Pressure data sampled at sufficiently high frequency (typically 20 Hz or higher) can yield much information about the hydrodynamic state of a fluidized bed. Since part of the pressure waves travelling through large (industrial) fluidized beds is only detectable in a limited area of the bed, pressure measurements need to be performed at several positions to cover the whole bed. We examine these local pressure waves (caused by, e.g., passing bubbles or coalescing bubbles) in a 0.80 m i.d. bubbling fluidized bed of Geldart B particles. Experiments and simulations are performed to determine the intensity decrease as local pressure waves propagate from their origin. A new spectral method is applied to determine the degree of coherence for pressure signals measured at two different positions in a fluidized bed. For a superficial gas velocity of 5umf, local pressure waves can be detected up to a radial distance of about 0.5 m from their origin; this distance is somewhat lower for lower gas velocities. This means that the radial spacing of pressure probes should not exceed 1 m. For large diameter beds with a bed height below 1.5 m, a set of probes at a single level and at several radial positions is sufficient to observe or monitor the dynamic state of the complete bed; the probes should preferably be placed at a height of 30% to 40% of the total bed height.  相似文献

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) can increase numbers of absolute CD4 cells in persons infected with the human immunodeficiency virus who are receiving antiretroviral therapy. Twenty-five subjects with > 400/mm3 absolute CD4 cells received zidovudine and low-dose intravenous or subcutaneous IL-2 (< or = 10(6) U/m2). Absolute CD4 cells increased significantly during IL-2 treatment, and 56% of the subjects achieved a maximal increase of > or = 500 cells/mm3. A dose-response relationship favored increasing IL-2 doses, and subcutaneous delivery offered greater increases than intravenous administration. Fifteen subjects had persistent increases of > or = 100 cells/mm3 6 weeks after IL-2 was discontinued. No changes occurred in delayed-type hypersensitivity or helper T cell responses to recall antigens. Cell-mediated cytotoxicities increased against Daudi cells. IL-2 was well tolerated and only 1 subject required dose reduction. Relatively low-dose IL-2 delivered by subcutaneous or intravenous routes may provide an important complement to antiretroviral therapy to increase absolute CD4 cells with the potential for less toxicity than with higher IL-2 doses.  相似文献

Strain steps are applied to elastomers in a pneumatic relaxometer and monitored by small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS). The relaxometer provides a rise time of 13 ms for strain pulses of step height Δε = ±1 in strain. The basic character of the 2D SAXS frames is examined and corresponding invariants Q(t) are analyzed. Three thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) of hardness 85 Shore A with different soft segments are studied both unannealed and annealed. The first response of all materials is a fast morphology conversion which finishes within tmc =250 ms. Because it has been untraceable, it is characterized by a settling stroke Q(tmc) ? Q(0). The second response is a slow morphology adjustment process which complies with logarithmic relaxation. It is characterized by a relaxation rate DQ = Q(10 t)/Q(t) ? 1. Comparison indicates that the nanoscopic morphology relaxation processes appear to have little direct relation to the macroscopic stress relaxation curves. The materials differ with respect to hard‐domain morphology stability and morphology recovery. Most unstable is the morphology of the annealed polyether‐based material. It forms nanofibrillary entities when strained.  相似文献

In order to enhance process understanding and to develop predictive process models in high shear granulation, there is an ongoing search for simulation tools and experimental methods to model and measure the velocity and shear fields in the mixer. In this study, the Eulerian-Eulerian approach to model multiphase flows has been used to simulate the mixer flow. Experimental velocity profiles for the solid phase at the wall in the mixer have been obtained using a high speed camera following the experimental procedure as described by Darelius et al. [2007a. Measurement of the velocity field and frictional properties of wet masses in a high shear mixer. Chemical Engineering Science, 62, 2366-2374]. The governing equations for modelling the dense mixer flow have been closed by using closure relations from the kinetic theory of granular flow (KTGF) combined with frictional stress models. The free slip and partial slip boundary conditions for the solid phase velocity at the vessel wall have been utilized. The partial slip model originally developed for dilute flows by Tu and Fletcher [1995. Numerical computation of turbulent gas-solid particle flow in a 90° bend. A.I.Ch.E. Journal, 41, 2187-2197] has been employed. It was found that the bed height could be well predicted by implementing the partial slip model, whereas the free slip model could not capture the experimentally found bed height satisfactorily. In the simulation, the swirling motion of the rotating torus formed was over-predicted and the tangential wall velocity was under-predicted, probably due to the fact that the frictional stress model needs to be further developed, e.g. to tackle cohesive particles in dense flow. The advantage of using the Eulerian-Eulerian approach compared to discrete element methods is that there is no computational limitation on the number of particles being modelled, and thus manufacturing scale granulators can be modelled as well.  相似文献

Hard turning has become an alternative machining process for grinding processes of hardened steels. One challenge during hard turning is the increasing wear during the operation time of the tool and the hereby influenced workpiece surface and subsurface properties. This causes unfavorable changes of the microstructure and residual stress state or rather damages of the subsurface. Important factors are the contact conditions between the tool and the workpiece. The width of flank wear land influences the size of the passive force significantly. This has a direct impact on the subsurface properties of the workpiece. One solution is to modify the contact conditions and thereby the specific mechanical and thermal loads that are applied to the tool as well as to the workpiece. This article presents an experimental approach of modified corner radius geometry of cutting tools for hard turning processes. Hereby, the size and direction of the contact length of the cutting edge are adjusted as well as the load impact during machining. The aim is to reduce the tool wear performance. The results show the potential of the load-specific tool design concerning the tool wear and the workpiece subsurface properties. Furthermore, a new approach for predicting the process forces during hard turning is presented.  相似文献

We report on the SSTR2-binding properties of a series of four dimeric [Tyr3]octreotate analogues with different spacer lengths (nine, 19, 41, and 57 atoms) between the peptides. Two analogues (9 and 57 atoms) were selected as precursors for the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of DOTA-conjugated dimeric [Tyr3]octreotate analogues for tumor targeting. These compounds were synthesized by using a two-stage click ligation procedure: a Cu(I) -catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition ("copper-click" reaction) and a thio acid/sulfonyl azide amidation ("sulfo-click" reaction). The IC(50) values of these DOTA-conjugated [Tyr3]octreotate analogues were comparable, and internalization studies showed that the nine-atom (111) In-DOTA-labeled [Tyr3]octreotate dimer had rapid and high receptor binding. Biodistribution studies with BALB/c nude mice bearing subcutaneous AR42J tumors showed that the (111) In-labeled [Tyr3]octreotate dimer (nine atoms) had a high tumor uptake at 1 h p.i. (38.8 ± 8.3 % ID g(-1) ), and excellent tumor retention at 4 h p.i. (40.9 ± 2.5 % ID g(-1) ). However, the introduction of the extended hydrophilic 57 atoms spacer led to rapid clearance from the circulation; this limited tumor accumulation of the radiotracer (21.4 ± 4.9 % ID g(-1) at 1 h p.i.). These findings provide important insight on dimerization and spacer effects on the in vivo properties of DOTA-conjugated [Tyr3]octreotate dimers.  相似文献

Guides in machine tools aim for high accuracy, stiffness and damping. However, these characteristics are mainly limited by the working principle. In this paper, the implementation of electromagnetic guides in linear machine tool axes is evaluated. A milling machine prototype, with the opportunity of using ball guides or electromagnetic guides in the z-axis, is employed. Primarily, working principle and properties of the electromagnetic guide are presented and analyzed. Operating behaviour, stiffness and damping of the two guiding principles are compared. The electromagnetic guide is finally assessed in the milling process and beneficial functions of the system are presented.  相似文献
