Grenzen der Anwendbarkeit der Theorie der analytischen Signale

Zusammenfassung Bei der praktischen Anwendung der analytischen Signale ist es erforderlich, die Ermittlung der Hilbert-Transformation numerisch durchzuführen. Dazu wurden u.a. Verfahren von H.W. Schü?ler, R. Unbehauen und G. Wunsch vorgeschlagen. In der Arbeit werden allgemeine Ergebnisse zur numerischen Umsetzung der Hilbert-Transformation dargestellt. Es wird gezeigt, da? alle praktisch realisierbaren Verfahren für bestimmte Signale divergieren. Damit ist es m?glich, die in der Experimentalphysik schon l?nger bekannten Schwierigkeiten bei der Umsetzung der Hilbert-Transformation zu erkl?ren.     

Vibration of doubly-curved shallow shells

Summary This paper presents the free vibration of thin doubly-curved shallow shells of rectangular planform. The study covers wide combinations of free, simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. Both positive and negative Gaussian curvatures (spherical and hyperbolic paraboloidal shells resepectively) are considered. Thepb-2 Ritz energy based approach, along with the in-plane and transverse deflections assumed in the form of a product of mathematically complete two-dimensional orthogonal polynomials and a basic function, is employed to model the vibratory characteristic of these shells. Numerical results have been established through convergence study and comparison with published data from the open literature. Extensive sets of new results for various ranges of aspect ratio, curvature ratio andx- andy-shallowness ratios have been presented for future reference.     

Computing hysteresis points of nonlinear equations depending on two parameters

A direct method is described for computing a hysteresis point (double turning point) corresponding to a cusp point of a system ofn nonlinear equations inn variables depending on two parameters. By addition of two equations a minimally extended system ofn+2 nonlinear equations is constructed for which the hysteresis point is an isolated solution. An efficient implementation of Newton's method is presented not requiring evaluations of second derivatives of the original problem. Two numerical examples show the efficiency of theQ-quadratically convergent method.

Die Autoren befürworten eine weite betriebliche Regelungskompetenz, beschr?nken diese aber zum Schutz der Arbeitnehmer durch eine Reihe datenschutzrechtlicher Mindestanforderungen, die Betriebsvereinbarungen einzuhalten haben.     

A note on surface waves in anisotropic media

Summary An examination of possible forms of traction free surface wave in anisotropic elastic materials is undertaken. The results yield some interesting features of a certain arbitrariness which exists in displacement waves on a traction free surface in anisotropic media.     

Sicherheitstechnische Maßnahmen bei der thermischen Abluftreinigung

Safety measures in thermal waste air purification units . Safety problems may arise in thermal waste air purification units from the occasional explosive nature of the exhaust gases, which may cause a flashback into the production plant. This must be avoided by the installation of safety devices that arrest a flashback. The number of such safety devices is determined by the probability of formation of explosive waste air, according to the zone classification of the explosion-protection guide. The principal explosion arrestor devices installed between combustion chamber and production plant are liquid submersion systems, detonation barriers, and dynamic flashback-free inlets into the combustion chamber, all of which must be operated under instrumental surveillance. This report presents a state-of-the-art summary of all suitable procedures and safety devices permitting safe design of systems for thermal air cleaning problems encountered in practice.     

Model reactions on roast aroma formation

Summary From model roastings of mixtures containing serine, threonine and sucrose about 350 volatile compounds were separated and identified by GC/MS. Among them there were more than 100 monocyclic furans, 13 furanones and 8 bicyclic furans, the mass spectra and retention indices of which are recorded. The most important mass spectrometric fragmentation pathways are described. Spectra obtained from roasting coffee under identical conditions are compared with the spectra from model roastings.

Modell-Reaktionen zur Röstaroma-BildungII. Die massenspektrometrische Identifizierung von Furanen und Furanonen aus der Reaktion von Serin und Threonin mit Saccharose unter den Bedingungen der Kaffeeröstung

Zusammenfassung Aus Modellröstungen von Gemischen aus Serin, Threonin und Saccharose unter den Bedingungen der Kaffeeröstung wurden etwa 350 flüchtige Verbindungen mittels GC/MS getrennt und identifiziert. Unter ihnen befanden sich über 100 monocyclische Furane und 13 Furanone sowie 8 bicyclische Furane, deren Massenspektren und Retentions-indices angegeben werden. Die wichtigsten massenspektrometrischen Fragmentierungswege werden beschrieben. -Die aus einer gleich behandelten Röstung von Rohkaffee erhaltenen Spektren werden mit denen der Modellröstungen verglichen.
