In this paper, we introduce a new technique for the design of high-performance Rayleigh fading channel simulators. The proposed design method uses set partitioning – a technique, which plays a key role in the design of trellis-coded modulation schemes. We show how set partitioning can be used to design multiple uncorrelated fading waveforms enabling the simulation of Rayleigh fading channels. For the important case of isotropic scattering, we show that the sample average of the generated waveforms results in a deterministic process, the autocorrelation function (ACF) of which tends to the zeroth-order Bessel function of the first kind as the number of sample functions increases. The proposed procedure is completely deterministic. The comparison with a stochastic procedure using Monte Carlo techniques will be made. A study of the performance shows clearly that the new technique using set partitioning outperforms by far existing Monte Carlo methods.  相似文献

A total of 405 lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from spoiled, vacuum-packaged, salted, sodium nitrite- or potassium nitrate-treated, cold-smoked rainbow trout stored at 4 degrees C or 8 degrees C were characterised and identified using a molecular method. The isolates were initially classified according to their restriction endonuclease profiles using HindIII and EcoRI restriction endonucleases and further characterised by rRNA gene restriction patterns (ribotypes). Numerical analysis of these ribopatterns was performed together with 19 reference LAB strain patterns in order to identify the isolates to species level. The strains were divided with HindIII and EcoRI ribopatterns into ten and nine clusters at the similarity level of 65% and 50%, respectively. The Leuconostoc-clusters and the Lb. sakei/Lb. curvatus-clusters formed the two main groups. Only one isolate was identified as Lactobacillus plantarum and no Carnobacterium strains were discovered. For both enzymes, the 35 isolates possessing six individual ribotypes and forming five clusters could not be identified further with the reference strains used. The relative proportion of Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. mesenteroides was higher in all samples stored at 4 degrees C. Most of the Leuconostoc citreum were found in the samples stored at 8 degrees C, and particularly in the nitrite-treated samples.  相似文献

UNICORE is a European Grid Technology with more than 10 years of history. Originating from the Supercomputing domain, the latest version UNICORE 6 has turned into a general-purpose Grid technology that follows established standards and offers a rich set of features to its users. The paper starts with an architectural insight into UNICORE 6, highlighting the workflow features, standards and the different clients. Very high lateral ionic conductivities in epitaxial cubic yttria‐stabilized zirconia (YSZ) synthesized on single‐crystal SrTiO3 and MgO substrates by reactive direct current magnetron sputtering are reported. Superionic conductivities (i.e., ionic conductivities of the order ~1 Ω?1cm?1) are observed at 500 °C for 58‐nm‐thick films on MgO. The results indicate a superposition of two parallel contributions – one due to bulk conductivity and one attributable to conduction along the film–substrate interface. Interfacial effects dominate the conductivity at low temperatures (<350 °C), showing more than three orders of magnitude enhancement compared to bulk YSZ. At higher temperatures, a more bulk‐like conductivity is observed. The films have a negligible grain‐boundary network, thus ruling out grain boundaries as a pathway for ionic conduction. The observed enhancement in lateral ionic conductivity is caused by a combination of misfit dislocation density and elastic strain in the interface. These very high ionic conductivities in the temperature range 150–500 °C are of great fundamental importance but may also be technologically relevant for low‐temperature applications.  相似文献

We consider the problem of joint congestion control and resource allocation in spatial-TDMA wireless networks. The design problem is posed as a utility maximization problem subject to link rate constraints which involve both transmission scheduling and power allocation. Starting from the performance limitations of a centralized optimization based on global network information, we proceed systematically in our development of two distributed and transparent protocols that rely on local information only. In the process, we introduce a novel decomposition method for convex optimization, establish its convergence for the utility maximization problem, and demonstrate how it suggests a distributed solution based on TCP/AQM and incremental updates of the transmission schedule. We develop a two-step procedure for finding the schedule updates and suggest two schemes for distributed link scheduling and power control under realistic interference models. Although the final protocols are suboptimal, we isolate and quantify the performance losses incurred by each simplification and demonstrate strong performance in examples.

In this paper, we propose high-rate space–time coding for cooperative wireless networks to reduce the overall delay incurred in relaying signals to multiple receivers. The relay structure is optimized in order to achieve maximum SNR at the receiver nodes. The proposed scheme provides a significant reduction in the delay required for the relaying and transmission of the signals to the multiple receivers with a minute loss in performance. We have also shown by simulation that this loss in the performance could be recovered by selecting more number of relays. We propose two relaying strategies for high-rate space–time codes, which are very useful in providing high data-rate in wireless cooperative networks.  相似文献

This paper considers the hash function MD2 which was developed by Ron Rivest in 1989. Despite its age, MD2 has withstood cryptanalytic attacks until recently. This paper contains the state-of-the-art cryptanalytic results on MD2, in particular collision and preimage attacks on the full hash function, the latter having complexity 273, which should be compared to a brute-force attack of complexity 2128.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to assess whether the artifacts presented by precordial compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation could be removed from the human electrocardiogram (ECG) using a filtering approach. This would allow analysis and defibrillator charging during ongoing precordial compressions yielding a very important clinical improvement to the treatment of cardiac arrest patients. In this investigation we started with noise-free human ECGs with ventricular fibrillation (VF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) records. To simulate a realistic resuscitation situation, we added a weighted artifact signal to the human ECG, where the weight factor was chosen to provide the desired signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) level. As artifact signals we used ECGs recorded from animals in asystole during precordial compressions at rates 60, 90, and 120 compressions/min. The compression depth and the thorax impedance was also recorded. In a real-life situation such reference signals are available and, using an adaptive multichannel Wiener filter, we construct an estimate of the artifact signal, which subsequently can be subtracted from the noisy human ECG signal. The success of the proposed method is demonstrated through graphic examples, SNR, and rhythm classification evaluations.  相似文献

We consider a network design problem arising in mobile communications. At the core of the network is a number of mobile switching centers (MSCs), each serving a number of base station controllers (BSCs). The network design problem involves three major groups of decisions – deployment of a number of new MSCs, allocation of BSCs to new and existing MSCs, and capacity expansion of transmission links interconnecting the MSCs. These decisions must be made so as to minimize the incurred costs while meeting customer demand and observing the capacity restrictions. We formulate the problem as a two-stage stochastic program with mixed-integer recourse. To solve the problem we apply a dual decomposition procedure, solving scenario subproblems by means of branch and cut. The solution procedure has been tested on a real life problem instance provided by SONOFON, a Danish mobile communication network operator, and we report results of our computational experiments.  相似文献

We describe an efficient software framework for rapid behavioral modeling and simulation of mixed-signalSystem-on-a-Chip (SoC). The framework is based on the SystemC C++ class libraries and has beenproven to be a very effective tool for exploring different system-level architectures in the early stages of thedesign process. We also present the results of three case studies where we have used the framework: a 10-bit, 60Mega-sample/s pipelined ADC, 14-bit, 100 Mega-sample/s pipelined ADC with background calibration, and aCMOS camera-on-a-chip.  相似文献
