Specific [3H]MK801 binding to rat brain NMDA receptors after the administration of the convulsant drug 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MP) and the adenosine analogue cyclopentyladenosine (CPA) was studied by means of a quantitative autoradiographic method. MP administration (150 mg/kg, i.p.) caused significant decreases in [3H]MK801 binding in several hippocampus subareas and layers, mainly in CA1 and CA3 at seizure (11-27%) and postseizure (8-16%) and in cerebral occipital cortex at seizure (18-22%). In nucleus accumbens, a rise was observed at postseizure (44%) and a tendency to increase at seizure (24%). CPA (2mg/kg, i.p.) decreased ligand binding in hippocampus (CAI, CA2, CA3) (17-22%) and in occipital cerebral cortex (18-24%). When CPA was administered 30 minutes before MP (which delayed seizure onset) and rats were sacrificed at seizure, decreases in [3H]MK801 binding in several layers of CA1 and CA3 of hippocampus (11-27%) and in CA1, CA2, CA3 (24-35%) after CPA+MP postseizure, and an increase in CA2 after CPA and CPA+MP postseizure (20-34%), were observed. A drop was found in the occipital subarea (18-24%) after CPA and in the frontal and occipital subarea after CPA+MP postseizure (24-34%) while no changes were observed in any treatment involving the other cerebral cortex regions, thalamic nuclei, caudate putamen and olfactory tubercle. These results show that [3H]MK801 binding changes according to drug treatment and the area being studied, thus indicating a different role in seizure activity.  相似文献

Coal use for electricity generation will continue growing in importance. In the present work the optimization of a high efficiency and zero emissions coal-fired plant, which produces both hydrogen and electricity, has been developed. The majority of this paper concerns an integration of gasification unit, which is characterized by coal hydrogasification and carbon dioxide (CO2) separation, with a power island, where a high-hydrogen content syngas is burnt with pure oxygen stream. Another issue is the high temperature CO2 desorption. Because of the elevated temperature heat supply, the regeneration process affects the overall performance of ZECOMIX plant. An advanced steam cycle characterized by a medium pressure steam compressor and expander has been considered for power generation. A preliminary study of different components leads to analyze possible routes for optimization of the whole plant. The plant equipped with a CO2 capture unit could reach efficiency close to 50%. The simulations of a thermodynamic model were carried out using the software ChemCAD.

This study is a part of a larger research project, named ZECOMIX, led by ENEA (Italian Research Agency for New technologies, Energy and Environment), other partners being ANSALDO and different Italian Universities. With reference to technological, architectural, and market considerations, the specific areas of design methodology and automation in flash memory design are analyzed in this paper. For each of the activities identified as critical, we show the design process key constraints and specifications, which drive the change in methodology, tools, and flows. We go through a brief survey of the solutions adopted in the recent past as well as the new emerging areas of intervention. The analysis covers: 1) design methodology, floorplanning, full-custom layout design and Rtl2Layout automation integration; 2) analog-digital mixed full-chip simulation and architectural exploration; 3) statistical analog circuital simulation; 4) mixed-signal design to test approaches; and 5) IC and package design integration.  相似文献

We address the problem of generating detailed conflict-free railway schedules for given sets of train lines and frequencies. To solve this problem for large railway networks, we propose a network decomposition into condensation and compensation zones. Condensation zones contain main station areas, where capacity is limited and trains are required to travel with maximum speed. They are connected by compensation zones, where traffic is less dense and time reserves can be introduced for increasing stability. In this paper, we focus on the scheduling problem in condensation zones. To gain structure in the schedule we enforce a time discretisation which reduces the problem size considerably and also the cognitive load of the dispatchers. The problem is formulated as an independent set problem in a conflict graph, which is then solved using a fixed-point iteration heuristic. Results show that even large-scale problems with dense timetables and large topologies can be solved quickly.  相似文献

In 4 experiments, we investigated the effects of object affordance in reach-to-grasp actions. Participants indicated whether a depicted small or large object was natural or manmade by means of different object-grasping responses (i.e., with a power or a precision grip). We observed that the size of the depicted object affected the grasping kinematics (grip aperture) and the reach-onset times of compatible and incompatible actions. Additional experiments showed that the effect of perceived object size on motor response was modulated by contextual action information and the observation of others’ actions with the object. Thus, beyond the observation of object affordance effects in natural grasping actions, this study suggests that the coupling between object perception and action is not static and obligatory. To investigate the functional connection between numerical cognition and action planning, the authors required participants to perform different grasping responses depending on the parity status of Arabic digits. The results show that precision grip actions were initiated faster in response to small numbers, whereas power grips were initiated faster in response to large numbers. Moreover, analyses of the grasping kinematics reveal an enlarged maximum grip aperture in the presence of large numbers. Reaction time effects remained present when controlling for the number of fingers used while grasping but disappeared when participants pointed to the object. The data indicate a priming of size-related motor features by numerals and support the idea that representations of numbers and actions share common cognitive codes within a generalized magnitude system. A cDNA clone encoding the membrane form of guanylyl cyclase was isolated from a Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus testis cDNA library and its nucleotide sequence was determined. The cDNA was 4123 bp long and an open reading frame predicted a protein of 1125 amino acids including an apparent signal peptide of 21 residues; a single transmembrane domain of 25 amino acids which divides the mature protein into an amino-terminal, extracellular domain of 485 amino acids and a carboxyl-terminal, intracellular domain of 594 amino acids. Three potential N-linked glycosylation sites were present in the extracellular domain. Northern blot analysis of poly(A)+RNA from testes, ovaries, eggs and embryos at various developmental stages showed that the cDNA encoding guanylyl cyclase hybridized to a mRNA of 4.4 kb from the testes. We developed a large scale purification method of the phosphorylated (131 kDa) and dephosphorylated (128 kDa) forms of the membrane-bound guanylyl cyclase from H. pulcherrimus spermatozoa. The purified 131 kDa and 128 kDa forms of the guanylyl cyclase contained 26.0 +/- 1.3 and 4.3 +/- 0.7 moles of phosphate per mol protein (mean +/- S.D.; n = 6), respectively. The amino-terminal amino acids of both the 131 kDa and 128 kDa forms of the guanylyl cyclase could not be detected, suggesting that they were blocked.  相似文献
