Catalytic ignition or ‘light-off’ has been studied for a reaction of importance in automobile exhaust emissions, namely, CO oxidation over Pd, a metal which has become an important component of car catalysts. We present kinetic and spectroscopic studies to show that light-off is associated with a step change in surface composition of reactants as the surface is heated. Fast XPS using synchrotron radiation of high brightness reveals that the surface is dominated by CO at low temperature and the coverage suddenly switches during light-off to an oxygen-atom-dominated situation. Mixed pixels are a major source of inconvenience in the classification of remotely sensed data. This paper compares MLP with so-called neuro-fuzzy algorithms in the estimation of pixel component cover classes. Two neuro-fuzzy networks are selected from the literature as representatives of soft classifiers featuring different combinations of fuzzy set-theoretic principles with neural network learning mechanisms. These networks are: 1) the fuzzy multilayer perceptron (FMLP) and 2) a two-stage hybrid (TSH) learning neural network whose unsupervised first stage consists of the fully self-organizing simplified adaptive resonance theory (FOSART) clustering model, FMLP, TSH, and MLP are compared on CLASSITEST, a standard set of synthetic images where per-pixel proportions of cover class mixtures are known a priori. Results are assessed by means of evaluation tools specifically developed for the comparison of soft classifiers. Experimental results show that classification accuracies of FMLP and TSH are comparable, whereas TSH is faster to train than FMLP. On the other hand, FMLP and TSW outperform MLP when little prior knowledge is available for training the network, i.e., when no fuzzy training sites, describing intermediate label assignments, are available  相似文献

The objective of this research is to identify the benefits of ergonomic improvements in workstations and in planned parts supply in an automotive assembly line. Another aim is to verify to what extent it is possible to create competitive advantages in the manufacturing area with reduction in vehicle assembly time by using technological investments in ergonomics with benefits to the worker and to the company. The Methods Time Measurement (MTM) methodology is chosen to measure the process time differences. To ensure a reliable comparison, a company in Brazil that has two different types of assembly line installations in the same plant was observed, and both assembly lines were under the same influences in terms of human resources, wages, food, and educational level of the staff. In this article, the first assembly line is called “new” and was built 6 years ago, with high investments in ergonomic solutions, in the supply system, and in the process. A knowledge-based, hierarchical, unsupervised classification scheme for high-resolution multispectral satellite (HRMS) images is described. This scheme, which finds its conceptual bases in the work of Nagao and Matsuyama for structural analysis of aerial photographs, introduces a new filtering algorithm which is able to preserve fine linear structures of the image. The pathogenetic agents which cause encephalopathy due to fulminant hepatic failure are still under debate. Ammonia and benzodiazepine-like compounds are two of the most important agents considered, so far. Herein, we report the levels of benzodiazepine-like compounds in serum and in urine and of venous ammonia measured during the course of the disease (30 days). The patient rapidly developed stage IV encephalopathy with high levels of ammonia and with only a slight increase of benzodiazepine-like compounds. At that moment, the levels of these compounds were similar to those recorded in the blood when the patient regained full consciousness 28 days later. During the course of the disease, there was a 10-fold increase of benzodiazepine-like compounds in serum which was recorded in parallel with an impaired excretion due to oliguria. This observation seems to indicate that encephalopathy may develop in the absence of significantly increased levels of these compounds and that their episodic increase during fulminant hepatic failure may be an epiphenomenon linked with several factors such as impaired renal function.  相似文献

Molecular differential cross sections for the coherent scattering of x-rays in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and fat were determined from measured diffraction patterns in the interval chi = 0 to 6.4 nm-1 (chi = [sin theta/2)]/lambda; lambda being the incident wavelength having the units of nm and theta the scattering angle). All measurements were performed at a controlled temperature of 23 degrees C. The final results for PMMA show overall agreement when compared with the data existing in the literature. However, some discrepancies with the results reported by Kosanetzky et al in 1987 are found at the first three maxima. The data for filtered fat material are reported here for the first time. Finally, data sets of molecular form factors for fat and PMMA were compiled from the smoothed corrected experimental results by assuming these materials to be mono-molecular.  相似文献

1. The present study describes the binding to rat striatal A2A adenosine receptors of the new potent and selective antagonist radioligand, [3H]-5-amino-7-(2-phenylethyl)-2-(2-furyl)-pyrazolo[4,3-e]-1,2,4-triazol o [1,5-c] pyrimidine, [3H]-SCH 58261. 2. [3H]-SCH 58261 specific binding to rat striatal membranes ( > 90%) was saturable, reversible and dependent upon protein concentration. Saturation experiments revealed that [3H]-SCH 58261 labelled a single class of recognition sites with high affinity (Kd = 0.70 nM) and limited capacity (apparent Bmax = 971 fmol mg-1 of protein). The presence of 100 microM GTP in the incubation mixture did not modify [3H]-SCH 58261 binding parameters. 3. Competition experiments showed that [3H]-SCH 58261 binding is consistent with the labelling of A2A striatal receptors. Adenosine receptor agonists competed with the binding of 0.2 nM [3H]-SCH 58261 with the following order of potency: 2-hexynyl-5'-N-ethyl carboxamidoadenosine (2HE-NECA) > 5'-N-ethylcarboxamidoadenosine (NECA) > 2-[4-(2-carboxyethyl)-phenethylamino]-5'-N-ethylcarboxamidoadenosi ne (CGS 21680) > 2-phenylaminoadenosine (CV 1808) > R-N6-phenylisopropyladenosine (R-PIA) > N6-cyclohexyladenosine (CHA) = 2-chloro-N6-cyclopentyladenosine (CCPA) > S-N6-phenylisopropyladenosine (S-PIA). 4. Adenosine antagonists inhibited [3H]-SCH 58261 binding with the following order: 5-amino-9-chloro-2-(2-furyl)-[1,2,4]-triazolo[1,5-c] quinazoline (CGS 15943) > 5-amino-8-(4-fluorobenzyl)-2-(2-furyl)-pyrazolo [4,3-e]-1,2,4-triazolo [1,5-c] pyrimidine (8FB-PTP) = SCH 58261 > xanthine amine congener (XAC) = (E,18%-Z,82%)7-methyl-8-(3,4-dimethoxystyryl)-1,3-dipropylxanthine (KF 17837S) > 8-cyclopentyl-1,3-dipropylxanthine (DPCPX) > or = 8-phenyltheophylline (8-PT). 5. The Ki values for adenosine antagonists were similar to those labelled with the A2A agonist [3H]-CGS 21680. Affinities of agonists were generally lower. The A1-selective agonist, R-PIA, was found to be about 9 fold more potent than its stereoisomer, S-PIA, thus showing the stereoselectivity of [3H]-SCH 58261 binding. Except for 8-PT, the adenosine agonists and antagonists examined inhibited [3H]-SCH 58261 binding with Hill coefficients not significantly different from unity. 6. The present results indicate that [3H]-SCH 58261 is the first non-xanthine adenosine antagonist radioligand which directly labels A2A striatal receptors. High receptor affinity, good selectivity and very low non-specific binding make [3H]-SCH 58261 an excellent probe for studying the A2A adenosine receptor subtype in mammalian brain.  相似文献
