Inhibition of microbial growth in ready‐to‐eat food stored at ambient temperature by modified atmosphere packaging

This study was undertaken to develop a modified atmosphere package to control microbial growth in ready‐to‐eat (RTE) products stored at ambient temperature. Ethanol and/or limonene associated with modified atmosphere (CO₂ : O₂ : N₂ = 30% : 5% : 65%) was used to inhibit the growth of total air‐borne microorganisms and Escherichia coli in RTE products stored at 25°C. The results indicated that 0.05% ethanol vapour in the headspace was effective to inhibit the growth of air‐borne microorganisms and E. coli at 25°C for 72 h in a model study, and the effectiveness was related to ethanol content. Both 73 ppm limonene and 0.05% ethanol vapour enhanced the bacteriostatic effect of modified atmosphere in RTE sushi roll products, and no off‐flavour was detected using this formulated gas; however, no significant inhibitory effect was observed for RTE cold noodle products. This study concludes that combinations of carbon dioxide, ethanol or limonene vapours are effective to inhibit microbial growth in RTE food at ambient temperature, and the outcome may be due to the hurdle effect. 针对不同地质目标的叠前时间偏移成像解释评价

随着计算机硬件和地震勘探成像技术的发展，叠前时间偏移正逐步替代常规的NMO加DMO加叠后时间偏移成为地震数据成像处理方法的主流。但对于不同的地质目标，叠前时间偏移的成像效果是否优于常规NMO加DMO加叠后时间偏移的成像效果呢？为此，从地震数据成像处理方法、处理流程和处理参数等方面进行了讨论，并基于某地区三维数据常规处理结果和叠前时间偏移处理结果，针对不同地质目标进行了剖析与评价。认为：叠前时间偏移成像的垂向分辨率较常规处理明显降低，但对于空间波阻抗变化明显的河流和断层，叠前时间偏移成像的空间分辨率要高于常规处理；对于小于1／4波长的叠置薄储层，叠前时间偏移成像的垂向和空间分辨率低于常规处理结果。

膨胀套管的弹塑性理论分析

分析认为，膨胀套管在膨胀过程中先进入弹性阶段，然后进入弹塑性阶段，最后进入塑性流动阶段。采用弹塑性分析方法，对膨胀套管膨胀过程中套管内壁的受力与变形进行了研究，模拟了其成形的过程，并建立了解析解，为膨胀套管膨胀操作过程中确定关键操作参数提供了理论支持。根据推导出的力学模型，计算出了外径107．9mm、钢级为J55的膨胀套管膨胀到直径139．7mm时膨胀芯头拉头处的轴向力为195．94kN。     

Defocusing image to pattern contact holes using attenuated phase shift masks

The patterning of contact holes by selecting out-of-focus image plane (defocus) using attenuated phase shift masks (APSM) has been studied. Defocus is found to enhance the image modulation at low partial coherence for contact holes with negative local average of mask function. Semi-dense holes up to 130 nm in 8% APSM have been printed by 0.5 μm defocus at a partial coherence of 0.31 using KrF scanner with highest numerical aperture of 0.68. However, these holes were closed with in-focus imaging. Defocus is also found to be beneficial for patterning the pitches that have extensive side lobes with in-focus imaging.     

Personal telecommunication radiation safety and the precautionary principle

The approach to risk management for RF and microwave radiation has been to establish guidelines for maximum permissible levels of exposure. These guidelines are based on evaluations of the relevant scientific literature and, with safety margins to account for uncertainties and gaps in scientific knowledge, offer a significant level of protection against established hazards of RF and microwave radiation for short-term exposures. One can argue, on this basis, that the precautionary principle - specifically, safety factors -have been used to guide the making and promulgation of existing permissible-exposure standards for RF and microwave radiation. Therefore, discussions on the appropriateness of the precautionary principle for RF radiation may be "much ado about nothing". Clearly, this approach to "pre caution" neither has stifled technological development, nor has it helped to enforce the acceptance of zero risk, but it provided a basis for action when science was unable to give a clear answer.
