The dimensions of discrete passives, passive integrated components (arrays, networks) and embedded integral ones should be reduced significantly in the nearest future. Therefore the relations between technological accuracy and limitations, minimal geometrical dimensions and electrical as well as stability properties become more and more important. This paper presents systematic studies of thick-film or LTCC microresistors made with the aid of laser shaping. The investigations are concerned with miniaturization of two resistor dimensions, namely length (down to 30 μm) and width (also down to 30 μm). The sheet resistance, hot temperature coefficient of resistance (HTCR) as well as long-term stability and durability of test structures to various short electrical pulses were related to geometrical properties of microresistors. Such investigations proved that combining of current materials and fabrication methods used in modern thick-film and LTCC technologies with laser shaping made possible fabrication of 30 × 30 μm2 microresistors with satisfactory electrical properties and can serve as interesting alternative for thick-film and LTCC resistors miniaturization.  相似文献

The scattering field of a ferrite post and a cylindrical ferrite post containing conducting post illuminated by a plane wave is analyzed. The special interest is the scattering property of the ferrite posts, which is resonating at certain modes such as TM11 mode. We hope to know the speciality it shows and find its applications. It is found that the scattering field pattern of a resonating ferrite post is similar to the rotation of the scattering field pattern of a dielectric cylindrical post, which has the same dimension as ferrite. The scattering properties of the ferrite may give us some inspirations to explore its applications in microwave components. This property is utilized to explain the mechanism of the operation of the circulators. It also may be used in microstrip patch antenna, coupler and filter to control their properties. Other applications may be possible too. Some calculation results are presented.  相似文献

The surface properties and self‐adhesion mechanism of self‐healing poly(butyl acrylate) (PBA) copolymers containing comonomers with 2‐ureido‐4[1H]‐pyrimidinone quadruple hydrogen bonding groups (UPy) are investigated using a surface forces apparatus (SFA) coupled with a top‐view optical microscope. The surface energies of PBA–UPy4.0 and PBA–UPy7.2 (with mole percentages of UPy 4.0% and 7.2%, respectively) are estimated to be 45–56 mJ m?2 under dry condition by contact angle measurements using a three probe liquid method and also by contact and adhesion mechanics tests, as compared to the reported literature value of 31–34 mJ m?2 for PBA, an increase that is attributed to the strong UPy–UPy H‐bonding interactions. The adhesion strengths of PBA–UPy polymers depend on the UPy content, contact time, temperature and humidity level. Fractured PBA–UPy films can fully recover their self‐adhesion strength to 40, 81, and 100% in 10 s, 3 h, and 50 h, respectively, under almost zero external load. The fracture patterns (i.e., viscous fingers and highly “self‐organized” parallel stripe patterns) have implications for fabricating patterned surfaces in materials science and nanotechnology. These results provide new insights into the fundamental understanding of adhesive mechanisms of multiple hydrogen‐bonding polymers and development of novel self‐healing and stimuli‐responsive materials.  相似文献

The measured degradation of epitaxial shallow homojunction n+p InP solar cells under 1-MeV electron irradiation is correlated with that measured under 3-MeV proton irradiation based on ‘displacement damage dose’. The measured data are analyzed as a function of displacement damage dose from which an electron-to-proton dose equivalency ratio is determined which enables the electron and proton degradation data to be described by a single degradation curve. It is discussed how this single curve can be used to predict the cell degradation under irradiation by any particle energy. The degradation curve is used to compare the radiation response of InP and GaAs/Ge cells on an absolute damage energy scale. The comparison shows InP to be inherently more resistant to displacement damage deposition than the GaAs/Ge.  相似文献

ZnO-based varistors protect electronic circuits against overvoltage. High temperature from the range of 1150-1300 °C is required for proper sintering of such material. Varistor inks with lower firing temperature are needed for application in thick-film and LTCC technology. ZnO-based thick-film composition was prepared and varistors were fabricated on alumina and LTCC substrate. Different topologies (capacitor-like or planar), electrode metallurgies (PdAg, Au or Pt-based) and firing profiles (850 °C or 950 °C) were used. Samples microstructure was investigated. Varistor I-V characteristics, long-term stability and durability to high voltage pulses were examined. Satisfactory results were achieved, because nonlinearity coefficient α up to 23 was obtained for capacitor-like varistors with Pt terminations on LTCC substrates, long-term thermally aged (150 h at 250 °C) varistors had slightly smaller nonlinearity coefficient and characteristic voltage, V1 mA and components subjected to series of high voltage pulse (1000 pulses with 10 mA amplitude and 5 ms duration each) exhibited almost the same electrical parameters.  相似文献

Engineering the texture and nanostructure to improve the electrical conductivity of semicrystalline conjugated polymers must address the rate-limiting step for charge carrier transport. In highly face-on orientation, the charge transport between chains within a crystallite becomes rate-limiting, which is highly sensitive to the π–π stacking distance and interchain charge transfer integral. Here, face-on oriented semicrystalline poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) thin films are grown via water-assisted (W-A) oxidative chemical vapor deposition (oCVD). Combining W-A with the volatile oxidant, antimony pentachloride, yields an optimized electrical conductivity of 7520  ±  240 S cm−1, a record for PEDOT thin films. Systematic control of π–π stacking distance from 3.50 Å down to 3.43 Å yields an electrical conductivity enhancement of ≈ 1140%. The highest electrical conductivity also corresponds to minimum in Urbach energy of 205 meV, indicating superior morphological order. The figure of merit for transparent conductors, σdcop, reaches a maximum value of 94, which is 1.9 × and 6.7 × higher than oCVD PEDOT grown without W-A and utilizing vanadium oxytrichloride and iron chloride oxidizing agents, respectively. The W-A oCVD is single-step all-dry process and provides conformal coverage, allowing direct growth on mechanical flexible, rough, and structured surfaces without the need for complex and costly transfer steps.  相似文献

Indoor infrared communication systems is one of the possible ways of offering data rates in excess of 100 Mbit/s without the need for wiring. Multiple users can share an infrared channel by code division-multiple access (CDMA) techniques. However, the CDMA system performance is limited by both background noise and co-channel interference. In this paper we study the use of angle diversity for mitigating the effects of the noise and interference. The system considered uses on-off shift keying modulation with multibeam transmitters and imaging receivers. The overall system performance for different diversity combining techniques is evaluated and compared to a system without diversity. Numerical results for a 2-user CDMA system indicate that signal to noise and interference ratio (SNIR) improvement (over systems with no diversity) of 5 dB is obtained for at least 50% of an ensemble of 10000 sample evaluations. The generalized selection combining (GSC)--a new diversity technique yet to be implemented for infrared systems--offers the best performance even with its reduced complexity.  相似文献

Simulations of the bidomain equations involve solving large, sparse, linear systems of the form Ax = b. Being an initial value problems, it is solved at every time step. Therefore, efficient solvers are essential to keep simulations tractable. Iterative solvers, especially the preconditioned conjugate gradient (PCG) method, are attractive since memory demands are minimized compared to direct methods, albeit at the cost of solution speed. However, a proper preconditioner can drastically speed up the solution process by reducing the number of iterations. In this paper, a novel preconditioner for the PCG method based on system order reduction using the Arnoldi method (A-PCG) is proposed. Large order systems, generated during cardiac bidomain simulations employing a finite element method formulation, are solved with the A-PCG method. Its performance is compared with incomplete LU (ILU) preconditioning. Results indicate that the A-PCG estimates an approximate solution considerably faster than the ILU, often within a single iteration. To reduce the computational demands in terms of memory and run time, the use of a cascaded preconditioner was suggested. The A-PCG was applied to quickly obtain an approximate solution, and subsequently a cheap iterative method such as successive overrelaxation (SOR) is applied to further refine the solution to arrive at a desired accuracy. The memory requirements are less than those of direct LU but more than ILU method. The proposed scheme is shown to yield significant speedups when solving time evolving systems.  相似文献
