Aluminum was electrodeposited from two different ionic liquid electrolytes namely; 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolicum chloride and AlCl3 (EMIC–AlCl3) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BMIC–AlCl3) at 90 ± 2 °C. Nodular morphology of aluminum was obtained at the copper substrate. To evaluate the reaction mechanism, chronoamperometric study was adopted. From the chronoamperometric analysis, it was observed that the reaction was controlled by instantaneous three-dimensional diffusion process. The diffusion coefficient (D) of Al2C7− was found to be 5.2–6.6 × 10−11 m2 s−1 and 2.2 × 10−11 m2 s−1 for EMIC–AlCl3 and BMIC–AlCl3 ionic liquid electrolytes, respectively. The nuclei density of electrodeposited aluminum on the copper was also confirmed by scanning electron microscope wherein uniformly distributed aluminum nodules were observed. 相似文献

Microsegregation of alloying elements is prone to hot cracking in the weldment of alloy C-276. The formation of topologically close packed phases P and µ is largely responsible for the hot cracking. The present study articulates the effect of laser shock peening (LSP) to improve the metallurgical and mechanical properties of the weld joint. The weld joint was fabricated by pulsed current gas tungsten arc welding (PCGTAW) using an ERNiCrMo-3 filler wire. LSP without coating was carried out on the cap surface of the weldment. Microstructural studies were carried out to compare the as-welded and laser-peened microstructure on the fusion zone. The results show that a fine equiaxed dendritic structure was observed in both conditions. EDS analysis was carried out to evaluate the microsegregation of alloying elements. EDS analysis indicates that there are no secondary intermetallic phases. X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to evaluate the phase change and crystallite size in the as-welded and laser shock peened fusion zone. The result shows 48.99% reduction in crystallite size after LSP. Hardness and tensile strength results indicate there is a consequential increase in laser shock peened specimen compared with as-welded specimen. 相似文献

5-Aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) is an aminosalicylate anti-inflammatory drug, which is also known as mesalazine or mesalamine. Currently employed in treating inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, inflamed anus or rectum, and maintain remission in Crohn's disease. Evidence from the researchers highlighted its significant re-epithelization in allergic asthma, aphthous, and gastric ulcerative conditions. The objective of the study was to formulate the pluronic lecithin organogel (PLO) containing 5-ASA and evaluate its wound-healing ability in a full thickness excision wound rat model. The data obtained from in silico docking studies revealed 5-ASA is having an affinity towards the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) specifically towards beta1. Among various formulations prepared (F1 to F8), F1, and F6 have shown a maximum in vitro drug release with optimum pH and viscosity. From MTT assay it was found that selected PLO formulations showed no toxicity and enhanced cell proliferation in HaCaT cell lines. In vivo wound-healing studies in albino Wistar rats has revealed that PLO accelerates wound closure and reepithelization to the statistically significant level on day 3 (p?.05) in comparison with untreated wounds. In conclusion, the overall results suggest that 5-ASA PLO gel is a potential therapeutic option for the treatments of wounds, however, further studies are highly warrened to determine the various mechanisms of 5-ASA in regulating the cell migration and reepithelization in wound healing to outspread its use in clinics. 相似文献

Fine bamboo strips (BSs) have been laid on polypropylene (PP) web, stacked, and compression molded to prepare unconsolidated light-weight (0.312 g/cm3) composites. Composite properties are superior compared with jute-based composites and bamboo strips show potential to replace fiberglass or polyurethane in composites. Flexural strength, modulus, offset yield load, and Noise Reduction Coefficient (NR) of the BS–PP composites are 5.8×, 2.9×, 6.5×, and 1.4× higher, respectively, compared to jute–PP composites. Bamboo-based non-consolidated composites with excellent mechanical and sound absorption properties utilizing the methods described in this research provide an opportunity to manufacture functional composites with bio-based materials leading to reduction of environmental pollution and sustainable manufacturing. 相似文献

The paper describes the methodology of modeling and simulation of bird impact mechanism of GLARE laminate structures. The bird is modeled using Lagrangian concept. Explicit finite element techniques have been developed to simulate the impact mechanics. The study involves deeper understanding of impact dynamics and contact mechanics. The bird impact analysis has been carried out on typical configuration of GLARE 3/2, 4/3, 5/4, 6/5, 7/6 and 8/7. The results of stress propagation and material deformation at high strain rate have been obtained. Results from the numerical analysis are compared with experimental results, and the material is found to be capable of absorbing the impact energy. The results also show that the bird material model chosen to simulate for carrying out impact mechanics analysis is found to be capable of capturing most of the complex behavior exhibited by functional structural material GLARE. 相似文献

The structure–transport properties of mixed soft‐segmented poly(urethane‐imide) (MSPUI) membranes and their microstructures were investigated. Polypropylene glycol, polycaprolactone diol and bis(3‐aminopropyl)‐terminated polydimethylsiloxane were used as the soft segments in the membrane synthesis via a three‐step polymerization reaction. The chemical structures of the MSPUI membranes were characterized using attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Morphology and surface properties of the membranes were studied using scanning electron and atomic force microscopy techniques. Surface energy measurements indicated the enrichment of the hydrophobic soft segment in the membranes. The amorphous nature of the polymers was analysed using wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. The effect of morphology on the permeability and selectivity of the membranes is discussed. We have synthesized and characterized donor–π–spacer–acceptor type molecules in which 1,3,4-oxadiazoles are π-spacers, triphenylamines are the donors and cyanoacetic acid are the acceptors for use as sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Detailed absorption, emission, electrochemical, photoelectrochemical and computational studies have been carried out on five novel derivatives. The dyes have an absorption range of 377–388 nm, and an emission in the range of 494–540 nm. There is a large charge transfer from the donor side to the acceptor side on excitation. The propeller shape of the triphenylamine and the bulky substituents on it help in reducing the dye-aggregation on TiO2 surface. The dyes exhibited good overall conversion efficiency (2.79–3.21%). Plane wave calculations indicate that the dye has a reasonably strong binding to the TiO2 surface and the generated DOS picture shows an overlap of the molecular orbitals of the dye and the TiO2 bands. We conclude that the dyes have a promising role as sensitizers in DSSC. 相似文献

A simple and facile method was established of incorporating polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) on to polyurethane (PU) to improve hydrophobicity of PU by incorporating low levels of fluorine at a molecular level. Nanocomposites were made by preparing PU in the presence of PTFE using seeded miniemulsion polymerization method. The resulting PTFE/PU nanocomposites were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, differential scanning calorimetric, and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). FTIR and TEM indicated changes observed in their structure, size and morphology. The water contact angle of PTFE/PU nanocomposite films increased with increasing amount of PTFE and more on blending with silica nanoparticles but a slight decrease in thermal stabilities of SiO2/PTFE/PU nanocomposites were noticed.
