Development and oviposition of the foreign grain beetle, Ahasverus advena (Waltl), were studied on pure cultures of seven species of fungi. The insects developed on Aspergillus amstelodami (Mangin) Thom and Church, Penicillium citrinum Thom, and a Cladosporium sp. but not on A flavus Link, A. niger Van Tiegham, or A. ochraceus Wilhelm; a few larvae reached the adult stage on A. candidus Link. Females preferred to oviposit in the fungi where larval development was successful, in both no-choice and 3-choice tests.  相似文献

A recently developed, high active, alkyldimethylamine oxide powder now permits the use of this valuable surfactant in water-sensitive formulations such as bar soaps. Study of the various amine oxide homologs in key performance properties of soap bars showed them to be effective foam modifiers, plasticizers, and synergistic lime soap dispersants. The solid amine oxides were found to be a versatile additive which could readily be formulated into a wide variety of personal care bars.  相似文献

A new method for the rapid processing of thin gage sheet of traditionally difficult-to-process materials, such as γ-TiAl, has been modeled and experimentally developed. The method uses high density infrared (HDI) rapid heating of a plasma arc lamp to liquid-phase sinter powder metal compact precursors to structures of varying densities. Material properties for precursor γ-TiAl compacts were effectively chosen or determined and then used with a finite-volume heat-transfer modeling code to model the process. With the aid of the model, processing parameters were determined that allowed for a temperature gradient across the sheet that would produce a liquid-phase cast structure on the surface, residual powder on the backside, and a middle layer solid + liquid zone. Temperature and phase fields were predicted through the thickness of the sheet using the model. Fine grain, lamellar structured materials were produced in the liquid-phase-sintered zone.  相似文献

The nutritive value of protein of blends consisting of meat and soya bean protein products, which replaced either 20 or 40 % of protein of meat, were determined in rat feeding experiments. Protein efficiency ratio (PER) and net protein utilisation (NPU) were significantly lower (P<0.05) in blends containing either 20% protein from soya isolate or 40% protein from soya concentrate or soya flakes than blends containing sirloin only. However, there were no significant differences in PER and NPU when model meat (consisting of 70 and 30% protein from sirloin and connective tissue, respectively) was replaced by up to 20% protein from soya isolate or up to 40% protein from soya concentrate.  相似文献

The MDS profile and flatness control system is based on many physical part models. The thermal camber model is the only one of these part models which, apart from the spatial dimensions, inherently depends on the time dimension as opposed to part models like roll bending or even roll wear. This means that work roll temperature and shape keep changing even if boundary conditions like water distribution or strip contact stay constant. The exact mathematical solution of the resulting dynamic equations Is a very time consuming task usually not suitable for on-line purposes. Here a new mathematical approach is presented, which solves the 2-dimensional Fourier heat conduction equation with 3-dimensional boundary conditions at a speed suitable for on-line applications. Furthermore an approximate solution of the Hooke stress strain relations is derived, which translates the temperature distribution of the roll into an expansion distribution. This thermal camber model has been implemented in several hot and cold rolling mills. Data collected there show good agreement with the model.  相似文献

We demonstrate that phosphorous ion implantation is an effective means of blue-shifting the absorption edge in InGaAs/InGaAlAs barrier, reservoir and quantum well electron transfer structures (BRAQWETS). The electroabsorption peak is wavelength-shifted by 100 nm after implant, with a complete recovery of the electroabsorption magnitude after an appropriate rapid thermal anneal cycle. Good electrical characteristics are also maintained after implant and anneal. We apply this technique to loss reduction for BRAQWETS waveguide devices. At 1.523 mm, the implant and anneal results in a decrease of rib waveguide propagation loss from 79.4 dB/mm to 6.2 dB/mm  相似文献

The results of calculations support the view that internal silanol defect sites in ZSM-5 zeolites occur as hydrogen-bonded pairs. These sites involve moderately acidic hydroxyls, less acidic than Al associated bridged hydroxyls but significantly more acidic than hydroxyls which terminate the crystal at the outer surface.  相似文献
