently, it faces a very difficult planning and scheduling problem: how to
operate a large pipeline network in order to adequately transport oil derivatives and biofuels from refineries to local markets.
In spite of being more economical and environmentally safer, the use of a complex pipeline network poses serious operational
difficulties related to resource allocation and temporal constraints. The current approaches known from the literature only
consider a few types of constraints and restricted topologies, hence they are far from being applicable to real instances
from petrobras. We propose a hybrid framework based on a two-phase problem decomposition strategy. A novel Constraint Programming (CP) model
plays a key role in modelling operational constraints that are usually overlooked in literature, but that are essential in

Increasing use of petroleum, coupled with concern for global warming, demands the development and institution of CO2 reducing, non-fossil fuel-based alternative energy-generating strategies. Ethanol is a potential alternative, particularly when produced in a sustainable way as is envisioned for sugarcane in Brazil. We consider the expansion of sugarcane-derived ethanol to displace 5% of projected gasoline use worldwide in 2025. With existing technology, 21 million hectares of land will be required to produce the necessary ethanol. This is less than 7% of current Brazilian agricultural land and equivalent to current soybean land use. New production lands come from pasture made available through improving pasture management in the cattle industry. With the continued introduction of new cane varieties (annual yield increases of about 1.6%) and new ethanol production technologies, namely the hydrolysis of bagasse to sugars for ethanol production and sugarcane trash collection providing renewable process energy production, this could reduce these modest land requirements by 29–38%. 相似文献

This work describes the first fully direct coupling of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) with mass spectrometry. An inlet system using a septum as the only interface between the ambient and the high-vacuum mass spectrometer was constructed to allow the introduction of the SPME needle directly into the ionization region of a mass spectrometer. The PDMS-coated fiber was then placed and exposed exactly between the two ionization filaments. Uniform heating of the fiber, efficient thermal desorption, and electron ionization of the analytes were achieved. Using this new analytical technique, here termed fiber introduction mass spectrometry (FIMS), we have been able to detect and quantitate several volatile (VOC) and semivolatile (SVOC) organic chemicals (carbon tetrachloride, benzene, toluene, xylenes, gamma-terpinene, diisoamyl ether, chlorobenzene, and many PAHs) and two herbicides (Sylvex and its methyl ether) from aqueous solutions at low-ppb to ppt levels using either SPME headspace or solution extraction. FIMS shows high sensitivity (ng/L), good reproducibility, and accuracy, providing therefore a simple and effective approach to rapid analysis of VOC and SVOC in various matrixes. 相似文献

A method to determine the refractive index and thickness of silver halide emulsions used in holography is presented. The emulsions are in the form of a layer of film deposited on a thick glass plate. The experimental reflectances of p-polarized light are measured as a function of the incident angles, and the values of refractive index, thickness, and extinction coefficient of the emulsion are obtained by using the theoretical equation for reflectance. As examples, five commercial holographic silver halide emulsions are analyzed. The procedure to obtain the measurements and the numerical analysis of the experimental data are simple, and agreement of the calculated reflectances, by use of the thickness and refractive index obtained, with the measured reflectances is satisfactory. 相似文献

The application of the photo-Fenton process to the treatment of saline wastewater contaminated with hydrocarbons is investigated. Aqueous saline solutions containing raw gasoline were used as a model oil-field-produced water. The dependence on concentrations of the following reagents has been appropriately evaluated: hydrogen peroxide (100-200 mM), iron ions (0.5-1 mM), and sodium chloride (200-2000 ppm). The reactions were monitored by measurement of the absorption spectra and total organic carbon (TOC). Experimental results demonstrate that the photo-Fenton process is feasible for the treatment of wastewaters containing hydrocarbons, even in the presence of high concentrations of salt. The effect of the salt in this process is described through a series of reactions. A simple feedforward neural network model was found to correlate well the observed data for the degradation process. 相似文献

We investigate the use of laser reflectometry near the critical angle to monitor particle adsorption onto a flat glass surface. Experimental results show that positive particles are adsorbed onto the glass surface and that their adsorption kinetics depend strongly on the volume fraction occupied by the particles in suspension but not appreciably on the particle size. The reflectance near the critical angle is dominated by the particles on the surface, with the contribution of the particles in suspension being very low. We compare the reflectance change near the critical angle with the change in reflectance near the Brewster angle when particles are adsorbed onto the glass surface. We find that reflectometry near the critical angle is 3000 times more sensitive than it is near the Brewster angle. Some optical images are presented to validate our results. 相似文献
