A novel voltammetric sensor based on chemically modified bentonite–porphyrin carbon paste electrode (MBPCE) has been introduced for the determination of trace amount of Mn(II) in wheat flour, wheat rice and vegetables. In this method Mn(II) gives well-defined voltammetric peak at the pH range of 3.5–7.5. For the preliminary screening purpose, the catalyst was prepared by modification of bentonite with porphyrin and characterized by thermogravimetric method (TG) and UV–vis spectroscopy. The detection limit (three times signal-to-noise) with 4 min accumulation is 1.07 × 10−7 mol L−1 Mn(II). The peak currents increases linearly with Mn(II) concentration over the range of 6.0 × 10−7 to 5.0 × 10−4 mol L−1 (r2 = 0.9959). Statistical treatment of the results gave a relative standard deviation lower than 2.30%. The chemical and instrumental parameters have been optimized and the results showed that 1000-fold excess of the additive ions had not interferences on the determination of Mn(II).  相似文献

The viscoelastic behaviour of a biological material is central to its functioning and is an indicator of its health. The Fung quasi-linear viscoelastic (QLV) model, a standard tool for characterizing biological materials, provides excellent fits to most stress–relaxation data by imposing a simple form upon a material''s temporal relaxation spectrum. However, model identification is challenging because the Fung QLV model''s ‘box’-shaped relaxation spectrum, predominant in biomechanics applications, can provide an excellent fit even when it is not a reasonable representation of a material''s relaxation spectrum. Here, we present a robust and simple discrete approach for identifying a material''s temporal relaxation spectrum from stress–relaxation data in an unbiased way. Our ‘discrete QLV’ (DQLV) approach identifies ranges of time constants over which the Fung QLV model''s typical box spectrum provides an accurate representation of a particular material''s temporal relaxation spectrum, and is effective at providing a fit to this model. The DQLV spectrum also reveals when other forms or discrete time constants are more suitable than a box spectrum. After validating the approach against idealized and noisy data, we applied the methods to analyse medial collateral ligament stress–relaxation data and identify the strengths and weaknesses of an optimal Fung QLV fit.  相似文献

This research was carried out to investigate on the effect of organomodified montmorillonite (OMMT) on the flame retarding characteristics and clay dispersion of composites based on high‐density polyethylene and rice husk flour. To meet this objective, the blend nanocomposites were prepared through the melt mixing of high‐density polyethylene and rice husk flour at 50% weight ratios, with various amounts of OMMT (0, 2, 4, and 6 per hundred compounds) in Hakee internal mixer; then, the samples were made by injection molding. Results indicated that the burning rate, total smoke production, and heat release rate of samples decreased with increasing the OMMT content. Also, the char residue and time to ignition increased with increasing the nanoclay loading. X‐ray diffraction patterns revealed that the nanocomposites formed were intercalated. Also, morphological findings showed that samples containing 2 per hundred compounds of OMMT had higher order of intercalation and better dispersion. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three-way data obtained from different pulse heights of differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was analyzed using multivariate curve resolution by alternating least squares (MCR-ALS) algorithm. Differential pulse voltammograms of tryptophan were recorded at a gold nanoparticles decorated multiwalled carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE/MWCNTs-nanoAu). The determination of tryptophan was performed even in the presence of unexpected electroactive interference(s). Both the simulated and experimental data were non-bilinear. Therefore a potential shift algorithm was used to correct the observed shift in the data. After correction, the data was augmented and MCR-ALS was applied to the augmented data. A relative error of prediction of less than 8% for the determination of the simulated analyte of interest and tryptophan in synthetic samples indicated that the methodology employing voltammetry and second-order calibration could be applied to complex analytical systems.  相似文献

Taguchi design of experiments methodology was used to determine the most influential spark plasma sintering (SPS) parameters on densification of TiB2–SiC ceramic composites. In this case, four processing factors (SPS temperature, soaking time, applied external pressure and SiC particle size) at three levels were examined in order to acquire the optimum conditions. The statistical analysis identified the sintering temperature as the most effective factor influencing the relative density of TiB2–SiC ceramics. A relative density of 99.5% was achieved at the optimal SPS conditions; i.e. temperature of 1800?°C, soaking time of 15?min and pressure of 30?MPa by adding 200-nm SiC particulates to the TiB2 matrix. The experimental measurements and predicted values for the relative density of composite fabricated at the optimum SPS conditions and reinforced with the proper SiC particle size were almost similar. The mechanisms of sintering and densification of spark plasma sintered TiB2–SiC composites were discussed in details.  相似文献

Nylon 6 nanofibers incorporated with molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were successfully fabricated by electrospinning with fiber diameters in the range 80–145 nm. Then, they were used as a new material for the extraction of selected bisphenol A (BPA) in water samples. Field emission scanning electron microscopy images revealed that the nanofibers had a smooth morphology with a good incorporation of MIPs. The Fourier transform infrared and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy results also confirmed the formation of the MIPs in the nanofibers. Furthermore, Raman spectroscopy showed that the crystalline structure of the pristine nylon 6 nanofiber was a kind of α form, and the incorporation of MIPs led to a γ-form structure in the nanofibers; this proved the interactions between nylon 6 and the MIPs. Adsorption studies also confirmed that the adsorption efficiency of BPA onto the molecularly imprinted polymer nanofibers (MIP-NFs; 83.5%) was much greater than that onto nonimprinted polymer nanofibers (NIP-NFs; 36.8%). Also, the imprinting factor was 3.4; this strongly implied the successful formation of molecularly imprinted cavities on the MIP-NFs with a strong affinity to BPA. Styrene monomer is a volatile organic compound that has many applications in plastics, rubber, and paint manufacturing industries. Exposure to styrene vapor has certain effects, including suppression of the central nervous system, loss of concentration, weakness and fatigue, and nausea and there is a possibility of carcinogenesis in long-term exposure. Therefore, it is necessary to control and eliminate this vapor. The aim of this study was to investigate the performance of zinc oxide nanoparticles on modified natural zeolites in removing styrene vapor from the air. Natural zeolites of clinoptilolite were modified using hydrochloric acid and diphenyldichlorosilane. Next, zinc oxide nanoparticles with different ratios of 3, 5, and 10 wt% were stabilized on the zeolites. To determine their characteristics, samples were used from BET, SEM and XRD analyses. The input styrene concentration and the ratio of nanoparticles stabilized on zeolites were studied as effective functional parameters on the removal process. The efficiency results of natural zeolites (Ze) and modified zeolites (Mze) in styrene adsorption from the air show that the styrene breakthrough in the bed of MZe compared to that of Ze increases approximately two times. Also, the results showed that the removal by the process of UV/MZe-ZnO 3%, UV/MZe-ZnO 5%, and UV/MZe-ZnO 10%, was 36.5%, 40%, and 26%, respectively. From the results it can be concluded that MZe can increase the efficiency of photocatalytic degradation. Clinoptilolites of Iran can be used as an adsorbent to remove polluted air in industries that have low concentrations and flow rates.  相似文献

Anticipatory shipping uses historical order and customer data to predict future orders and accordingly ship products to the nearest distribution centres before customers actually place the orders. It is a method to meet the increasing customer requirements on delivery service and simultaneously to reduce operational costs. This paper presents a case of anticipatory shipping in the context of agro-food supply chains. The challenge in these chains is the product perishability that leads to product obsolescence in the case of un-balanced supply and demand. This study introduces a data-driven approach that integrates product quality characteristics in data analytics to identify suitable products for anticipatory shipping at the strategic level. It also proposes process redesigns concerning production and transportation at the operational level to realise anticipatory shipping. Finally, using historical data from a Dutch floriculture supplier as input for a multi-agent simulation, the proposed approach and process redesigns are verified. The simulation output shows that anticipatory shipping could increase delivery service level up to 35.3% and reduce associated costs up to 9.3%.  相似文献
