This paper describes the preparation of synthetic polyurea greases and evaluates their performance. The polyurea greases were prepared in situ by reacting diisocyanate with monoamines and ethylene diamine in the presence of a synthetic base oil (polyalphaolefin). Two different extreme‐pressure (EP) additives blended with the prepared polyurea greases were evaluated for their EP activity in four‐ball and Timken tests. The additivated greases gave higher loads, and higher values of weld load in the four‐ball test as compared to the polyurea grease without additive. The blended greases were also found to pass rust, corrosion, oxidative stability, and shear stability tests. The topography of the wear‐scar surfaces was investigated using scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

In 2D resistive sensor arrays, the interconnections are reduced considerably by sharing rows and columns among various sensor elements in such a way that one end of each sensor is connected to a row node and other end connected to a column node. This scheme results in total N?+?M interconnections for N?×?M array of sensors. Thus, it simplifies the interconnect complexity but suffers from the crosstalk problem among its elements. We experimentally demonstrate that this problem can be overcome by putting all the row nodes at virtually equal potential using virtual ground of high gain operational amplifiers in negative feedback. Although it requires large number of opamps, it solves the crosstalk problem to a large extent. Additionally, we get the response of all the sensors lying in a column simultaneously, resulting in a faster scanning capability. By performing lock-in-amplifier based measurements on a light dependent resistor at a randomly selected location in a 4?×?4 array of otherwise fixed valued resistors, we have shown that the technique can provide 86?dB crosstalk suppression even with a simple opamp. Finally, we demonstrate the circuit implementation of this technique for a 16?×?16 imaging array of light dependent resistors.  相似文献

Remote sensing is a new emerging field of technological development and has made a very significant impact on the geological surveys and studies. The work done so far in geological remote sensing has indicated the scope, utility and limitations of these modern techniques in different geological problems. The utility of airborne surveys and aerial photography has now been well established whereas satellite remote sensing at present has two main constraints—resolution and lack of stereoscopy. With the developments in sensor technology to provide sensors with improved resolution, more spectral bands and stereoscopy, substantial new results are anticipated in the geological remote sensing from space. Brief overview of applications of remote sensing techniques to geology is discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Dry thermal SiO2 is grown in the presence of 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCA). TCA is used as a chlorine source for gate oxides in MOS devices. These oxides were grown with a particular molar concentration of TCA. D.C. leakage currents were measured over the entire wafer. Results were compared with trichloroethylene (TCE) oxides, grown under identical conditions, to assess the feasibility of substituting a TCA source for TCE. It was found that TCA oxides maintain constant leakage current over a large area of wafer in comparison to TCE oxides, particularly for n-type silicon.  相似文献

Gastrointestinal toxicity (GIT) is a debilitating side effect of Irinotecan (CPT-11) and limits its clinical utility. Gut dysbiosis has been shown to mediate this side effect of CPT-11 by increasing gut bacterial β-glucuronidase (GUSB) activity and impairing the intestinal mucosal barrier (IMB). We have recently shown the opposing effects of omega-6 (n-6) and omega-3 (n-3) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on the gut microbiome. We hypothesized that elevated levels of tissue n-3 PUFA with a decreased n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio would reduce CPT-11-induced GIT and associated changes in the gut microbiome. Using a unique transgenic mouse (FAT-1) model combined with dietary supplementation experiments, we demonstrate that an elevated tissue n-3 PUFA status with a decreased n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio significantly reduces CPT-11-induced weight loss, bloody diarrhea, gut pathological changes, and mortality. Gut microbiome analysis by 16S rRNA gene sequencing and QIIME2 revealed that improvements in GIT were associated with the reduction in the CPT-11-induced increase in both GUSB-producing bacteria (e.g., Enterobacteriaceae) and GUSB enzyme activity, decrease in IMB-maintaining bacteria (e.g., Bifidobacterium), IMB dysfunction and systemic endotoxemia. These results uncover a host–microbiome interaction approach to the management of drug-induced gut toxicity. The prevention of CPT-11-induced gut microbiome changes by decreasing the tissue n-6/n-3 PUFA ratio could be a novel strategy to prevent chemotherapy-induced GIT.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To compare keratocyte density determined by using confocal microscopy with keratocyte density determined in the same corneas by histology. METHODS: Digital en face images of central corneas were recorded three times by using confocal microscopy in vivo in six New Zealand White rabbits. Bright objects (keratocyte nuclei) in the images were automatically identified by using a custom algorithm to estimate total and regional stromal keratocyte densities. The corneas were then excised, fixed, and sectioned in a sagittal plane for histology. Keratocyte nuclei were manually counted from digitized images of 50 histologic sections per cornea. Total and regional keratocyte densities were estimated from the histologic sections by using stereologic methods based on nuclei per unit area, mean nuclear diameter, and section thickness. Histologic cell densities were corrected for tissue shrinkage. RESULTS: By confocal microscopy, total keratocyte density was 39,000 +/- 1,200 cells/mm3 (mean +/- SE; n = 6); cell density was 47,100 +/- 1,300 cells/mm3 in the anterior stroma and decreased to 27,900 +/- 2,700 cells/mm3 in the posterior stroma (P = 0.004). Analysis of the three separate confocal images of each cornea produced repeatable total cell densities (mean coefficient of variation = 0.035). By histology, total keratocyte density was 37,800 +/- 1,100 cells/mm3, not significantly different from that estimated by confocal microscopy (P = 0.43); anterior cell density was 48,300 +/- 900 cells/mm3 and decreased to 29,400 +/- 900 cells/mm3 posteriorly (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Rabbit keratocyte density estimated by automated analysis of confocal microscopy images in vivo is repeatable and agrees with keratocyte density estimated from histologic sections.  相似文献
