The role of interface morphology in the magnetic behavior of FePt/Fe exchange-coupled systems has been considered. Hard/soft bilayers with different interface morphologies were obtained by depositing Fe thin layers on FePt epitaxial layers with different morphologies, but all with a high degree of L10 ordering and high coercivity. It was found that the hard/soft coupling can be tuned by changing the FePt morphology, allowing tailoring of the hysteresis loops and modification of the magnetic regime at a fixed Fe thickness (from Rigid Magnet to Exchange-Spring magnet). Remarkably, all bilayer series showed a drastic reduction in coercivity with increasing Fe thickness to 3.5 nm (μ0HC ? 1.1 T).  相似文献

High-frequency surface acoustic waves can be generated by ultrafast laser excitation of nanoscale patterned surfaces. Here we study this phenomenon in the hypersonic frequency limit. By modeling the thermomechanics from first-principles, we calculate the system's initial heat-driven impulsive response and follow its time evolution. A scheme is introduced to quantitatively access frequencies and lifetimes of the composite system's excited eigenmodes. A spectral decomposition of the calculated response on the eigemodes of the system reveals asymmetric resonances that result from the coupling between surface and bulk acoustic modes. This finding allows evaluation of impulsively excited pseudosurface acoustic wave frequencies and lifetimes and expands our understanding of the scattering of surface waves in mesoscale metamaterials. The model is successfully benchmarked against time-resolved optical diffraction measurements performed on one-dimensional and two-dimensional surface phononic crystals, probed using light at extreme ultraviolet and near-infrared wavelengths.  相似文献

As shown previously, the conventional testing procedure for simulating long-term migration from the gaskets of metal closures into oily foods does not adequately reflect reality. It appears to be impossible to accelerate migration to the extent that the situation at the end of the shelf life of a product can be anticipated in a few days or weeks. Therefore, we investigated whether long-term migration could be extrapolated from migration rates determined for new lids. Jars were kept in the normal upright position. Since heat treatment may have a strong temporary impact, migration during the initial heating for pasteurization or sterilization and storage at ambient temperature were determined using different lids. Commercial products were recalled from sales points throughout Europe to determine the real migration over extended periods of time and for jars with differing histories. This migration was compared with data from the short-term testing to investigate whether an empirical relationship could be derived. The results show that the short-term test enables the comparison of lids and plasticizers in the initial phase of migration, but that long-term extrapolation presupposes more complex kinetic modeling. The results also demonstrate that the legal relevance of “official” testing methods should be reconsidered to avoid conflict when food contact materials comply with migration limits in the test but not in actual application.  相似文献

Simultaneous material consolidation and shaping, as performed in manufacturing of composite materials, causes a strong interconnection between structural and manufacturing parameters which makes the design process complicated. In this paper, the design of a carbon fiber bicycle stem is examined through the application of a multi-objective optimization method to illustrate the interconnection between structural and manufacturing objectives. To demonstrate the proposed method, a test case dealing with the design of composite part with complex geometry, small size and hollow structure is described. Bladder-assisted Resin Transfer Molding is chosen as the manufacturing method. A finite element model of the stem is created to evaluate the objectives of the structural design, while a simplified 2D model is used to simulate the flow inside the preform during the injection process. Both models are formulated to take into account the variation of fiber orientation, thickness and fiber volume fraction as a function of braid diameters, injection pressure and bladder pressure. Finally, a multiobjective optimization method, called Normalized Normal Constraint Method, is used to find a set of solutions that simultaneously optimizes weight, filling time and strength. The solution to the problem is a set of optimum designs which represent the Pareto frontier of the problem. Pareto frontier helps to gain insight into the trade-off among objectives, whose presence and importance is confirmed by the numerical results presented in this paper.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The detection of pigments and colourless flavonoids in apples can provide a useful indication of fruit quality. Optical methods are preferable because they are fast and non‐destructive. In this study, a fluorescence‐based portable sensor was used in order to non‐invasively determine the content of chlorophylls, anthocyanins and flavonols in Fuji, Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apple cultivars. The aim was to define new non‐destructive optical indices of apple quality. RESULTS: The anthocyanin index (ANTH) in Fuji was higher in the sunny (i.e. sun‐exposed) side of the fruit compared to the shady side. For all cultivars, the flavonol index (FLAV) was higher in the sunny side compared with the shady side. The chlorophyll index (CHL) for the shady sides of Granny Smith and Golden Delicious was significantly higher than for the sunny sides. Fine linear regressions were found between the ANTH, FLAV and CHL indices and the actual anthocyanin, flavonol and chlorophyll concentrations, respectively, which were determined destructively on the apple peel extracts. A negative correlation was found between the apple sugar content and the chlorophyll fluorescence in the far‐red spectral band. CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that a single multiparametric fluorescence‐based sensor can provide valuable non‐destructive markers of ripening and quality in apples. The reproducibility of activation detection by each of four algorithms used to calculate maximum derivatives was tested on two sequential paced beats of right ventricular unipolar epicardial electrograms which represented either local activation of the right ventricle alone or synchronous activation of both ventricles. The methods were evaluated by comparing the shape of the two beats aligned on their selected activation times, i.e., the time at which the maximum negative deflection occurred, the differences in activation intervals for the two beats, and the effect on the activation time of superimposing distant events on local activation. The 17-point second-order data fit algorithm performed slightly better than the first-order difference, three-point Lagrange derivative, and five-point second-order data fit algorithms except that activation time selection by the 17-point technique was slightly, but significantly, delayed by the superposition of distant potentials. The 17-point second-order data fit technique is therefore recommended for use in detecting activation unless computation time is a major consideration. In that case, the five-point second-order data fit technique, which uses only four data values for each computation, can be used with only slight decreases in accuracy.  相似文献

Changes in the aromatic profile of Parma ham caused by the normal course of aging up to 12 months were examined in order to identify distinctive signals for different maturing periods (6, 9, 12 months).

The 28 samples analysed, divided among the three periods mentioned above, provided an aromatic profile in which methyl esters were the most relevant signals, followed by carbonyl compounds and alcohols.

The greatest discriminating power is to be ascribed to components such as 3-methylbutanal and ethyl esters, and alcohols like 1-propanol, 1-butoxy-2-propanol and 2-butanol.

These compounds were present in higher percentages at 12 months of aging.  相似文献

Self‐healing electronic materials are of primary interest for bioelectronics and sustainable electronics. In this work, autonomic self‐healing of films obtained from mixtures of the conducting polymer poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) is reported. The presence of PEG in PEDOT:PSS films decreases the elastic modulus and increases the elongation at break, thus leading to a softer material with enhanced self‐healing characteristics. In situ imaging of the cutting/healing process shows that the healing mechanism is likely due to flowing back of the material to the damaged area right after the cutting.  相似文献
