In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving method to determine the number of distinct users who connected to one or more entry points of a distributed Internet service with multiple service operators. The problem is motivated by the anonymization network Tor, and the difficulties that arise when aiming to estimate the number of Tor users. We present a way to perform distributed user counting with accurate estimates and a high level of privacy protection, based on a probabilistic data structure. We start from a relatively naive approach, and analyze the level of privacy protection that it provides. Subsequently, we improve on this baseline mechanism, building upon the gained insights. In order to assess the privacy properties of the discussed techniques, we use a novel probabilistic analysis approach which compares an attacker’s a priori and a posteriori knowledge.  相似文献

This work addresses the correction and improvement of Mavrotas and Diakoulaki's branch and bound algorithm for mixed 0-1 multiple objective linear programs. We first elaborate the issues encountered by the original algorithm and then propose a corrected version for the biobjective case using an exact representation of the nondominated set associated with an appropriate update procedure. Then we introduce several improvements using better bound sets and branching strategies and finally present some experiments to study the effectiveness of our propositions.  相似文献

Drug-coated balloons (DCB), which have emerged as therapeutic alternative to drug-eluting stents in percutaneous cardiovascular intervention, are well described with regard to clinical efficiency and safety within a number of clinical studies. In vitro studies elucidating the correlation of coating method and composition with DCB performance are however rare but considered important for the understanding of DCB requirements and the improvement of established DCB. In this context, we evaluated the applicability of a pipetting, dip-coating, and spray-coating process for the establishment of DCB based on paclitaxel (PTX) and the ionic liquid cetylpyridinium salicylate (Cetpyrsal) as novel innovative additive in three different compositions. Among tested methods and compositions, the pipetting process with 50 wt.% PTX resulted in most promising coatings as drug load was less controllable by the other processes and higher PTX contents led to considerable drug crystallization, as visualized by electron microscopy, accelerating PTX loss during short-term elution. Applying these conditions, homogeneous coatings could be applied on balloon catheter, whose simulated use in an in vitro vessel model revealed percental drug losses of 36 and 28% during transit and percental drug transfers of 12 and 40% under expansion for coatings applied in expanded and folded balloon condition, respectively. In comparison to literature values, these results support the high potential of Cetpyrsal as novel DCB matrix regarding low drug loss and efficient drug transfer.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In the 1970s and 1980 architects and planners in socialist Poland increasingly attempted to defy the inflexible structure of the state-operated construction industry and modify the by-now ubiquitous system-built mass housing blocks. These efforts generated housing complexes that took up postmodern principles—visually harmonic, legible, and at the same time meaningful urban spaces modelled after historical typologies. On the basis of archival documents, contemporaneous publications, and interviews with the protagonists this article analyses three examples: Radogoszcz-East in ?ód? (1979–1989, designed by Jakub Wujek, Zdzis?aw Lipski, and Andrzej Owczarek), Ró?any Potok in Poznań (1978–2010s, designed by Marian Fikus and Jerzy Gurawski) and the Na Skarpie Scheme in Kraków-Nowa Huta (1987–95, designed by Romuald Loegler, Wojciech Dobrzański, Ewa Fitzke, and Micha? Szymanowski). The article argues that these housing complexes first evolved from late modernist ideas, in particular structuralist currents, and only at a later stage absorbed postmodern theory from both domestic and international sources. It also points to individual architects and planners as the driving forces in the struggle between artistic innovation and systemic inertia, who were able to take advantage of unexpected latitude within the declining socialist regime to carry out their proposals.  相似文献

In this paper we demonstrate how to monitor a smartphone running Symbian operating system and Windows Mobile in order to extract features for anomaly detection. These features are sent to a remote server because running a complex intrusion detection system on this kind of mobile device still is not feasible due to capability and hardware limitations. We give examples on how to compute relevant features and introduce the top ten applications used by mobile phone users based on a study in 2005. The usage of these applications is recorded by a monitoring client and visualized. Additionally, monitoring results of public and self-written malwares are shown. For improving monitoring client performance, Principal Component Analysis was applied which lead to a decrease of about 80% of the amount of monitored features.  相似文献

Immunotherapy has been a breakthrough in cancer treatment, yet only a subgroup of patients responds to these novel drugs. Parameters such as cytotoxic T-cell infiltration into the tumor have been proposed for the early evaluation and prediction of therapeutic response, demanded for non-invasive, sensitive and longitudinal imaging. We have evaluated the feasibility of X-ray fluorescence imaging (XFI) to track immune cells and thus monitor the immune response. For that, we have performed Monte Carlo simulations using a mouse voxel model. Spherical targets, enriched with gold or palladium fluorescence agents, were positioned within the model and imaged using a monochromatic photon beam of 53 or 85 keV. Based on our simulation results, XFI may detect as few as 730 to 2400 T cells labelled with 195 pg gold each when imaging subcutaneous tumors in mice, with a spatial resolution of 1 mm. However, the detection threshold is influenced by the depth of the tumor as surrounding tissue increases scattering and absorption, especially when utilizing palladium imaging agents with low-energy characteristic fluorescence photons. Further evaluation and conduction of in vivo animal experiments will be required to validate and advance these promising results.  相似文献

The most common analyses carried out to assess gas engine oil quality include determination of viscosity, total base number (TBN), and total acid number (TAN). TAN has been considered to be an important indicator of oil quality, specifically in terms of defining oxidation and the extent of acidic contamination of used oils. TAN can be determined by potentiometric titration, and typical values for used oils can reach up to 4 mg KOH/g. A more convenient approach for the determination of TAN is based on infrared (IR) spectral data and multivariate regression models.We developed partial least-squares (PLS) models for the determination of TAN using IR data measured from monograde mineral gas engine oils (SAE 40, medium ash) that have been used in sewer and wood gas engines run with gaseous fuels from a sewage plant and a wood gasification plant, respectively. The final model performance was 0.07 mg KOH/g for the standard error of prediction (SEP). Essential for the development of powerful empirical models was an appropriate variable selection by combining expert knowledge, biPLS or dyn-biPLS, and a genetic algorithm. The optimum complexities of the models (the number of PLS components) and their prediction performances have been estimated by repeated double cross validation (rdCV).  相似文献

The sintering behavior of metal injection molded titanium aluminide alloys, their microstructure formation and resulting mechanical properties were investigated. As reference material, the alloy Ti-45Al-5Nb-0.2B-0.2C at.% (TNB-V5) was selected. Additionally, two other variations with Mo and Mo + Si additions were prepared: Ti-45Al-3Nb-1Mo-0.2B-0.2C at.% and Ti-45Al-3Nb-1Mo-1Si-0.2B-0.2C at.%. The results indicate that the optimum sintering temperature was slightly above the solidus line. With proper sintering parameters, very low porosities (<0.5%) and fine microstructures with a colony size <85 µm could be achieved. Considering the sintering temperatures applied, the phase transformations upon cooling could be described as L + β → β → α + β → α → α + γ → α2 + γ, which was in agreement with the microstructures observed. The effects of Mo and Si were opposite regarding the sintering behavior. Mo addition led to an increase in the optimum sintering temperature, whereas Si caused a significant decrease.  相似文献
