This paper deals with the influence of interface between polyethylene and semiconducting electrode on the space charge formation and electrical breakdown. Low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) films attached with different semiconducting electrodes were subjected to the DC breakdown test, and corresponding space charge distribution was measured. A heat treatment to LDPE itself did not bring about a significant change in space charge profile; however, when a semiconducting electrode was hot‐pressed, the impurities would migrate into LDPE at high temperature, leading to the change in space charge profile. Furthermore, it was suggested from the comparison between the results with degassed and as‐received semiconducting electrodes that some carriers relating to impurities in the electrode would move into LDPE under the voltage. In addition, it was shown that the breakdown is not determined by the field at the cathode which can supply sufficient electrons, but by the maximum field across the specimen, suggesting that an increase in conduction current due to the generation and/or injection, rather than the electronic avalanche process, leads to the breakdown. © 2001 Scripta Technica, Electr Eng Jpn, 138(3): 19–25, 2002  相似文献

The diffusion of titanium into lithium niobate has been studied by X-ray rocking curve and topographic methods as well as electron probe microanalysis in an attempt to determine the diffusion mechanism and evaluate the crystallinity of the diffused layer. It was found that the titanium concentration along the depth in the diffused layer approximates to a Gaussian distribution, the activation energy for diffusion being 2.18 eV. We also found that the diffusion of titanium caused a marked lattice contraction along the a-axis (a/a –10–3) resulting in the generation of misfit dislocations and cracks in the diffused layer. The high activation energy and the lattice contraction suggest that the titanium ions diffuse substitutionally into the lithium niobate crystal. Mechanisms causing refractive index changes in the diffused layer are also discussed.  相似文献

We have investigated the surface structure of islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) fibrils and α-synuclein protofibrils in liquid by means of frequency modulation atomic force microscopy (FM-AFM). ?ngstr?m-resolution FM-AFM imaging of isolated macromolecules in liquid is demonstrated for the first time. Individual β-strands aligned perpendicular to the fibril axis with a spacing of 0.5?nm are resolved in FM-AFM images, which confirms cross-β structure of IAPP fibrils in real space. FM-AFM images also reveal the existence of 4?nm periodic domains along the axis of IAPP fibrils. Stripe features with 0.5?nm spacing are also found in images of α-synuclein protofibrils. However, in contrast to the case for IAPP fibrils, the stripes are oriented 30° from the axis, suggesting the possibility of β-strand alignment in protofibrils different from that in mature fibrils or the regular arrangement of thioflavin T molecules present during the fibril preparation aligned at the surface of the protofibrils.  相似文献

The presence of “proteinaceous β-sheet rich fibrillar structures” and amyloidogenic material, has been alluded to extensively in the literature, in association with natural materials exhibiting superior mechanical strength per unit volume. Wall to bed heat transfer has been studied in three-phase fluidized beds with a cocurrent up-flow of water and air. Six sizes of glass beads, two sizes of activated carbon beads and one size of alumina beads, varying in average diameter from 0.61 to 6.9 mm and in density from 1330 to 3550 kg/m3, were fluidized in a 95.6 mm diameter brass column heated by a steam jacket. Complementary heat transfer experiments have been performed also for a gas–liquid cocurrent column and liquid–solid fluidized beds. The wall-to-bed coefficient for heat transfer in the gas–liquid–solid fluidized bed is evaluated on the basis of the axial dispersion model concept. The ratio of the wall-to-bed heat transfer coefficient in the gas–liquid–solid fluidized bed to that in the liquid–solid fluidized bed operated at the same liquid flow rate is correlated in terms of the ratio of the velocity of gas to that of liquid and the properties of solid particles. A correlation equation for estimating the wall-to-bed heat transfer coefficient in the liquid–solid fluidized bed is also developed.  相似文献

The mechanical behaviors of granular media are controlled by grain properties and microstructure. The primary property of granular media is denoted by its grain shape, grain size distribution, stiffness, and interparticle friction. The grain shape itself is of particular importance. Microstructures are formed in the connection paths of contact points between grains. In this paper, the deformation of granular materials with different grain shapes was simulated using two-dimensional DEM under different stress-levels and densities. After analyzing the results, the authors investigated fabric changes. The evolution rule of stress-induced anisotropy and its limitation as well as the existence of a critical state of fabric are revealed.  相似文献

We have developed a method for local potential measurements in liquid using frequency modulation atomic force microscopy. In this method, local potential is calculated from the first and second harmonic vibrations of a cantilever induced by applying an ac bias voltage between a tip and a sample. The use of an ac bias voltage with a relatively high frequency prevents uncontrolled electrochemical reactions and redistribution of ions and water. The nanoscale resolution of the method is demonstrated by imaging potential distribution of a dodecylamine thin film deposited on a graphite surface in 1 mM NaCl solution.  相似文献

This paper deals with the effects of acetophenone coating on dielectric properties such as tan δ and capacitance and on space charge formation up to electrical breakdown under AC voltage application in low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) film. The existence of acetophenone at the electrical interface enhances tan δ. tan δ in acetophenone‐coated specimens increased with electric field and decreased with the frequency in the high‐field and high‐temperature region. AC breakdown test revealed that the electric strength in noncoated specimens was higher than in acetophenone‐coated specimens, and that the electric strength also decreased with temperature. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
