Although workaholism has been hypothesized to have an effect on interpersonal relationships, few studies have obtained data from other individuals in a focal person's network. The present exploratory study examined level of agreement in both workaholism components proposed by Spence and Robbins (see record 1992-18384-001; work involvement, feeling driven to work, work enjoyment) and hours worked per week between 62 women and men in professional and managerial jobs and a self-nominated coworker. Data were collected using anonymously completed questionnaires. There was considerable agreement between the two individuals on levels of the three workaholism components and hours worked per week. In this letter, we propose an alternative approach for UWB direction finding using hybrid digital-analog technique. The proposed system uses an array of leading-edge pulse detection scheme in analog domain. The detection scheme is realized using tunnel diode with envelope detector and comparator latch, whose output is digital binary signal. The outputs or all array branches are then summed up to form a staircase-shaped waveform, whereby the slope of the waveform indicates the direction of impinging UWB signal. In order to detect the slope and produce the estimation of the direction, an analog differentiator joint with a peak detector is utilized. The proposed system is relatively simple and does not require high sampling rate or high speed DAC.  相似文献

Experimental characteristics of monolithic InAlAs/InGaAs HEMT mixers are presented together with a theoretical analysis. Experiments at W-band show a maximum conversion gain of 0.9 dB with 2 dBm of LO power level. This is the first demonstration of a monolithic HEMT mixer with conversion gain at W-band. The conversion gain dependence on LO power, RF frequency and gate bias is measured and compared with the theoretical predictions. Splanchnic and systemic hemodynamics and plasma levels of aldosterone, glucagon and plasma renin were investigated in 12 patients with advanced cirrhosis before and 2 wk (14.6 +/- 2.8 days) and 2 mo (60.8 +/- 10.5 days) after orthotopic liver transplantation. Liver transplant was followed by significant (p < 0.01) changes in systemic hemodynamics at 2 wk, with a marked reduction in cardiac index (4.9 +/- 0.8 vs. 3.7 +/- 0.7 L/min.m2) and increases in mean arterial pressure (79 +/- 8 vs. 101 +/- 11 mm Hg) and peripheral vascular resistance (721 +/- 149 vs. 1,274 +/- 253 dyn.sec.cm-5). Two months after liver transplant, we saw further significant increases in peripheral vascular resistance (1,700 +/- 341 dyn.sec.cm-5; p < 0.05) without changes in cardiac index. Hepatic venous pressure gradient, very high before transplantation, was normal 2 wk after liver transplant (18.7 +/- 3.0 vs. 2.1 +/- 0.8 mm Hg; p < 0.01). Hepatic blood flow rose markedly from 1.03 +/- 0.46 to 2.25 +/- 0.79 L/min (p < 0.01) and was still elevated at 2 mo (1.84 +/- 0.74 L/min). Azygos blood flow had not changed after 2 wk with respect to pretransplant values (0.65 +/- 0.26 vs. 0.69 +/- 0.39 L/min) but had decreased significantly at 2 mo (0.39 +/- 0.16 L/min; p < 0.05). The elevated aldosterone, plasma renin and glucagon levels found in our cirrhotic patients before transplantation decreased to near-normal values 2 wk after the procedure. These results suggest that most of the hemodynamic and humoral abnormalities characteristic of advanced cirrhosis are reversed after liver transplant.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

A novel technique of N2O treatment on NH3-nitrided oxide is used to prepare thin gate oxide. Experiments on MOS capacitors and nMOSFET's with this kind of gate dielectric show that N2O treatment is superior to conventional reoxidation step in suppressing both electron and hole trappings and interface trap creation under high-field stress. Interface hardness against hot-carrier bombardment and neutral electron trap generation are also improved. Thus, N2O treatment on NH3 -nitrided oxide shows excellent electrical and reliability properties, while maintaining sufficiently high nitrogen concentration in gate oxide which offers good resistance to dopant penetration  相似文献

The design and fabrication of a 1.3-μm waveguide-coupled strained-layer InxGa1-xAs/GaAs MSM detector with an optimized active layer thickness is reported. For 100-μm-long devices, a responsivity of 0.58 mA/mW is observed. Using the detector as an optoelectronic switch, on/off ratios better than 40 dB were achieved at L and X band  相似文献

Abstract:   Structural deterioration of pipes is the continuing reduction of load bearing capacity, which can be characterized through structural defects. Structural deterioration has been a major concern for asset managers in maintaining the required performance of stormwater drainage systems in Australia. Condition assessment using closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection is often carried out to assess the deteriorating condition of individual pipes. In this study, two models were developed using ordered probit and neural networks (NNs) techniques for predicting the structural condition of individual pipes. The predictive performances were compared using CCTV data collected for a local government authority in Melbourne, Australia. The significant input factors to the outputs of both models were also identified. The results showed that the NN model was more suitable for modeling structural deterioration than the ordered probit model. The hydraulic condition, pipe size, and pipe location were found to be significant factors for this case study.  相似文献
