Infrared multiple photon dissociation (IRMPD) was used to generate vibrational spectra of ions produced with a direct analysis in real time (DART) ionization source coupled to a 4.7 T Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrometer. The location of protonation on the nerve agent simulants diisopropyl methylphosphonate (DIMP) and dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) was studied while solutions of the compounds were introduced for extended periods of time with a syringe pump. Theoretical vibrational spectra were generated with density functional theory calculations. Visual comparison of experimental mid-IR IRMPD spectra and theoretical spectra could not establish definitively if a single structure or a mixture of conformations was present for the protonated parent of each compound. However, theoretical calculations, near-ir IRMPD spectra, and frequency-to-frequency and statistical comparisons indicated that the protonation site for both DIMP and DMMP was predominantly, if not exclusively, the phosphonyl oxygen instead of one of the oxygen atoms with only single bonds.  相似文献

RFID is a relatively heterogenous radio technology, where it is necessary to put an extra effort on security and privacy-related issues. As early as 2004, some authors suggested the use of a PRNG for increasing security. This was later questioned because many thought a PRNG implementation may go well beyond the very limited computational capabilities of low-cost RFID tags. However, its use has been ratified by EPCGlobal (EPC Class-1 Generation-2) and ISO (ISO/IEC 18000-6C). This motivates our proposal of a new PRNG, named LAMED, which is compliant with the standards and successfully passes several batteries of very demanding randomness tests (ENT, DIEHARD, NIST, and SEXTON). A study of its hardware complexity shows that LAMED can be implemented with slightly less than 1.6 K gates, and that pseudo-random numbers can be generated each 1.8 ms. So we can affirm this is a realist proposal both conforming with the EPC-G1C2 standard, and suitable for low-cost RFID tags.  相似文献

The hyperphosphorylation of microtubule‐associated protein tau (tau) in the hippocampus can be caused by central and peripheral insulin resistance and these alterations are related to the development of tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease. In this study, we used a high‐fat diet to induce obesity and insulin resistance in adult Swiss mice and checked whether supplementation with Myrciaria jaboticaba berry peel for 10 weeks could improve insulin sensitivity, learning/memory performance, and prevent tau phosphorylation in the hippocampus. Furthermore, adipocytokines, inflammatory markers, and oxidative stress were assessed. Myrciaria jaboticaba peel has phenolic compounds (e.g., cyanidin, ellagic acid), dietary fiber and carotenoids, which contribute to great antioxidant capacity. Supplementation of the high‐fat diet with 4% M. jaboticaba peel prevented fat weight gain and reduced peripheral insulin resistance. The treated group also showed lower tau phosphorylation in the hippocampus corroborating better learning/memory performance in the Morris water maze test. Maintenance of neuronal viability, lower levels of hippocampal inflammatory markers, and improved brain antioxidant defenses were also related to the consumption of M. jaboticaba peel. These findings contribute to a better understanding of how a high‐fat diet supplemented with jaboticaba berry peel counteracts the impairment of cognitive functions caused by high‐fat diet intake and diet‐induced insulin resistance.  相似文献

A strong antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli of Cu‐BTC metal‐organic frameworks immobilized over cellulosic fibers is hereby reported. The in situ synthesis of Cu‐BTC metal‐organic frameworks, aka MOF‐199 or HKUST‐1, onto cellulosic substrates was carried out by exposing carboxymethylated cellulosic substrates to Cu(OAC)2, 1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylic acid and triethylamine solutions following a very specific order. Using an in vitro model, in accordance to ASTM E2149‐13a, we observed that the cellulose‐MOF system was able to completely eliminate the growth of E. coli on agar plates and liquid cultures. The antibacterial activity of the comprising components of MOF‐199 and the cellulosic substrate was also evaluated and determined to be negligible. Since the method used to synthesize MOF‐199 crystals provides a strong bond between the crystals and the cellulosic substrates, the crystals not detach from the anionic cellulosic fibers allowing the modified textile to be washed and reused hence opening a new avenue to fabricate antibacterial clinical fabrics. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Several studies have suggested an increased prevalence of osteopenia in dialysis. Peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) is a new technique that allows the noninvasive evaluation of trabecular and cortical bone separately. The aim of the study was: (1) to evaluate cortical bone by pQCT in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients and compare the data with that obtained in healthy controls; and (2) to correlate cortical bone parameters with bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine and femoral neck and total bone mineral content (TBMC). Cortical bone parameters were obtained in 22 CAPD patients and 27 healthy individuals at the distal radius using a Stratec XCT 960 pQCT machine. In the dialysis patients, we also determined BMD and TBMC by bone densitometry. Dialysis patients, compared with controls, showed a significant reduction in volumetric cortical BMD (VcBMD) (p = 0.04) and cortical thickness (cThk) (p < 0.0001) with a significant increase in radial total cross-sectional area (TA) (p = 0.006), endosteal circumference (p < 0.0001), and buckling ratio (p < 0.0001). In CAPD patients, total time on dialysis correlated negatively with radial total BMD (p < 0.01) and VcBMD (p < 0.01). Age correlated positively with TA (p < 0.01), endosteal (p < 0.01), and periosteal circumferences (p < 0.01). Serum intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels correlated positively with endosteal (p = 0.04) and periosteal perimeter (p = 0.01). Total alkaline phosphatase correlated negatively with VcBMD (p < 0.01), and positively with endosteal perimeter (p = 0.02). Total bone mineral content correlated significantly with radial cortical content (p < 0.001), cross-sectional cortical area (cA; p < 0.001), and cThk (p < 0.01) but not with total radial BMD, VcBMD, or buckling ratio. No correlations were found between radial cortical parameters and BMD measured at the lumbar spine or femoral neck. We conclude that dialysis patients show cortical osteopenia with marked cortical thinning partially mediated by PTH action on bone. Total bone mineral content correlated with various radial cortical parameters (content, area, and thickness) but not with others. No correlations were found between cortical bone parameters measured at the peripheral skeleton with areal bone density measured at the axial skeleton. These findings suggest that pQCT may be a new tool in the assessment of bone fragility in dialysis patients.  相似文献

This work focused on the synthesis and characterization of nonylphenol formaldehyde resins (NPFR) as examples of active molecules for preventing asphaltene precipitation in vacuum residue (VR) and hydroprocessed petroleum samples. The evaluation for the NPFR as asphaltene dispersants was carried out using the on-column filtration technique at room temperature and near process conditions (195°C). The results indicated that NPFR (molecular weight = 900–4800 Da) are active for the reduction of asphaltene content of gravimetrically separated asphaltene solutions and for VR and hydroprocessed samples at room temperature (35°C) and at 195°C. It was found that the activity of NPFR as asphaltene dispersants depends not only on the type of sample (asphaltenes, virgin or processed) but also on the temperature, molecular weight, and concentration.  相似文献

The feasibility of survival analysis methodology was used to determine the shelf-life of probiotic strawberry flavored yogurt supplemented with Bifidobacteirum animalis DN 173010 W was investigated. The quality parameters of probiotic yogurts were related to storage conditions which they are submitted. The consumers were shown sensitive to changes towards sensory characteristics introduced into the products. Using the survival analysis and considering 25% and 50% probability of consumer rejection, the shelf-life of the probiotic yogurt was estimated at 38 and 53 days, respectively. The findings of this research highlighted the feasibility this technique to determine the shelf-life of foods, in particular, functional foods, as probiotic yogurts.  相似文献

The growth of Staphylococcus aureus inoculated onto poultry meat was investigated under different incubation periods and temperature patterns. Transfer of this microorganism to surface materials and their disinfection was also evaluated. The evaluation of transfer was carried out by placing the contaminated meat cubes on stainless steel and polyethylene surfaces for 10 s and 10 min each, and the surfaces were disinfected with 0.5% chlorhexidine digluconate (CHXdG) for 1 and 10 min each. After 24 h, there was a significant increase of the bacteria count at 20 °C, but not at temperatures between 7 and 15 °C. Significant counts of S. aureus were transferred after a few seconds of contact of the cubes with both materials, and significant differences of transferred cell counts were not detected among the surface materials or durations of contact. The CHXdG solution was able to inactivate all the transferred cells after 10 min of exposure; however, the same result was not observed with 1-min exposure. The time of contact and the type of surface material did not influence the quantity of the transferred cells. The 0.5% CHXdG solution was effective for the disinfection of the contaminated surfaces without previous cleaning.  相似文献

Bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) have been at the core of linear electronics from its beginnings. Here, we suggest an Early‐based inspired geometric model of BJT devices and its application to derive models of related electronic circuits (more specifically a common‐emitter configuration). The approach involves using a beam of isolines converging at the Early voltage as the model of a BJT. The angles of the isolines are experimentally verified often to vary almost linearly with the base current. A numerical methodology is suggested for the Early voltage estimation and applied to 12 real‐world small signal NPN BJTs. Interesting results are obtained, including the identification of diverse Early voltage values for different BJT types and estimation of transfer functions.  相似文献

Recycled PET/organoclay nanocomposites were prepared by melt intercalation process with several amounts (1, 3, and 5 wt %) of clay modified with quaternary ammonium salt (DELLITE 67G) dispersed in a recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (rPET) matrix. The resultant mechanical properties (modulus and yield strength) of the nanocomposites were found to be different from those of rPET. Wide angle X‐ray scattering (WAXS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) measurements have shown that although complete exfoliation was not achieved, delaminated clay platelets could be observed. Thermal analysis did not show significant changes in the thermal properties from those of recycled PET. Mechanical testing showed that nanocomposite properties were superior to the recycled PET in terms of strength and elasticity modulus. This improvement was attributed to nanoscale effects and strong interaction between the rPET matrix and the clay interface, as revealed by WAXS and TEM. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
