Surface Acoustic Waves on piezoelectric substrates can be used to investigate the dynamic conductivity of thin films in a non-contact and very sensitive way, especially at low conductivities. Here, we report on such surface acoustic wave studies to characterize thin manganite film like La0.67Ca0.33MnO3, exhibiting a Jan Teller effect with a strong electron phonon interaction and a metal insulator transition at high temperatures.

We report on the deposition of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 on piezoelectric substrates (LiNbO3 in different crystal cuts, employing a pulsed laser deposition technique. The structural quality of the thin films are examined by X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. For the electrical characterization, we employ the surface acoustic wave technique, accompanied by conventional direct current resistance measurements for comparison.  相似文献

Summary We operationalize scientific output in a region by means of the number of articles (as in the SciSearch database) per year and technology output by means of the number of patent applications (as in the database of the European Patent Office) per priority year. All informetric analyses were done using the DIALOG online-system. The main research questions are the following: Which scientific and technological fields or topics are most influent within a region and which institutions or companies are mainly publishing articles or holding patents? Do the distributions of regional science and technology fields and of publishing institutions follow the well-known informetric function? Are there - as it is expected - only few fields and few institutions which dominate the region? Is there a connection between the economic power of a region and the regional publication and patent output? Examples studied in detail are seven German regions: Aachen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Köln (Cologne), Leipzig - Halle - Dessau, München (Munich), and Stuttgart. Three different indicators were used, science and technology attraction of a region (number of scientific articles and patents), science and technology intensity (articles and patents per 1,000 inhabitants), and science and technology density (articles and patents per 1 billion EURO gross value added). Top region concerning both attraction and intensity is Munich, concerning density it is Aachen.  相似文献

 In deep X-ray lithography synchrotron radiation is applied to pattern several hundred micrometer thick resist layers. This technique has been used to obtain micro structures with an aspect ratio up to 100 and dimensions in the micrometer range. The structures are characterised by straight walls and a typical sidewall roughness of approximately 50 nm. To be able to fabricate n-coherent structures with any lateral shape and to have the possibility to use these resist microstructures in an additional electroforming process the resist is usually mounted on a ceramic or metallic substrate. Due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of the resist material and the substrate a developing temperature of 37 °C produces cracks in the resist structures depending on the microstructure design. These defects are not observed if the developing temperature is reduced to 20 °C. Better structure quality is obtained using the GG-developer instead of MIBK/IPA, but the developing rate is decreased. Measurements of the developing rate of PMMA in GG-developer at different temperatures show that the contrast of the developer-resist system is increased at 20 °C compared to 37 °C. In this paper an image data compression scheme based on Periodic Haar Piecewise-Linear (PHL) transform and quantization tables is proposed. This review article provides an overview of various novel nanowire array solar cells and highlights the aspects of electromagnetic simulations that are a valuable tool for understanding the optical processes leading to their distinct properties. As the computational methods commonly used for the task are well established, we focus on the question how numerical modeling can be used to assess the performance of a design and reveal the working principle of the devices. We conclude that scientific literature identifies numerical simulations as paramount for design and interpretation of experimental data.  相似文献
