In this work, polypropylene/thermoplastic starch (PP/TPS) with and without halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) was prepared via melt mixing in order to obtain environmentally friendly plastics. PP‐grafted maleic anhydride (PP‐g‐MA) was used to improve the compatibility among the highly incompatible polymers. The mechanical characterization showed a reduction in the tensile properties of the polymer when TPS increased; however, HNT successfully compensated for some of the observed losses. The results from the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) indicated that HNT is an efficient reinforcement for the thermal stability improvement. TPS caused an increase in the storage modulus (G′) and the complex viscosity (η*) which marks a change in the viscoelastic properties of the system. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) images showed the effective plasticization of starch and better dispersion of TPS in the presence of HNT. Some samples were also buried in the soil to measure their sustainability after their lifetime lapse. The results indicated that TPS improves the biodegradability of the PP/TPS system. PP considerably lowered the moisture uptake of TPS; nevertheless, HNT caused a slight increase in the moisture absorption. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. 2D titanium carbides (MXene) possess significant characteristics including high conductivity and electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI SE) that are important for applications in printed and flexible electronics. However, MXene‐based ink formulations are yet to be demonstrated for proper inkjet printing of MXene patterns. Here, tandem repeat synthetic proteins based on squid ring teeth (SRT) are employed as templates of molecular self‐assembly to engineer MXene inks that can be printed as stimuli‐responsive electrodes on various substrates including cellulose paper, glass, and flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET). MXene electrodes printed on PET substrates are able to display electrical conductivity values as high as 1080 ± 175 S cm?1, which significantly exceeds electrical conductivity values of state‐of‐the‐art inkjet‐printed electrodes composed of other 2D materials including graphene (250 S cm?1) and reduced graphene oxide (340 S cm?1). Furthermore, this high electrical conductivity is sustained under excessive bending deformation. These flexible electrodes also exhibit effective EMI SE values reaching 50 dB at films with thicknesses of 1.35 µm, which mainly originate from their high electrical conductivity and layered structure.  相似文献

This paper addresses a fundamental trade-off in dynamic scheduling between the cost of scheduling and the quality of the resulting schedules. The time allocated to scheduling must be controlled explicitly, in order to obtain good-quality schedules in reasonable times. As task constraints are relaxed, the algorithms proposed in this paper increase scheduling complexity to optimize longer and obtain high-quality schedules. When task constraints are tightened, the algorithms adjust scheduling complexity to reduce the adverse effect of long scheduling times on the schedule quality. We show that taking into account the scheduling time is crucial for honoring the deadlines of scheduled tasks. We investigate the performance of our algorithms in two scheduling models: one that allows idle-time intervals to exist in the schedule and another that does not. The model with idle-time intervals has important implications for dynamic scheduling which are discussed in the paper. Experimental evaluation of the proposed algorithms shows that our algorithms outperform other candidate algorithms in several parameter configurations.  相似文献

Mints (Mentha species) are widely used as food, medicine, spice, and flavoring agents. At the present work, phenolics profile of infusion and ethanol extract of Mentha longifolia was determined using an RP–HPLC–DAD system. Total bioactive contents, radical scavenging, reducing power, metal chelating, and enzyme inhibitory activities relevant to Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes mellitus, and skin disorders were evaluated. Sixteen phenolic compounds (ten phenolic acids and six flavonoids) were identified in the extracts in which sinapic acid (7132 µg/g extract) and rosmarinic acid (6260 µg/g extract) were the most abundant compounds. Strong antioxidant effects were observed in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical, 2,2?-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), cupric ion reducing activity, ferric reducing antioxidant power, phosphomolybdenum, and metal chelating assays. Results indicated selective acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity and high α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory potential. Findings showed that M. longifolia has promising health benefits due to its high concentration of useful phenolic compounds and has great potential for possible applications in the preparation of functional ingredients.  相似文献

There are several kinds of catalyst for tar reduction such as Ni-based catalysts, alkali catalysts, metal catalysts, and char. Char is a nonmetallic material which be generated by the devolatilization of organic materials. In this article, by using an experimental setup we tried to study the effect of char particles as a catalyst on the tar concentration and produced gas from steam gasification of bitumen oil and to introduce effective parameters in the process of syngas generation. With the increase of gasification temperature from 800 to 950°C, the hydrogen increased sharply from 28.4 vol% to 34.9 vol% and 18.5 vol% to 21.3 vol%, while CO decreased from 12.5 vol% to 14.9 vol% and 14.8 vol% to 18.1 vol% for gasification with and without char, respectively. As a result, it was found that the gas produced is not sensitive to the pressure changes.  相似文献

This paper investigates the possibilities of viable power electronics converters, semiconductor switching devices and electric machines for 10 MW variable‐speed wind turbine generators. The maximum rated power of existing wind turbine configurations is in the range of 6 MW. The proposed alternatives are compared against several technical and economical factors, and their advantages over the present wind turbines are highlighted. A comprehensive performance comparison of modern power semiconductor devices, their electrical characteristics and the key differentiators among them are presented. The power electronics converters considered include all commercially available multilevel voltage source and current source converters as well as the opportunities offered by power electronics building block‐based design. The factors used for the comparison include the converter power range, capacitor voltage balancing, common mode voltage and current, electromagnetic interference emissions, fault ride‐through capability, reliability, footprint, harmonic performance, efficiency and losses, component count, risk of torsional vibration by the harmonics and inter‐harmonics, complexity, ease of back‐to‐back operation and filtering requirements. For the electric machines, this study concentrates on high‐temperature superconducting machines, multi‐phase induction machines and permanent magnet synchronous machines. These machines are compared against existing wind generator technologies in terms of their power range, torque density, efficiency, fault ride‐through capability, reliability, footprint, harmonic performance, ease of fault detection, excitation control, noise and vibration signature, oscillation damping, gearbox requirement, cost and the size of the associated converter. In this paper a new algorithm for allocating energy and determining the optimum amount of network active power reserve capacity and the share of generating units and demand side contribution in providing reserve capacity requirements for day-ahead market is presented. In the proposed method, the optimum amount of reserve requirement is determined based on network security set by operator. In this regard, Expected Load Not Supplied (ELNS) is used to evaluate system security in each hour. The proposed method has been implemented over the IEEE 24-bus test system and the results are compared with a deterministic security approach, which considers certain and fixed amount of reserve capacity in each hour. This comparison is done from economic and technical points of view. The promising results show the effectiveness of the proposed model which is formulated as mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and solved by GAMS software.  相似文献

We studied the catalytic effects of Titanium, Iron and FeTi intermetallic on the desorption kinetics of magnesium hydride. In order to separate the catalytic effects of each element from additional synergistic and alloying effects, Mg-Ti and Mg-Fe mixtures were studied as a baseline for Mg-Fe-Ti elemental and Mg-(FeTi) intermetallic composites. Sub-micron dimensions for MgH2 particles and excellent nanoscale catalyst dispersion was achieved by high-energy ball-milling as confirmed by analytical electron microscopy techniques. The composites containing Fe shows desorption temperature of 170 K lower than as-received MgH2 powder, which makes it suitable to be cycled at relatively low temperature of 523 K. Furthermore, the low cycling temperature prevents the formation of Mg2FeH6. In sorption cycling tests, Mg-10% Ti and Mg-10% (FeTi), after about 5 activation cycles, show fast desorption kinetics initially, but the kinetics also degrade faster than for all other composites, eventually slowing down by a factor of 7 and 4, respectively. The ternary Mg-Fe-Ti composite shows best performance. With the highest BET surface area of 40 m2/g, it also shows much less degradation during cycling. This is attributed to titanium hydride acting as a size control agent preventing agglomeration of particles; while Fe works as a very strong catalyst with uniform and nanoscale dispersion on the surface of MgH2 particles.  相似文献
