In this work, we elucidate the regular rule of the symmetry in electron diffraction patterns from helical structures. It is affected by the value of the dominating Bessel function orders for the layer lines and relative orientation of the samples with respect to the electron beam. For Single-Walled Carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), we use analytic analysis and computer simulations to demonstrate that the 2mm symmetry of the electron diffraction may break down not only from an achiral SWCNT, but also from a chiral SWCNT. Also, the simulation work for B-DNA is presented to corroborate the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Hydroxyapatite, a ceramic with which natural bone inherently bonds, has been incorporated into a polymer matrix to enhance the bioactivity of implant materials. In order to manufacture custom-made bioactive implants rapidly, selective laser sintering has been investigated to fabricate hydroxyapatite and polyamide composites and their properties investigated. One objective of this research was to identify the maximum hydroxyapatite content that could be incorporated into the matrix, which was sintered at various parameters. The study focused on investigating the control of porosity and pore size of the matrix by manipulating the selective laser sintering parameters of the laser power and laser scan speed. The interception method was used to analyse the internal porous morphology of the matrices which were cross-sectioned through the vertical plane. Most notably, all structures built demonstrated interconnection and penetration throughout the matrix. Liquid displacement was also used to analyse the porosity of the matrices. The laser power showed a negative relationship between porosity and variation in parameter values until a critical power value was reached. However, the same relationship for laser scan speed matrices was inconsistent. The effects of the laser power and laser scanning speed on the features of porous structures that could influence cell spreading, proliferation, and bone regeneration are presented.  相似文献

After being located on a machine bed, a workpiece will be subject to gravity and cutting forces during the machining operation. In order to keep the locating precision as well as the production safety, it is necessary to maintain the workpiece stability. In this paper, a linear programming method is proposed for stability analysis of the workpiece. Based on the linear approximation of the friction cone, a quantitative criterion is established to verify the workpiece stability in association with the rationality of the clamping sequence, magnitude of clamping forces and clamping placement. This criterion allows designers to plan reasonably the clamping sequence, magnitude of clamping forces as well as clamping placement. Compared with existing methods, the main advantage of this approach lies in that the sophisticated computing of contact forces between fixture elements and the workpiece is avoided. In this work, both friction and frictionless cases can be easily taken into account in stability analysis. Mathematical formulations of the method are given and some numerical tests are finally demonstrated to validate the proposed method.  相似文献

Shear horizontal waves are very useful in nondestructive evaluation applications because of their non-dispersive property. The objective of this research is to investigate frequency-tuned shear horizontal wave transduction in plates by using magnetostrictive nickel gratings. Since wireless energy conversion between magnetic energy and acoustic energy in magnetostrictive material can take place, the generation and measurement of waves by the magnetostrictive principle have recently received much attention. In this work, a grating-type magnetostrictive transducer was considered for SH wave transduction; waves can be effectively tuned at desired frequencies by changing grating size and distance. The present experiments showed that the bias field strength and grating width should be selected appropriately to avoid generating unwanted wave modes such as the S0-Lamb wave modes. It is also confirmed from experiments that the grating distance controls the center (or tuning) frequency of the grating transducer.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of geometrical and physical parameters on failure modes and failure loads in unidirectional polymeric matrix composites with two serial pin loaded holes, analytically and experimentally. It is assumed that all of unidirectional fibers in the laminate lie in one direction while loaded by a load p 0 at infinity, parallel to the direction of the fibers. To derive equilibrium equations based on a Shear-Lag theory, a rectangular arrangement of fibers is considered and with the proper use of boundary and boundness conditions, stress and displacement fields are computed within the laminate, along with the surrounding pinholes. Finally by using the Hashin criterion failure modes and failure loads are estimated. To validate analytical results based on shear-lag theory, an experimental program is carried out. A very good agreement is observed between two procedures. Based on results, in small sizes of two pins, the dominant failure mode is bearing and with the increasing of hole sizes, failure modes are changed to tension and shear modes.  相似文献

A three-dimensional dynamic model for nano/micro-fabrications of silicon was presented. With the developed model, the fabrication process of silicon on nothing (SON) structure was quantitatively investigated. We employ a diffuse interface model that incorporates the mechanism of surface diffusion. The mechanism of the fabrication is systematically integrated for high reliability of computational analysis. A semi-implicit Fourier spectral scheme is applied for high efficiency and numerical stability. Moreover, the theoretical analysis provides the guidance that is ordered by the fundamental geometrical design parameters to guide different fabrications of SON structures. The performed simulations suggest a substantial potential of the presented model for a reliable design technology of nano/micro-fabrications.  相似文献

Fluxing agents of zinc borate, antimony oxide, galss frit A and glass frit B, with different melting or softening point temperatures, were added into MgO-Al2O3-SiO2/boron phenol formaldehyde resin (MAS/BPF) composites to lower the formation temperature of eutectic liquid phase and promote the ceramification of ceramifiable composites. The effects of fluxing agents on the thermogravimetric properties, phase evolution, and microstructure evolution of MAS / BPF composites were characterized by TG-DSC, XRD and SEM analyses. The results reveal that the addition of a fluxing agent highly reduces the decomposition rate of MAS / BPF composites. Fluxing agents lower the formation temperatures of liquid phases of ceramifiable MAS / BPF composites obviously, and then promote the ceramification and densification process. The final residues of composites are ceramic surrounded by large amount of glass phases.  相似文献

A facile approach has been developed to synthesize Fe3O4@PAM (polyacrylamide) nanoparticles (NPs) with carboxyl groups on the surfaces by copolymerization with acrylamide and acrylic acid in Fe3O4 NPs aqueous suspension. Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) was conjugated to the magnetic NPs via well-known carboniimide chemistry using EDC and NHS. The Ni2+ ions loaded on the surface of NPs provide abundant docking sites for immobilization of His-tagged green fluorescent proteins (His-tagged GFP). The high magnetic property of Fe3O4@PAM@NTA-Ni2+ allows an easy separation of the NPs from solution under an external magnetic field, with high His-tagged protein binding capacity (42 μg protein/mg of NPs). The NPs can be recycled for at least four times without significant loss of binding capacity to proteins. These materials show great potential to separate His-tagged protein with low-cost purification at industrial scale.  相似文献
