Acrylamide (AAm)/acrylic acid (AAc) hydrogels in the cylindirical form were prepared by γ‐irradiating binary systems of AAm/AAc with 2.6–20.0 kGy γ‐rays. The effect of the dose and relative amounts of AAc and pH on the swelling properties, diffusion behavior of water, diffusion coefficients, and network properties of hydrogel systems was investigated. The swelling capacities of AAm/AAc hydrogels were in the range of 1000–3000%, while poly(acrylamide) (PAAm) hydrogels swelled in the range of 450–700%. Water diffusion into hydrogels was found to be non‐Fickian‐type diffusion. Diffusion coefficients of AAm/AAc hydrogels were found between 0.79 × 10?5 and 2.78 × 10?5 cm2 min?1. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 86: 3570–3580, 2002  相似文献

A correct diagnosis of tuberculosis disease can be only stated by applying a medical test to patient’s phlegm. The result of this test is obtained after a time period of about 45 days. The purpose of this study is to develop a data mining solution that makes diagnosis of tuberculosis as accurate as possible and helps deciding whether it is reasonable to start tuberculosis treatment on suspected patients without waiting for the exact medical test results. We proposed the use of Sugeno-type “adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference system” (ANFIS) to predict the existence of mycobacterium tuberculosis. Data set collected from 503 different patient records which are obtained from a private health clinic (consent of physicians and patients). Patient record has 30 different attributes which covers demographical and medical test data. ANFIS model was generated by using 250 records. Also, rough set method was implemented by using the same data set. The ANFIS model classifies the instances with correctness of 97 %, whereas rough set algorithm does the same classification with correctness of 92 %. This study has a contribution on forecasting patients before the medical tests.  相似文献

In this study, bismuth doped 45S5 nanobioactive bioglass (nBG) and graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposites were developed and characterized in terms of microstructural, mechanical, bioactivity and biological properties. Bismuth (Bi) - doped nBG was synthesized by sol-gel method and sintered at 600 °C for 2 h. Nanosized GO was homogeneously mixed with Bi doped bioglass at various ratios to prepare nanocomposites. Addition of Bi increased the density of nBG samples while a considerable decrease in density was observed for nanocomposites with GO incorporation. Bi improved the diametral tensile strength of nBG and addition of 2.5% GO to the composite also increased the diametral tensile strength of the nanocomposites. However, addition of more than 2.5% GO had negative effect on the diametral tensile strength of the composites. Bi doping to bioglass and its composite with GO increased the biocompatibility of 45S5 nBG in which 96.5BG1Bi2.5GO (containing 96.5% BG 1% Bi 2.5% GO in weight ratio) showed highest cell viability. Overall, it can be concluded that composites of Bi doped 45S5 nBG with GO hold promise as biomaterial for biomedical applications.  相似文献

Determination of pesticide residues is based on calibration curves constructed for each batch of analysis. Calibration standard solutions are prepared from a known amount of reference material at different concentration levels covering the concentration range of the analyte in the analysed samples. In the scope of this study, the applicability of both ordinary linear and weighted linear regression (OLR and WLR) for pesticide residue analysis was investigated. We used 782 multipoint calibration curves obtained for 72 different analytical batches with high-pressure liquid chromatography equipped with an ultraviolet detector, and gas chromatography with electron capture, nitrogen phosphorus or mass spectrophotometer detectors. Quality criteria of the linear curves including regression coefficient, standard deviation of relative residuals and deviation of back calculated concentrations were calculated both for WLR and OLR methods. Moreover, the relative uncertainty of the predicted analyte concentration was estimated for both methods. It was concluded that calibration curve based on WLR complies with all the quality criteria set by international guidelines compared to those calculated with OLR. It means that all the data fit well with WLR for pesticide residue analysis. It was estimated that, regardless of the actual concentration range of the calibration, relative uncertainty at the lowest calibrated level ranged between 0.3% and 113.7% for OLR and between 0.2% and 22.1% for WLR. At or above 1/3 of the calibrated range, uncertainty of calibration curve ranged between 0.1% and 16.3% for OLR and 0% and 12.2% for WLR, and therefore, the two methods gave comparable results.  相似文献

Hydrolysis and solubilization of corn gluten were performed using a commercial protease preparation Neutrase. The effects of substrate concentration, enzyme concentration, temperature, pH and hydrolysate amount on the degree of hydrolysis and solubility of corn gluten were investigated depending on processing time. Trials were conducted in a batch reactor and degrees of hydrolysis were computed using a pH‐stat method. Results show that solubility and degree of hydrolysis were almost linearly related in all process conditions applied except in the case of hydrolysate addition. Optimum conditions for hydrolysis and solubilization were obtained as 10 g L?1 protein concentration, 4 mL L?1 enzyme concentration, 45 °C and pH 6.5. The mechanism of the kinetics was explained by taking into consideration association binding between the enzyme and substrate. The kinetics of hydrolysis and solubilization for all experiments performed were represented by exponential association equations that have not been used in the literature before. In the present study, the reaction kinetics of corn gluten hydrolysis by Alcalase, a bacterial protease produced by Bacillus licheniformis, was investigated. The reactions were carried out for 10 min in 0.1 L of aqueous solutions containing 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 g protein L?1 corn gluten at various temperature and pH values. The amount of enzyme added to the reaction solution was 0.25% (v/v). Also, to determine decay and product inhibition effects for Alcalase, a series of inhibition experiments were conducted with the addition of various amounts of hydrolysate. For each experimental run, both the amount of hydrolysis (meqv L?1) and the soluble protein amount (g L?1) were investigated with respect to time, and the initial reaction rates were determined from the slopes of the linear models that fitted to these experimental data. The kinetic parameters, Km and Vmax were estimated as 53.77 g L?1 and 5.94 meqv L?1min?1. The type of inhibition for Alcalase was determined as uncompetitive, and the inhibition constant, Ki, was estimated as 44.68% (hydrolysate/substrate mixture).  相似文献

In the present work, the effects of impeller speed and viscosity on the enzymatic hydrolysis of whey lactose and enzyme inactivation were studied. The experiments were carried out in 250 mL of 25 mM phosphate buffer solution containing 50 g/L whey lactose by using a commercial β-galactosidase produced from Kluyveromyces marxianus in a batch reactor system. The degree of lactose hydrolysis (%) and residual enzyme activity (%) was investigated versus impeller speeds from 100 to 600 rpm and viscosities from 1.005 to 13.43 cp for 30 minutes of processing time. The mathematical models depending on these process parameters were derived using the experimental data of residual lactose concentration and residual β-galactosidase activity. The applicability of Fenton's oxidation to improve the biodegradability of a pharmaceutical wastewater to be treated biologically was investigated. The wastewater was originated from a factory producing a variety of pharmaceutical chemicals. Treatability studies were conducted under laboratory conditions with all chemicals (having COD varying from 900 to 7000 mg/L) produced in the factory in order to determine the operational conditions to utilize in the full-scale treatment plant. Optimum pH was determined as 3.5 and 7.0 for the first (oxidation) and second stage (coagulation) of the Fenton process, respectively. For all chemicals, COD removal efficiency was highest when the molar ratio of H(2)O(2)/Fe(2+) was 150-250. At H(2)O(2)/Fe(2+) ratio of 155, 0.3M H(2)O(2) and 0.002 M Fe(2+), provided 45-65% COD removal. The wastewater treatment plant that employs Fenton oxidation followed by aerobic degradation in sequencing batch reactors (SBR), built after these treatability studies provided an overall COD removal efficiency of 98%, and compliance with the discharge limits. The efficiency of the Fenton's oxidation was around 45-50% and the efficiency in the SBR system which has two reactors each having a volume of 8m(3) and operated with a total cycle time of 1 day, was around 98%, regarding the COD removal.  相似文献
