In this paper, we introduce a new adaptive controller design scheme for nonlinear telerobotic systems with varying time delays where the delays and their variation rates are unknown. The designed controller has the ability to synchronize the state behaviors of the local and the remote robots. In this paper, asymptotic stability in the presence of varying time delays is of interest. Using the proposed controller, asymptotic stability of the bilateral telerobotic system subject to any bounded yet unknown varying delay with a bounded yet unknown rate of change can be guaranteed. Besides the varying time delay, the proposed adaptive controller has the ability to adapt to the parameter variations in the local and the remote robots’ dynamics. It is shown that position and velocity errors between the local and the remote manipulators converge to the zero asymptotically, thus ensuring teleoperation transparency. Experimental and simulation results with a pair of PHANToM haptic devices and a pair of planar manipulators under varying time delays in the communication channel demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 相似文献

This work investigates the problem of combining deficient evidence for the purpose of quality assessment. The main focus of the work is modeling vagueness, ambiguity, and local nonspecificity in information within a unified approach. We introduce an extended fuzzy Dempster–Shafer scheme based on the simultaneous use of fuzzy interval‐grade and interval‐valued belief degree (IGIB). The latter facilitates modeling of uncertainties in terms of local ignorance associated with expert knowledge, whereas the former allows for handling the lack of information on belief degree assignments. Also, generalized fuzzy sets can be readily transformed into the proposed fuzzy IGIB structure. The reasoning for quality assessment is performed by solving nonlinear optimization problems on fuzzy Dempster–Shafer paradigm for the fuzzy IGIB structure. The application of the proposed inference method is investigated by designing a reasoning scheme for water quality monitoring and validated through the experimental data available for different sampling points in a water distribution network. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

Video indexing is employed to represent the features of video sequences. Motion vectors derived from compressed video are preferred for video indexing because they can be accessed by partial decoding; thus, they are used extensively in various video analysis and indexing applications. In this study, we introduce an efficient compressed domain video indexing method and implement it on the H.264/AVC coded videos. The video retrieval experimental evaluations indicate that the video retrieval based on the proposed indexing method outperforms motion vector based video retrieval in 74 % of queries with little increase in computation time. Furthermore, we compared our method with a pixel level video indexing method which employs both temporal and spatial features. Experimental evaluation results indicate that our method outperforms the pixel level method both in performance and speed. Hence considering the speed and precision characteristics of indexing methods, the proposed method is an efficient indexing method which can be used in various video indexing and retrieval applications. 相似文献

In this study, thermal and small-scale effects on the flapwise bending vibrations of a rotating nanoplate, which can be the basis of nano-turbine design, have been analyzed. The nano-turbine is made of an orthotropic nanoplate with a setting angle that is modeled based on the classical plate theory (CPT) with cantilever boundary conditions. The axial forces are also included in the model as the true spatial variation due to the rotation and temperature change. The governing equations and boundary conditions are derived according to Hamilton's principle and the governing equations are solved with the aid of the generalized differential quadrature method. The effects of small-scale parameter, nondimensional angular velocity, temperature change, and setting angles in the first four nondimensional frequencies are discussed. Due to the consideration of the rotating effects, results of this study are applicable in nano-machines, such as nano-motors, nano-rotor, and other rotating nano-structures. Also, by considering the effect of thermal loading on rotation of a nanoplate, the results are useful in the design of nano-turbines. 相似文献

Underpotential (UPD) and overpotential (OPD) deposition of Pb from a perchlorate solution on gold substrate was studied using
in-situ electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) method. Cyclic voltammograms and current-transients recorded during
potentiostatic electrochemical deposition were measured simultaneously with EQCM data including frequency and resistance.
Results show that underpotential deposition (UPD) of Pb occurs before overpotential deposition (OPD) of Pb starts to grow,
based on both massogram and cyclic voltammogram. The OPD of Pb grows at higher overpotentials which significantly influence
the mechanism of nucleation and growth. EQCM reveals that the mass to charge ratio of OPD is different at different overpotentials,
owing to the mechanism of nucleation and growth and possible roughening of grown Pb or hydrogen evolution. A comparison between
our experimental data with the Scharifker-Hills theory based on non-dimensional plots shows an instantaneous mechanism. Scanning
electron microscope taken from the electrodeposited lead on gold confirms the behaviour exhibiting almost same size of nuclei. 相似文献

A mathematical model was generated to predict the composition of the outlet gas of ozone generators. In order to make the modelling possible it was important to predict the occurrence time and the exact location of each individual discharge zone. This was done by connecting a specially constructed ozone generator, which would locate the discharge zones, to a nanosecond pulse generator which would impose regular occurrence times for discharge columns. The experimental and theoretical outlet concentrations of this ozone generator were compared. The result was an excellent match which justified the assumptions made in the model. The mathematical model was also used to study the effect of different factors affecting the production of ozone. 相似文献
