We present our current progress on the design and test of Ti/TiN multilayer for use in kinetic inductance detectors. Sensors based on sub-stoichiometric TiN film are commonly used in several applications. However, it is difficult to control the targeted critical temperature \(T_c\) , to maintain precise control of the nitrogen incorporation process and to obtain a production uniformity. To avoid these problems we investigated multilayer Ti/TiN films that show a high uniformity coupled with high quality factor, kinetic inductance and inertness of TiN. These features are ideal to realize superconductive microresonator detectors for astronomical instruments application but also for the field of neutrino physics. Using pure Ti and stoichiometric TiN, we developed and tested different multilayer configurations, in terms of number of Ti/TiN layers and in terms of different interlayer thicknesses. The target was to reach a critical temperature \(T_c\) around \((1{\div } 1.5)\)  K in order to have a low energy gap and slower recombination time (i.e. low generation–recombination noise). The results prove that the superconductive transition can be tuned in the \((0.5{\div } 4.6)\)  K temperature range by properly choosing the Ti thickness in the \((0{\div } 15)\)  nm range, and the TiN thickness in the \((5{\div } 100)\)  nm range.  相似文献

During the first six months of data taking the Fermi satellite was capable to detect gamma ray emission of the nearby supernova remnant IC443 (G189.1+3.0). IC443 is a shell-type supernova remnant located in the anticenter region where observation can be made clean enough from possible foreground and background overlap, even though care has to be taken due to the vicinity of one of the brightest gamma-ray pulsars, Geminga. IC443 estimated age (20–30 kyr) and the observed two-shell morphology with different radii suggest that the SNR shell has been interacting with surrounding interstellar matter and a neighboring SNR shell. Also the detection of strong molecular emission lines and TeV gamma-ray emission support the idea that the blast has been interacting with dense molecular gas accelerating cosmic-ray particle. After the first year of data taking, Fermi will be surely capable to determine the spatial extension and resolve in much finer details the spectral shape of the gamma-ray emission produced by the accelerated cosmic rays in IC443 distinguished from those of galactic origin.  相似文献

Chemotropic proteins guide neuronal projections to their final target during embryo development and are useful to guide axons of neurons used in transplantation therapies. Site-specific delivery of the proteins however is needed for their application in the brain to avoid degradation and pleiotropic affects. In the present study we report the use of Poly (ethylene glycol)-Silica (PEG-Si) nanocomposite gel with thixotropic properties that make it injectable and suitable for delivery of the chemotropic protein semaphorin 3A. PEG-Si gel forms a functional gradient of semaphorin that enhances axon outgrowth of dopaminergic neurons from rat embryos or differentiated from stem cells in culture. It is not cytotoxic and its properties allowed its injection into the striatum without inflammatory response in the short term. Long term implantation however led to an increase in macrophages and glial cells. The inflammatory response could have resulted from non-degraded silica particles, as observed in biodegradation assays.  相似文献

Here we present a fiber-optic seismic waves sensor based on in-fiber Bragg gratings. Fiber-Bragg-grating (FBG) sensors have been demonstrated to have very high sensitivity to dynamical strain and very extended dynamical response. The seismic sensing system is based on the integration of three FBGs' dynamical strain sensors in a mechanical structure acting as an inverse pendulum. Polar symmetry of the mechanical system and 120deg placement of the FBG sensors could enable directional capability of the seismic sensor. Design, manufacturing, and preliminary dynamical testing of the seismic sensor are discussed.  相似文献

In Drosophila, Sxl functions as a binary switch in sex determination. Under the control of the primary sex-determining signal, it produces functional protein only in XX animals to implement female development. Here we report that, in contrast to Drosophila, the Sxl homologue in the Medfly, Ceratitis capitata, expresses the same mRNAs and protein isoforms in both XX and XY animals irrespective of the primary sex-determining signal. Also, experiments with two inducible transgenes demonstrate that the corresponding Ceratitis SXL product has no significant sex-transforming effects when expressed in Drosophila. Similar results have been obtained for the Sxl homologue of Musca domestica (Meise, M., Hilfiker-Kleiner, D., Brunner, C., D?bendorfer, A., N?thiger, R. and Bopp, D. (1998) Development 125, 1487-1494). Our findings suggest that Sxl acquired its master regulatory role in sex determination during evolution of the Acalyptratae group, most probably after phylogenetic divergence of the genus Drosophila from other genera of this group.  相似文献

Growth-inhibitory activities of selected natural benzofurans (4-9), trans-cinnamic acid derivatives (10-13), chromene compounds (14 and 16), and some semisynthetic derivatives were determined in last instar larvae of Tenebrio molitor via topical administration in Me2CO. The most inhibitory of the tested compounds were 3-gamma, gamma-dimethylallyl-p-coumaric acid (10) and the benzofuran derivative 12-(p-cumaroyloxy)-tremetone (5), the former compound acting on the pupae and the latter on the last instar larvae. Several developmental deficiencies were observed, and some structure-activity relationships are discussed.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxygen reduction have been studied at Nafion®-coated dual layer gas-diffusion electrodes at 60 °C in 2.5 M H2SO4. A.c. impedance and steady state galvanostatic measurements have been carried out on electrodes containing various PTFE loadings. A.c. impedance spectroscopy supplied information on charge transfer resistance, series resistance and double layer capacitance of electrodes during the oxygen reduction process. These parameters, together with those derived by d.c. measurements (i.e. Tafel slopes, charge transfer coefficient, etc.), allowed a better identification of the features governing the electrode efficiency and the reduction mechanism. The best electrode was found to be one containing 30% PTFE; this showed both the lowest charge transfer resistance and the lowest overpotential for oxygen reduction. This electrode also showed lower overpotential than the same uncoated electrode at low current densities. The poisoning effect by methanol has been also investigated. Upon addition of methanol to the solution, no change was observed in the reaction mechanism at low overpotentials. In contrast, a significant variation of the Tafel slope was observed at high overpotentials. This behaviour is interpreted in terms of the variation of Pt-O bond strength as a function of electrode potential.  相似文献
