Using optical-pump terahertz-probe spectroscopy, we study the relaxation dynamics of photoexcited carriers in graphene at different substrate temperatures. We find that at lower temperatures the tail of the relaxation transients measured by the differential probe transmission become slower, extending beyond several hundred picoseconds below 50 K. We interpret the observed relaxation transients as resulting from the cooling of the photoexcited carriers via phonon emission. The slow cooling of the photoexcited carriers at low temperatures is attributed to the bulk of the electron and hole energy distributions moving close enough to the Dirac point that both intraband and interband scattering of carriers via optical phonon emission become inefficient for removing heat from the carriers. Our model, which includes intraband carrier scattering and interband carrier recombination and generation, agrees very well with the experimental observations.  相似文献

Synthesis of thermally evaporated ZnSe thin film at room temperature   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Zinc selenide (ZnSe) thin film on glass substrates were prepared by thermal evaporation under high vacuum using the quasi-closed volume technique at room temperature (300 ± 2 K). The deposited ZnSe properties were assessed via X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscope (AFM), UV-Vis specrophotometry, Raman spectroscopy, photo-luminescence, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and spectroscopic ellipsometry. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the film exhibited reflection corresponding to the cubic (111) phase (2θ = 27.20°). This analysis indicated that the sample is polycrystalline and have cubic (Zinc blende) structure. The crystallites were preferentially oriented with the (111) planes parallel to the substrates. The AFM images showed that the ZnSe films have smooth morphology with roughness 6.74 nm. The transmittance spectrum revealed a high transmission of 89% in the infrared region (≥ 600 nm) and a low transmission of 40% at 450 nm. The maximum transmission of 89.6% was observed at 640 nm. Optical band-gap was calculated from the transmission data of specrophotometry, photo-luminescence and ellipsometry and was 2.76, 2.74 and 2.82 eV respectively. Raman spectroscopic studies revealed two longitudinal optical phonon modes at 252 cm -1 and 500 cm -1. In photoluminescence study, the luminescence peaks was observed at 452 nm corresponding to band to band emission. FT-IR study illustrated the existence of Zn-Se bonding in ZnSe thin film. The optical constants were calculated using spectroscopic ellipsometry and were determined from the best fit ellipsometric data in the wavelength regime of interest from 370-1000 nm. These results manifested excellent room temperature ZnSe synthesis and characteristics for opto-electronics technologies.  相似文献

The aroma generating volatile components profile and in vitro antioxidant capacities of different aromatic rice cultivars was determined by GC–MS analysis and in terms of DPPH scavenging activity, lipid peroxidation inhibition, phosphomolybdenum reduction and reducing power assay. The total phenolic content including both free and bound forms in the analyzed aromatic rice cultivars, Mushki budgi (1.62 mg GAE/g), Mushki kandi (1.63 mg GAE/g) and Kamad (1.60 mg GAE/g) were found double the amount as compared to non-aromatic Koshkari (0.86 mg GAE/g) cultivar. The aromatic rice cultivars had also shown higher total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity than non-aromatic rice cultivar (Koshkari). The GC–MS results indicated 21-aromatic compounds present in sufficient quantities in aromatic cultivars and some of them were unique to these cultivars. Among the compounds identified, aldehydes were found in higher quantity followed by alkanes, ketones and esters. Among the aromatic rice cultivars, Mushki budgi and Mushki kandi were found possessing higher quantity of flavoring components such as benzaldehyde, a carcinostatic agent. The cultivars Mushki budgi and Mushki kandi indicated positive correlation of TPC, TFC and the in vitro antioxidant components largely, while the less aromatic Kamad, correlate with only two components viz DPPH and lipid peroxidation.  相似文献

Protein misfolding is a common basis of many neurodegenerative diseases including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Misfolded proteins, such as TDP-43, FUS, Matrin3, and SOD1, mislocalize and form the hallmark cytoplasmic and nuclear inclusions in neurons of ALS patients. Cellular protein quality control prevents protein misfolding under normal conditions and, particularly, when cells experience protein folding stress due to the fact of increased levels of reactive oxygen species, genetic mutations, or aging. Molecular chaperones can prevent protein misfolding, refold misfolded proteins, or triage misfolded proteins for degradation by the ubiquitin–proteasome system or autophagy. DnaJC7 is an evolutionarily conserved molecular chaperone that contains both a J-domain for the interaction with Hsp70s and tetratricopeptide domains for interaction with Hsp90, thus joining these two major chaperones’ machines. Genetic analyses reveal that pathogenic variants in the gene encoding DnaJC7 cause familial and sporadic ALS. Yet, the underlying ALS-associated molecular pathophysiology and many basic features of DnaJC7 function remain largely unexplored. Here, we review aspects of DnaJC7 expression, interaction, and function to propose a loss-of-function mechanism by which pathogenic variants in DNAJC7 contribute to defects in DnaJC7-mediated chaperoning that might ultimately contribute to neurodegeneration in ALS.  相似文献

Origami has become an increasingly popular geometry in thermal engineering, namely, heat regulatory applications such as heat sinks and radiators. In this study, the radiative heating and radiative and natural convective cooling of three origami geometries (W-fold, Miura Ori (1), and Miura Ori (2)) made of heavy-duty aluminum foil under a radiative heater with different powers (800, 1600, and 2400 W) and different compression lengths (0.15, 0.25, 0.35, and 0.45 m) were investigated. It was found that the Miura Ori (1) and Miura Ori (2) geometries have three to four times high-temperature differences (the maximum temperature at the end of the heating process minus the initial temperature) than the W-fold geometry. The Miura Ori (2) and Miura Ori (1) geometries produced high heat capacity enhancements of 1.2–3.2 times at high compression lengths that showed great potential for applications such as solar steam generators. The overall heat transfer coefficient for cooling can be controlled by changing the compression length of the origami geometry, allowing for dynamic surface temperature controls. This parameter decreases by up to 25.3%, 22.6%, and 45.9% for W-fold, Miura Ori (1), and Miura Ori (2), respectively, in comparison to their flat states.  相似文献

Aqueous ruthenium was detected in real-time under ambient conditions using microwave-assisted laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (MW-LIBS). A 10 mJ laser energy and 750 W microwave power were directed at an open liquid jet sample of ruthenium. It was observed that, for liquid flow, the coupling efficiency between the microwave and the laser-induced plasma was limited to 43%. The improvement in the ruthenium's signal-to-noise ratio with MW-LIBS, with respect to LIBS, was 76-fold. Based on MW-LIBS, the limit of detection for aqueous ruthenium was determined to be 957 ± 84 ppb.  相似文献
