Integration of Web-Services and “smart objects” in supply chain manufacturing systems (SCM) enables enterprise innovation and competitiveness in a globalized economy. The paper proposes a web-service based architecture for SCM that enables enterprises to develop context-awareness and to achieve interoperability at data, services, processes and business levels using event based web service notifications. The direct observation of cells over time using time-lapse microscopy can provide deep insights into many important biological processes. Reliable analyses of motility, proliferation, invasive potential or mortality of cells are essential to many studies involving live cell imaging and can aid in biomarker discovery and diagnostic decisions. Given the vast amount of image- and time-series data produced by modern microscopes, automated analysis is a key feature to capitalize the potential of time-lapse imaging devices. To provide fast and reproducible analyses of multiple aspects of cell behaviour, we developed TimeLapseAnalyzer. Apart from general purpose image enhancements and segmentation procedures, this extensible, self-contained, modular cross-platform package provides dedicated modalities for fast and reliable analysis of multi-target cell tracking, scratch wound healing analysis, cell counting and tube formation analysis in high throughput screening of live-cell experiments. This paper refers to the Collatz conjecture. The origin and the formalization of the Collatz problem are presented in the first section, named “Introduction”. In the second section, entitled “Properties of the Collatz function”, we treat mainly the bijectivity of the Collatz function. Using the obtained results, we construct a (set of) binary tree(s) which “simulate(s)”– in a way that will be specified – the computations of the values of the Collatz function. In the third section, we give an “efficient” algorithm for computing the number of iterations (recursive calls) of the Collatz function. A comparison between our algorithm and the standard one is also presented, the first being at least 2.25 “faster” (3.00 in medium). The authors’ work on lobster fishery in Chile is summarized in this paper. The paper presents the formulation and algorithmic resolution of a two-stage stochastic nonlinear programming model with recourse. The proposed model considers a long-term planning horizon and specifically allows an optimal total allowable catch quota to be obtained for the first planning period. This model takes into account biomass dynamics, the conditions guaranteeing sustained species management and uncertain parameters such as growth rate and species carrying capacity. These parameters are explicitly incorporated via a discrete random variable (scenarios). The proposed model is solved by Lagrangian decomposition using the algebraic modeling software AMPL, in combination with the solver MINOS to solve the nonlinear models resulting from the scenario decomposition. The article also presents the results obtained with this methodology and the conclusions drawn from the work.  相似文献

We compared three different bibliometric evaluation approaches: two citation-based approaches and one based on manual classification of publishing channels into quality levels. Publication data for two universities was used, and we worked with two levels of analysis: article and department. For the article level, we investigated the predictive power of field normalized citation rates and field normalized journal impact with respect to journal level. The results for the article level show that evaluation of journals based on citation impact correlate rather well with manual classification of journals into quality levels. However, the prediction from field normalized citation rates to journal level was only marginally better than random guessing. At the department level, we studied three different indicators in the context of research fund allocation within universities and the extent to which the three indicators produce different distributions of research funds. It turned out that the three distributions of relative indicator values were very similar, which in turn yields that the corresponding distributions of hypothetical research funds would be very similar.  相似文献

In freeze drying, the desorption step for reaching a low target moisture content may take a significant fraction of the total process duration. Because the long-term stability of freeze-dried biological products strongly depends on the current moisture content, modeling the desorption process may help safely optimize the secondary drying step. Most published models assume a first-order desorption kinetic, but experimental evidence shows that strongly bound water in the monolayer takes a much longer time to be desorbed than less bound water in multilayer. The proposed model for desorption of freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria preparation accounts for monolayer and multilayer water state in the solid matrix, with very different desorption kinetics. Results showed that the ratio of characteristic desorption times (monolayer/multilayer) was almost 30. Temperature dependence was adequately described by an Arrhenius law in the range of 15 to 40°C. Model parameter identification used simultaneously gravimetric measurements with high time resolution and direct Karl-Fisher titration, from several experiments at different, time-varying temperatures.  相似文献
