Accurate microstructural analysis of thermally sprayed coatings is possible only if specimen preparation produces a surface that clearly reveals the true microstructure. Comparison of similar specimens pre-pared by different laboratories, or different personnel in the same laboratory, often shows significant dif-ferences or variations in the microstructures, producing conflicting information that lowers the confi-dence level of microstructural analysis. A study was conducted on an alumina coating and an 8 wt% yttria-stabilized zirconia coating, both sprayed on metal substrates, to evaluate the effects of two differ-ent encapsulating procedures.  相似文献

Perovskite-type LaMnO3 powders and coatings have been prepared by a novel technique: reactive suspension plasma spraying (SPS) using an inductively coupled plasma of approximately 40 kW plate power and an oxygen plasma sheath gas. Suitable precursor mixtures were found on the basis of solid state reactions, solubility, and the phases obtained during the spray process. Best results were achieved by spraying a suspension of fine MnO2 powder in a saturated ethanol solution of LaCl3 with a 1 to 1 molar ratio of lanthanum and manganese. A low reactor pressure was helpful in diminishing the amount of corrosive chlorine compounds in the reactor. As-sprayed coatings and collected powders showed perovskite contents of 70 to 90%. After a posttreatment with an 80% oxygen plasma, an almost pure LaMnO3 deposit was achieved in the center of the incident plasma jet. Polymer nanocomposites are polymer matrix composites in which the fillers are less than 100 nm in at least one dimension. These composites have exhibited extraordinarily interesting properties. A defining feature of polymer nanocomposites is that the small size of the fillers leads to a dramatic increase in interfacial area as compared to traditional composites. This interfacial area creates a significant volume fraction of interfacial polymer with properties different from the bulk polymer even at low loadings. The properties and structure of this interfacial region are not yet known quantitatively, presenting a challenge both for controlling and predicting the properties of polymer nanocomposites. This paper provides a brief overview of polymer nanocomposites with emphasis on the impact of the interfacial region.  相似文献

Results of analysis of investigations of welded joints produced in welding low-alloy high-strength 07G2NDMFBT steel at linear energies up to 6 kJ/mm show that the proposed combinations of welding materials and the technology of multi-arc submerged-arc welding result in high hot-cracking resistance and high properties of the weld metal. However, regardless of the high cold-cracking resistance of the steel, in welding at high heat inputs there is a considerable degradation of the structure and the toughness of the metal in the coarse-grained region of the heat-affected zone decreases under the effect of the welding thermal cycle. Consequently, it is concluded that the weldability of this steel is limited and it is therefore necessary to apply restrictions in the practical application of the processes with high heat input.  相似文献

A growing body of work suggests epigenetic dysregulation contributes to endometriosis pathophysiology and female infertility. The chromatin remodeling complex subunit AT-rich interaction domain 1A (ARID1A) must be properly expressed to maintain normal uterine function. Endometrial epithelial ARID1A is indispensable for pregnancy establishment in mice through regulation of endometrial gland function; however, ARID1A expression is decreased in infertile women with endometriosis. We hypothesized that ARID1A performs critical operations in the endometrial epithelium necessary for fertility besides maintaining gland function. To identify alterations in uterine gene expression resulting from loss of epithelial ARID1A, we performed RNA-sequencing analysis on pre-implantation uteri from LtfiCre/+Arid1af/f and control mice. Differential expression analysis identified 4181 differentially expressed genes enriched for immune-related ingenuity canonical pathways including agranulocyte adhesion and diapedesis and natural killer cell signaling. RT-qPCR confirmed an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokine and macrophage-related gene expression but a decrease in natural killer cell signaling. Immunostaining confirmed a uterus-specific increase in macrophage infiltration. Flow cytometry delineated an increase in inflammatory macrophages and a decrease in uterine dendritic cells in LtfiCre/+Arid1af/f uteri. These findings demonstrate a role for endometrial epithelial ARID1A in suppressing inflammation and maintaining uterine immune homeostasis, which are required for successful pregnancy and gynecological health.  相似文献

Siloxane oligomers containing two hydroxyl, amino or anhydride groups were obtained by applying the reactions known to lead to Si C bonds. Polycondensation of these monomers with suitable bifunctional reactants resulted in siloxane-modified polyesters, phenolformaldehyde resins, polyamides, polyestermides and polyimides the properties of which, such as softening point, solubility and thermostability were investigated. The siloxane containing polyimides proved to be soluble and melting polymers that resisted heating up to 400 degrees C in the presence of air oxygen. Polyimides of similar properties but being composed of different siliciumorganic units were obtained by polycondensation of an imide-containing bis-silanol with dichloro-Si compounds. This process eliminates the laborious preparations of siliciumorganic diamines. Condensation polymerisation of organic polymers with siliciumorganic polymers having one or two reactive functional groups in their molecules allow to prepare siloxane-modified block and graft polymers as well cross-linked products.  相似文献
