Levels of 22?,22?Ra, 232Th, 21?Pb, 21?Po and ??K in sediments from four monitoring areas, El Hamraween and Ras El Behar (Red Sea, Egypt) and LL3A and JML (Baltic Sea, Finland), have been investigated using alpha and gamma spectrometry. The average activity concentrations were 238±4 Bq kg?1 (22?Ra), 215±11 Bq kg?1 (21?Pb) and 311±18 Bq kg?1 (21?Po) for El Hamraween area. In Ras El Behar area, the corresponding values were 16±0.4, 18±1 and 20±5 Bq kg?1, respectively. The activity concentrations for 22?Ra, 21?Pb and 21?Po (uranium series) in El Hamraween bottom sediment are much high compared with those in Ras El Behar area, which indicates the enhanced levels due to the activities of phosphate mining and shipment operations in El Hamraween area. Excluding the influence of phosphate mining activities, it can be concluded that the levels of radioactivity in Baltic Sea sediments are higher than those in Red Sea sediments.  相似文献

Post-growth transfer and high growth temperature are two major hurdles that research has to overcome to get graphene out of research laboratories. Here, using a plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition process, we demonstrate the large-area formation of continuous transparent graphene layers at temperatures as low as 450?°C. Our few-layer graphene grows at the interface between a pre-deposited 200 nm Ni catalytic film and an insulating glass substrate. After nickel etching, we are able to measure the optical transmittance of the layers without any transfer. We also measure their sheet resistance directly and after inkjet printing of electrical contacts: sheet resistance is locally as low as 500 Ω sq?1. Finally the samples equipped with printed contacts appear to be efficient humidity sensors.  相似文献

In active polarization imaging, one frequently needs to be insensitive to noninformative spatial intensity fluctuations. We investigate a way of solving this issue with general state contrast (GSC) imaging. It consists in acquiring two scalar polarimetric images with optimized illumination and analysis polarization states, then forming a ratio. We propose a method for maximizing the discrimination ability between a target and a background in GSC images by determining the optimal illumination and analysis states. A further advantage of this approach is to provide an objective way of quantifying the performance improvement obtained by increasing the number of degrees of freedom of a GSC imager. The efficiency of this approach is demonstrated on simulated and real-world images.  相似文献

We have successfully fabricated high-density pure aluminum (Al) bulk by means of a spark-plasma-sintering (SPS) process. The relative density of Al was enhanced as the sintering temperature of the SPS process increased. During the SPS process for pure Al power, the Al oxide layer on the surface of the Al particle was partially broken by the microplasma and applied pressure. The microstructures of the spark-plasma-sintered compacts obtained at various temperatures were observed by optical microscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. We believe that the pinning effect, rapid heating cycle, and applied pressure played an important role in restraining the particle growth despite the increase in sintering temperature. It is feasible that the employed SPS process could be very useful to achieve fully densified Al compact.  相似文献

Over the past decade, the analysis of metabolic data with advanced chemometric techniques has offered the potential to explore functional relationships among biological compartments in relation to the structure and function of the intestine. However, the employed methodologies, generally based on regression modeling techniques, have given emphasis to region-specific metabolic patterns, while providing only limited insights into the spatiotemporal metabolic features of the complex gastrointestinal system. Hence, novel approaches are needed to analyze metabolic data to reconstruct the metabolic biological space associated with the evolving structures and functions of an organ such as the gastrointestinal tract. Here, we report the application of multivariate curve resolution (MCR) methodology to model metabolic relationships along the gastrointestinal compartments in relation to its structure and function using data from our previous metabonomic analysis. The method simultaneously summarizes metabolite occurrence and contribution to continuous metabolic signatures of the different biological compartments of the gut tract. This methodology sheds new light onto the complex web of metabolic interactions with gut symbionts that modulate host cell metabolism in surrounding gut tissues. In the future, such an approach will be key to provide new insights into the dynamic onset of metabolic deregulations involved in region-specific gastrointestinal disorders, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.  相似文献

Contributing to the advancement of cognitive ergonomics, both as a scientific discipline and as a field of professional activity, is a major challenge for the future of ergonomics. It is to advance this objective that I want to make my contribution: while cognitive ergonomics has undoubtedly become established as a scientific discipline, it is still only applied in an approximate fashion by consultant ergonomists in their day-to-day work of analysing and improving socio-technical systems. The cognitive analysis of work is still too close to a research activity rather than a practice. Beyond the protected frontiers of university laboratories and research departments of large corporations, cognitive engineering often draws more on intuition derived from operators' cognitive activities than from the results of rigorous methodological approaches. This hampers the expansion of cognitive ergonomics as a vehicle for transforming socio-technical systems. Developing practical means of applying cognitive ergonomics within the context of operation on the ground is, thus, a challenge to be met, if this scientific discipline is to contribute fully to the improvement of working systems on a daily basis.  相似文献

Abstract

Owing to the three-fold degeneracy of the LUMO in C60, its hexa-anion is not subjected to Jahn-Teller distortions. In contrast to the accepted presumptions, however, computations at the MNDO, AMI, PM3, SAM1, HF/STO-3G, HF/3-21G, and HF/4-31G levels show that the completely relaxed, non-icosahedral cage of C6? 60is lower in energy. The computed energy gain varies between 60 and 150 kJ/mol and thus, it is consistently significant (the most sophisticated approach, HF/4-31G, yields 93 kJ/mol). The longest C-C bond in the relaxed structures is at most computed 0.05 Å longer compared to the 5/6 bond in the icosahedral C6? 60The symmetry of C6? 60is relaxed to D2 A C2v, isomer is discussed, too.  相似文献

Admixing pure elements to powder mixes can cause the formation of heterogeneous microstructures in sintered parts. For instance, nickel is renowned for forming nickel-rich areas (NRA) in powder metallurgy (PM) nickel steels due to its poor diffusivity in iron matrix (or lattice). The present work is aimed at characterizing the principal diffusion mechanisms of nickel and their influence on microstructures and properties of PM nickel steels. A new wavelength dispersive X-ray spectrometry (WDS) approach linking line scans and X-ray maps to concentration maps is proposed. Grain boundary and volume diffusion coefficients of admixed nickel have been determined in PM nickel steels using Suzuoka’s equation. Results also show that nickel distributes itself in the iron matrix mainly by surface and grain boundary diffusion.  相似文献

Apex hybrid reactor has a good potential to utilize uranium and thorium fuels in the future. This toroidal reactor is a type of system that facilitates the occurrence of the nuclear fusion and fission events together. The most important feature of hybrid reactor is that the first wall surrounding the plasma is liquid. The advantages of utilizing a liquid wall are high power density capacity good power transformation productivity, the magnitude of the reactor’s operational duration, low failure percentage, short maintenance time and the inclusion of the system’s simple technology and material. The analysis has been made using the MCNP Monte Carlo code and ENDF/B–V–VI nuclear data. Around the fusion chamber, molten salts Flibe (LI2BeF4), lead–lithium (PbLi), Li–Sn, thin-lityum (Li20Sn80) have used as cooling materials. APEX reactor has modeled in the torus form by adding nuclear materials of low significance in the specified percentages between 0 and 12 % to the molten salts. In this study, the neutronic performance of the APEX fusion reactor using various molten salts has been investigated. The nuclear parameters of Apex reactor has been searched for Flibe (LI2BeF4) and Li–Sn, for blanket layers. In case of usage of the Flibe (LI2BeF4), PbLi, and thin-lityum (Li20Sn80) salt solutions at APEX toroidal reactors, fissile material production per source neutron, tritium production speed, total fission rate, energy reproduction factor has been calculated, the results obtained for both salt solutions are compared.  相似文献
